The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Nicki laughed at Kaz's reaction almost choking on her own soda at that point. She stood up and undid her jeans, lowering them and stepping out. She put them to the side and sat back down, crossing her legs.
"Nah, I don't think so. She was so taken back by that I could hear her I don't think she remembers making the angry comment about you never mentioning a girlfriend" Nicki smiled brightly, taking her soda and sipping it again.

Kaz nearly choked again when Nicki stood up and undid her jeans. He couldn't take his eyes off of her. He watched them fall down to the floor revealing inch after inch of her legs. That and the fact she was still wearing her shirt, was turning Kaz on greatly. Mentally he gave a low whistle at Nicki. He was so intent on watching her that he didn't actively catch what she said about Vibe. It took a moment for his mind to rewind and play back her words. Kaz laughed thinking about Vibe and Nicki. "Well, it's not like they ever asked. Though I'm surprised she'd be angry about that. They both seem like fairly calm girls.

Nicki laughed as Kaz called them "calm girls". "Honey, you weren't hearing what they were thinking. Their first thoughts were about you and then about finding a way to 'playing' with me" Nicki laughed, sipping her coke again and sliding off her shirt, laying it over with her pants. "I think they're a little more wicked than you give them credit for...that being said, I like them a lot" Nicki chuckled.

"Calm as in they don't show their emotions, at least not strong ones often. I know they're more wicked than they look. They're also a lot more childish. But they can be fun to hang out with." Kaz watched as Nicki pealed off her shirt, this was getting better and better. Kaz's smile widened on his face. "What kind of playing were they thinking of?" <Maybe I'll have to have a talk with them....> Kaz took a few sips from his pop before looking over at the grill to see how the coals were burning. "I guess if you like them then that's good." He said with a shrug.

Nicki watched as Kaz started back towards the grill. "Kaz, this can't be the first time that two girls have liked you at the same time. I mean...come on. You've never noticed little snide remarks or little digs at one another? I'm sure it would have been petty little stuff, no problem" Nicki chuckled, feeling the sun on her skin.
She stood up and walked to the pool, diving in elegantly and swimming to the other side. She emerged again, walking towards the grill where Kaz was starting to put on the food. "You're gonna let me swim alone?" Nicki chuckled, leaning over and wringing her hair out over his shoulder.

Kaz moved a few of the coal around before setting the T-Bones on the grill along with the wrapped potatoes. Thinking about Nicki's words for a moment before speaking. "Not really. Well, not before High School. I was a loner, I was never in school. Always off doing my own thing. Even in High School I had to repeat two years cuz I was never there." Kaz laughed. "Even when I was there, I wasn't." Putting a bit of seasoning on the steaks he continued. "I didn't really notice if they did. I didn't pay that much attention. I dated who I wanted to whether or not they attacked each other." When Nicki rang her hair out on his shoulder he shuddered. "Hey!" Laughing he grabbed Nicki and kissed her as he pulled her next to the pool and in with him as he 'fell' in.

"You really weren't paying attention in high school...girls do that petty shit to each other everyday" Nicki laughed, pushing him a little.
She chuckled as Kaz kissed her and they fell in the water. She smiled as they surfaced, her arms wrapped around his neck. "You know the food's gonna burn now..." Nicki chuckled, leaning in and kissing him again. "This is so much better than how I thought this day was going to turn our Kaz..."

"Pay attention in high school? Why would I do something as boring as that?" He asked, half serious half joking. As they broke the surface of the water he put one arm on the middle of her back the other under her ass. "It won't burn, I'll check it in a few minutes." He kissed her generously. After breaking the kiss, he looked at her semi-seriously. "How did you think the day would turn out?" He kept moving his legs enough to keep them both above the water but not enough to make a dig disturbance under the water.

Nicki readjusted herself, allowling her legs to wrap around Kaz's waist and settling a little closer to him. She kept her forehead against his, one arm around his neck and the other toying with the hair above his ear. Her smile faded only a little.
"When I came over to see you, I thought you were part of something really dark. And not by proxy...but actually involved you know? I wanted it to not be real but I knew there was a shot that it was. I prepared myself for that shot...and I was worried was all" Nicki shrugged, looking into those red eyes again.

Kaz smiled as Nicki wrapped legs around his waist. He saw the smile fade from her face a slight bit and it made his heart sink. He listened to each word that came from her soft lips, the tone in which they were said told something stronger than the actual words. She deserved every bit of truth. Nodding at her words, though not enough to move either of their foreheads much, he took a breath and spoke. "I had considered it. Just because I wanted there to be change. I was almost ready to overlook a lot of things to make that change happen. As you know, there IS a darker side of me. I don't deny it. Denying it would be denying a part of who I am. That part of me was very tempted to just let everything continue." A smile moved across his face, wider than it had been. "If it wasn't for you, I don't doubt that I would have gone with it, indulged my darker side, my darker desires." He kissed her nose gently, "But I didn't. I left. I'm done with it. If there's going to be change, I'll figure out a different way to make it happen. But for now," Kaz pulled Nicki closer whispering into her ear, "I just want to be here with you."

"You give me too much credit Kaz...way too much" Nicki smiled, kissing him softly. "I didn't do anything. All I did was tell you that you have a better side and I think you knew it anyway. You would have done the right thing, with or without me guilting you in the corner" Nicki chuckled before looking at him a little more seriously. "Kaz I don't know why you doubt the good person that you are...how can you not see all that good that's inside you?"
She smiled, rubbing her cheek against his. "I'm glad to be here with you" she smiled.

Kaz has his reasons for doubting the good within him. Mainly Sarrus and it's influence on Kaz. He wasn't going to bring it up right now. It wasn't the time or place. "Maybe I do, maybe I don't." He smiled at Nicki. "Before I met you...I did what I wanted, when I wanted, without caring who it effected, human or mutant. I guess I still do for the most part." He chuckled a bit. "But now, I take a step back and think before I do most things. One of the things that comes to my head is: Will Nicki kill me for doing this?" He looked directly in Nicki's eyes and gave her a sly smile and a wink.
They floated in the water for many long moments until Kaz caught whiff of something. Looking up above the pool, he saw smoke coming from the grill. "Crap! They're burning." Though they were indeed burning, he didn't try to get out of the water.

"I still think you're giving me too much credit. But whatever makes you feel better about doing the right thing' Nicki laughed, leaning in for another kiss.
"Pansy" Nicki laughed, swimming away from Kaz and getting out of the water. She walked over to the grill and grabbed the tongs. She flipped the steaks, looking them over. She grabbed the salt and started seasoning again. "How did you want yours?" Nicki asked, looking over to Kaz, still in the water.

Kaz watched Nicki get out of the water and head to the food. He had no problem watching her take care of it. In fact he rather liked watching her,the water dripping off her bare skin as she walked. "I don't really care, if it's still possible medium rare. If not as close to it as possible." He couldn't help but laugh as he swam over to the edge of the pool putting his arms on the side and resting his chin on his arms, looking up at his girl. "Anything interesting going on at the mansion?" He asked only because he wanted to know how her life there was going. "Everything going alright for you there?"

Nicki took the platter that was over towards the side and took both the steaks off the grill. She smiled back at Kaz. "It's okay I guess. I don't really talk to a lot of people..." She shrugged. "I mean, outside of the guy who I found this stuff out from, and this guy Michael and Nika...I don't think I've talk to anyone that has been in any signifigant way" she shrugged again. She felt weird talking about the school. She was hoping she would be fitting in by now...but the fact of the matter was...she was only starting to come out of her shell. It was weird.
"Are you gonna come and eat or what hon?" she looked over at him.
