The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Eaen was a little surprised that Fade hadn't made a quick exit at that point, and stopped for a second. Before commenting on the details regarding him and Miguel, the few details he understood, Eaen thought for a second about what she had said about hiding.
"Well..." Eaen started out slowly, "I think it takes a strong person to know when to hide. Weaker people will run head first into any and every conflict, but the strong know that to run is to survive and fight another day. Plus..." Eaen blushed slightly while he said this next part. "In a world that really doesn't want people like us around... hiding's not such a bad thing. Hiding, and living through whatever you've experienced, I think that's better then winning any out right fight against someone." Eaen stopped and chuckled when he realized that he went on a bit of a tangent at the end.
"Sorry, guess I went off in a different direction..." He felt he should move on, seeing as how he didn't want to make her deal with any emotions about her past that she wouldn't want to. He stopped and thought a moment about him and Miguel.
"Well, I read some stuff online about the seperation of mind and body, and there's this thing called an astral form. It's the form your soul takes when it leaves your body. I believe it's their astral forms that I've been housing in my body, but then again, I'm not entirely sure. Just a theory." Eaen stopped for a second to think about the next part. "Well... I had this friend named Erin and we actually discovered she was a mutant together. I was giving her a hug one day upon meeting her, nothing unusual there, and she turned into a puddle." Eaen laughed. "Sorry, that sounds worse than it is. Her mutant ability I guess is to become a human puddle. After she became solid again and I was done freaking out, we tested it out a little, and found out she could become a puddle by herself. It was just a coincidence that her mutant powers popped up that day and not any other. So, ever since Miguel has become a permenant resident within my head, people who come real close to me may use their powers without meaning too or get a small boost of power. Ever since that first day, Erin said she could shrink down to the puddle quicker when she was near me."
Eaen stopped for a second to wonder how Erin was doing. He had only spoken to her the day before, but he wondered how often he would actually get a chance to see her now that he was living in New York.
Eaen sighed, "and as far as Miguel goes... yeah, he sees and hears everything I do. And feels the need to comment on everything as well. He's... not like me at all." Eaen finished lamely.
Eaen then smiled and streched out his hand. "Take hold and see what happens."
Fade raised an eyebrow as she listened to his explanation of his theory of running and as he continued to speak about how his powers work. When he reached out his hand, offering for her to take it, she first looked at him with an odd expression and reached forward to grab his hand. As soon as she touched his skin, his arms began to dissolve as it crept completely over her body, she was invisible, yet again. Hiding in the physical manner. Then, as it was some of her power, everything that she touched, the desk her foot was propped up against and Eaen turned invisible.
She glanced down at her hands, or at least where her hands should be and attempted to make them visible, a small quirk appeared for only a second and then disappeared again. Her eyes widened and she chuckled. "Good thing I don't have some weird ability like the ability to produce acid, or you'd be in a lot of trouble. But I'd have to admit, that's a pretty cool ability you have there, you're prolly able to control other mutants abilities better than they can."
As she let go, all that she touched turned visible again, yes, including Eaen. However, she stayed invisible before noticing that she was no longer visible and turned herself visible yet again.
((Her power is that she can turn objects that she touches invisible, so even though Eaen's jolts of power are weak, since her's are quite well developed, it's easier to use her power, and thus the invisibility effect))
Deathstar walks into the library looknig for a place where she can draw and sketch, in piece and quiet, the whole ordeal with fade made her feel a little ill towards the dorky girl, so she had to find a place where as though she can piece of mind and the library was the place
When she walks in the library she immediately see the dorky girl and a new mutant talking, Deathstar has too walk over there and welcome the new mutant, even though if fade wasn't over there she wouldn't bother talking to him, she walks towards brightside and notices fade showing off her powers..
"hey!! hows it going, I see your new blood" she says while holding her hand out toward brightsside as if she were welcoming him to giver her a hand shake not even acknowledging fades presence "The name is Layla but just call me Deathstar" she said with a small grin.."Oh I'm sorry i didn't mean to butt in your conversation, how rude of me." she says with a smirk as if she knows before hand what she was doing.
At first, a small frown skittered across Fade's face when she saw, out of the corner of her eye, Deathstar. However, when she moved from the corner of her eye right into the center of it, Fade clenched her teeth in anger. However, she just stood there, repeating what Raphael had said to her over and over in her mind. 'Control, control, control, control'. She mentally repeated. Even though the sight of Deathstar just made Fade's fists clench, she had to hold herself higher than Deathstar, so that meant that she had to ignore her or be nice to her.
Ha! As if that was going to happen! So she stood there, fists clenched, just standing. I swear that girl is asking for a punch in the face! If she even thinks that she can just barge in here and act like a be-otch again, she's wrong and needs some mental rearrangement. God! Does she HAVE to get on my nerves so much! 'Control' still echoed in her mind, last thing she wanted to do was lash out on this dumb girl after finally becoming an X-Man. So she just stood, unless Deathstar started something...that would be a different story...
Deathstar turns towards Fade, "We have to learn to get along, if I ever want to become an X-men, even though I can't stand dorks like you,...but I'm willing to try If you are....she said to fade with a sadistic smirk on her face
*she touches fades hair* I like what you did with your hair..its!! its!!! Well!!.....its you!!" she said with a fake smile trying to hold back any insults towards fade, sherolls her eyes at fade and turns back around towards this new mutant who has strange abilities so Brightside what can you do? she asks with a concerned look on her face
Eaen was startled slightly as Fade's power made them invisible. He realized after Fade made her comment about the acid, and recognized the flaw in his offering his hand. He shrugged, he trusted Fade enough that if she did have a power that could have harmed him, she would not have taken his hand. He never though about trying to use it as an agressive ability as opposed to passive, but he figured it might play out to be useful one day. Although the boost in energy is small, he was almost like a living battery, and giving anyone an extra surge of power can't be a bad thing he figured.
Eaen was about to comment back to Fade when a new girl with blonde and red hair came into the library. Eaen blushed lightly as she began to speak in a rather short and rude way. He wrapped his arms around his chest, and leaned back a little harder against the bookcase. "Oh, um, my name's Eaen." he muttered after Deathstar had introduced herself.
He watched quietly as Fade and Deathstar exchanged words, completely aware of Fade's change of mood. He was shocked by Deathstar's words and how she actually went as far as to touch Fade after being so rude.
<"Say Something.">
'What?'
<"Did I stutter? I'm pretty sure you can only do that with a mouth... Or maybe your thoughts can stut">
'Will you stop babbling?' Eaen cut off Miguel. 'What am I supposed to say?'
<"I dunno. Say something gay. You gay guys are supposed to be good at calming down girls.">
'....Something gay? Calm down girls? You... need to stop watching so much Degrassi.'
<"It's not like I have a choice! You're in control of the arms, so you're also in control of the remote.">
Eaen sighed audiably, before getting up from the bookshelf. For whatever reason Fade wasn't lashing back at Deathstar, so Eaen figured there must be some reason why she "can't" fight back. So Eaen decided, 'might as well be me. That way she can be put in her place and Fade can avoid getting into confrontation. It's the least I can do seeing as how nice she's been to me.'
"Listen Deathstar..." Eaen started out quietly, his face still slightly red. Although he couldn't let Miguel get control, he was slowly being fueled by the dark personality that was his no-so-better half. "Personally, I don't think it's very nice to come bursting into a conversation, blatently state the outburst as a direct insult on one of the people in said conversation, and then demand the person to get along with you, followed by telling them you can't stand dorks. I don't know where you come from, but obviously you didn't recieve any lessons in manners. If you want to get along with someone, treat them with respect. Don't demand for them to get along with you, and expect that you have to do nothing but sit back and still be a pain."
Eaen was going to continue, but he realized he was starting to get really heated. If there was one thing that annoyed Eaen it was rude and/or mean people, and at this rate Miguel would be on a rampage in the library in no time. Eaen calmed himself down and cut off the connection to Miguel's natural rage. Loosing his edge for confrontation, Eaen blushed again and leaned up against the bookshelf. No longer looking Deathstar in the eyes, he stated weakly, "Maybe you should just apologize..."
Daethstar just looked at this new mutant with an evil grin, as he so called telling her off Maybe I should what!!...Apologize..." she said in a low serious voice as she walks slowly up to his face Listen umm! whatever your name is!! she says as if she doesn't care who he is, "This isn't about you, So I'll suggest you shut your trap and mind your own..and don't you ever talk about where I come from, and last but not least watch your tone when you talk to me, You don't know what I can do" she says as she clenched her teeth
Now fade I'm trying to get along with you , and I!...and I!.You know what I'm trying to say... she says while turning towards fade, trying to apologize to her, but it just can't come out her mouth
Fade's eyes squinted in a glare as Deathstar actually touched her hair. Her first impulse was to rapidly smack her hand away, but she kept to herself and folded her arms, wishing not to get in a fight. She had just come out of one and was not in the mood to pick a fight with someone at the mansion that she'd have to see probably every day. Ugh...everyday! No way could Jenny handle that! However, Deathstar was offering a kind of peace treaty between the two, and even though Fade was not the kind to let go of a grudge, she would need to let go and do it quickly...well, not too fast.
With Eaen's comment toward Deathstar, Fade's mood was immediately changed and her clenched teeth turned into a small smirk. He was sticking up for her. It was good to see that other people were annoyed by the girl and it wasn't just Fade's problem. This meant that she wasn't acting irrational or merely holding a grudge for Deathstar's interruption when she was with Raph.
"Yeah, obviously we'll be around eachother for a while, but not too much as you haven't become an X-Man, yet. We should put aside our differences, but don't flaunt your power, you should be proud that you have...whatever power it is that you have...but you shouldn't be so full of yourself, you don't know what he can do and I don't even believe that you know what I can do. There are more powerful mutants than you out there, I quite sure of it. Be careful of your threats because you could one day threaten someone much more powerful than you and the fight could be disasterous." Fade knew that her power was not much good in a fight, but whatever the hostile peace treaty would come to, she'd was prepared for any outcome, friendly or not. "You should learn that if you wish to become an X-Man, along with the narcissism factor."
Fade!!.. once again you seek to amaze me with your little comments but... she suddenly stopped her thoughts in fear that she might insul tand annoy fade in which she said she wouldn't do the difference between me and you fade is that! she pauses for a second trying to hold back her emotions, not trying to let her tough exterior fade away the difference is, you can move on with life, I can't, the reason why I annoy you is that I'm not like you ,I'm still stuck on the past, and i can't move on, but did she tells fade something for first time, that never told anyone in her life *she lets a small laugh out* Well i guess I did learn somethin in this dorky house.. she says to fade with a small grin on her face
The hair on the back of Eaen's neck stood on ends when Deathstar got into his face. He raised one eyebrow and even though he was turning red, for once he wasn't blushing. He smirked, something uncommon for the short portuguese/irish boy, and the outline of his body started to distort, it gave off the same effect that looking far down a paved road will give during the hottest days of the summer.
His teeth were clenched, and even though it may have looked like he was trying to contain his anger he really wasn't. Actually, he technically was trying to contain his anger. Miguel was a few insults away from busting loose and Eaen, as much as he wasn't getting good vibes from Deathstar, he didn't want her to get hurt.
<"I'm going to agree with Fade...">
"I'm going to have to agree with Fade..." Eaen said quietly, venom dripping from every word. "You never know when you're going to make someone angry who has plenty of power themselves."
<"You never know when you're going to make someone angry who has plenty of power themselves.">
The hair on Eaen's head flickered around a bit as if there were a light breeze in the room.
"Plus," Eaen continued. "If you really wanted me to butt out, you wouldn't have started this conversation in front of me. And for someone who was so eager to learn my name a few moments ago, it's funny that you no longer care what it is...."
'Miguel, stop.'
"And one last thing..." Eaen's lips curled up into a tighter smile. "Don't tell me what kind of tone to use."
However, what Deathstar had said to Fade last made Eaen's hair lay flate again, he unclenched his fists, and his body became normal again. Eaen had been given enough time to regain control. Seeing as how Deathstar had only annoyed him it didn't grant Miguel more than a few moments. Which Miguel wasted, in his opinion.
He leaned back up against the bookcase and looked at the ground trying to process what the blonde had said. It seemed strange to just dump something like that on people you hardly knew. Or at least he got the impression that Fade and Deathstar didn't know each other very well. Plus, how did she go from being highly agitated and antagonizing, to being emotional and offering information that she had never told anyone before?
It seemed strange to Eaen, out of place, planned, anything besides a natural confession. However, compassion was a double-edged sword for him and his expression softened. As opposed to switching opinions on the girl as quickly as Deathstar did at the cost of sounding flakey, he looked at the floor and waited to see how Fade would react. He despretly hoped that things would calm down quickly, he didn't want conflict right out of the gate.
To think, just minutes before he was having a perfectly normal conversation with Fade.
<"You should have let me taken care of her.">
'Shut up Miguel.'
<"I could have done more. She wouldn't threaten you anymore! She'd learn her lesson Eaen...">
'I said shut up.'
<"pft... That's what's wrong with you Eaen. You chose compassion over respect.">
'You don't gain respect by kicking the crap out of every person who annoys you.'
<"Maybe not... but at least they'll know not to annoy you again.">
Eaen then remained silent on all terrains and just glanced up at Fade. He gave a half smile, he hoped he hadn't come off as a total spaz. He didn't realize that Miguel's reality distortion had made an appearance and his hair flickered, very obvious signs that he wasn't in control. Then again, the girls didn't know what those things meant either.
As deathstar was talking with fade, she notice the new mutants power go into play, she stared for a moment, not fearing his mutant powers cause deathstar has seen worse, after the new mutant calmed down you really got issues if you think your going to kill me, I think you need to get that under control.. she told eaen as she gave a friendly push on the shoulder, why exactly are you here? , she told eaen with a confused look on her face, not knowing what to make out the situation

At that moment Zeke slipped into the library. He quietly walked up behind Fade and then spoke, "What was that you said? About killing? I think that's quite out of place in this school." He had a stern look on his face as he crossed the room and sat in a comfortable looking chair. He had been in the library before, but not too often and never long. He had enough of his own books to keeo him busy. "We don't need a confrontation here. If you have a problem, you come to one of us faculty and we discuss it calmy, you don't talk about killing each other."
Zeke took a deep breath and his eyes moved from mutant to mutant accross the room. As a professor at the school it was his job to keep things under control. He may be new, but he still had responsibilities. Besides that, he was still a little uneasy for the school's safety, and who was to say the danger wouldn't attack from the inside? "Now, what seems to be the trouble... I don't think I know any of you personally yet. I've seen you around and heard your name mentioned Fade," he motioned towards the girl, "but I don't think I've been formally aquainted. "What are your names, and what is going on here?" He asked authoritatively.
"Umm..." Eaen looked up at Glare as he walked over. "Deathstar is the one who made reference to any sort of killing..." Eaen sighed. This was not how he had planned on meeting new people. He didn't like how Deathstar was talking to him, and although he said it more to the floor than to the blonde girl he did say, "And Deathstar, I dunno where you got any idea about me killing you. I never had that intention."
He looked over at Fade with a heavily defeated look before looking back at Glare. He didn't know how Deathstar managed to come over and start trouble and now he was the one who looked back. Well, at least Deathstar wasn't dumb. The girl knew what she was doing. Eaen looked around and wondered how to make a quick exit.
'Do you see what you did? Now, on my first day, I seem like a murderous psychopath.'
<"Dude... Talk to the girl doing all this stuff. Not me. I'm not the one busting in on your conversation slinging insults...">
Eaen sighed audiably, before wishing he hadn't of come to the library. He didn't want to have such a rough start here. However, maybe it was inevitable. Eventually him and Deathstar would have bumped into each other and they probably wouldn't have gotten along under any conditions. However, that didn't make him feel anybetter. He pulled himself in a little closer up against the bookshelf and just tried to wait it out. He didn't like being closed in, it was a phobia he developed when he was younger. People watching him after he supposedly did something wrong, such as speaking his mind, it brought him back to a place he didn't want to be.
<"That's it Eaen... they're going to kick you out. You messed up bad this time dude. Face it. You can't have normal relationships with people. After what you did to me... You're just going to be alone for the rest of your life. You can't become close to anyone else. Haven't you heard of karma?">
Eaen winced a little. He felt like there was truth in what Miguel was saying, and it stung, however, he knew what Miguel was trying to do and he wouldn't play into it.
'You want out again. I got it. But stop. It's not going to happen.'
Eaen crossed his arms and waited for something, anything to happen.
deathstar stood there for a moment in silence not trying to get to know the professor, but eventually she saw a new mutant and didn't want to give him a hard time, i'm layla but you can call me deathstar, if you want someone to blame for the confrontation, it was me!..I started the whole thing she says with a confident look in her eyes as if she is defensive, once again doing something deathstar rarely does and thats owning up to her responsibility
Deathstar looks towards fade and eaen, the whole killing thing was a joke!, right eaen! for assurance she softly nudge his shoulder as if he was her little brother, for some reason its something about Eaen that reminds her of herself, that person she was runnig from all these years, but didn't want to tell him, known to everone for having a tough exterior
Eaen was shocked that Deathstar was trying to take the blame. His expression softened a bit and he smiled lightly. "Yeah, the killing thing was completely harmless... we... were just joking around over here."
Eaen glanced over at Fade before continuing. Maybe him and Deathstar had just gotten off on the wrong foot? Maybe she was right about having more to her beneathe the surface? Regardless, he was okay with standing alongside Deathstar and letting Glare get back to what he had come here planning to do.
Eaen smiled at Deathstar lightly before taking a deep breath. "And by starting it what Deathstar really means is..." Eaen rubbed his shoulder, he wasn't used to lieing. "that she was the one who came over and started joking around with us. She didn't actually do anything to cause any confrontation."
<"Heh... I guess you're even more two-faced than anyone ever thought.">
Eaen paused for a second and frowned. 'I dunno how I feel about Deathstar yet... but if she's willing to take a bomb like that, maybe she regrets the way she acted... I'm starting to feel that maybe I was a little harsh on her.'
<"Get over your little saint act Eaen. I'm not buying it, and soon enough everyone else is going to catch on too. You're not as great as you think you are.">
'Can you just stop it for once? Is it so wrong of me to just want this ugly event to end? Quite frankly, I just want to discover the kitchen, get food, and call it a night.'
<"And buy a train ticket home. You are going to quit this place right?">
Eaen stopped for a moment before sighing. 'I thought about it... but I guess I've already jumped headfirst into it. So I might as well see where it brings me.'
