The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Ire pointed to the floor.
"Worry not your blade lies there. As for mine, I believe they are suiting. I miss my others but it's time to start anew but I could never forget our time."
Orion smiled that mischevious smile he always did when he was up to something. "In time that will be taken care of as well. For now however, who wants some coffee?" he asked as he started to get up a little stiffly. Heading over to the fire he picked up the Kettle and headed over to the stream. Coming back with a full kettle he started to pour coffee into it as he awaited an answer.

Ire was slightly curious as to what this 'coffee' was but declined. The smell did little to gain his attention. Something had been bothering him however and needed to ask.
"Orion I have a question to ask. Nelrith, was he ever killed? Last I saw of him was his shadow as I twisted into the abyss of time."
"Him castng that curse upon you that took you from me, shook the very foundations of my control. Just before he died his fear cause him to confess when you would be returned to me. A rage had been arisen that could only be quenched by his blood staining the very tower you fell from. For many weeks after that I traveled the country side hoping he had only thrown your body and I could bring you back somehow. After quite some time I came to terms with your demise, and attempted to move on. Occasionally I would come across another magician or witch and ask if they knew how to make the moon red and make it drip. None knew of this and to my dismay Witches and Warlocks, began to die away and not be replaced by their offspring. The times began to change and I came to terms with the fact that Id never see you again." Orion said as he sat down again and took a sip of his cup. Tricity too sipped her cup and made a face. He forgot she liked sugar in hers.

Ire thought for a minute then spoke.
"Thank you for avenging me in my altered state, I only wish I could have killed him myself. This gauntlet is a constant reminder of the pain he caused me. But what matters is that he is no more."
"Yes, this gauntlet, is what Ive been curious about. Explain to me what it is and how it works." Orion asked as he settled himself even closer to Tricity and she leaned against him now. He noticed she was exceptionally quiet tonight but then again she was learning so much that she had not known. If he were learning this much at one time hed keep silent and learn as much as he could too. Still he couldnt help but smile when she linked her fingers through his.

Taking a deep breath he began.
“It began when I had just finished a mission for a man in the village of Renist, he had sent me to kill his cheating wife. He paid me quite well when I brought him her head. After receiving my payment I left Renist to travel to Alinar, our home. In the forest I came upon a large crater. My curiosity got the best of me and I made my way to the bottom of this basin with my wits about me. That’s when I saw Nelrith. He appeared as if out of thin air and the top of the crater was covered by a field of energy. Nelrith looked at me from under his hood with that sneer that was always on his face, I’ll never forget it.”
Ire’s eyes flashed black then quickly back to his green.
“He then told me that he needed me, needed me to kill for him. I refused and this did not bode well with the stubborn wizard. Though stubborn he was no fool, he brandished his hand and pointed a energy searing finger at me. He said that if I did not help him he would make me do it. I simply laughed and told him that there was nothing he could do to make me obey. I was wrong.”
Ire’s hand shot to his gauntlet and the darkness returned to his eyes. Gritting his teeth to keep the shadows from tearing him apart inside he continued.
“Somehow he tapped into my powers and increased them ten fold. I could no longer sustain them and for two days the entire world was covered in darkness sending in a premature winter without the suns rays. Many died in those two days, nothing could stop me. I was so enraged at the world so…angr….”
Ire was now shaking violently with a dark aura encasing his gauntlet but he pressed on.
“F..F..Finaly late in the second day a man named Deltar came. He could see perfectly in the darkness and had a very strange light about him. In his hand shone a crimson gauntlet, yes the very same I ware. I charged the man in my berserk state and that’s when the darkness ended. Deltar gave his life energy to the gauntlet at the last moment leaving only the gauntlet. The gauntlet rose and connected instantly to my left arm. The world was then bright again other then the multitude of destruction I left in the darkness’s wake. After that I’ve asked many wizards what the gauntlet had done and they have told me that the focal point of my inner darkness is my left hand. In short if I ever am not wearing this gauntlet I will become the beast of old.”
"I always wondered where you were during those days of dark. There was a rumor of such a beast out far to the west of me, but I assumed if you had anything to do with it you would be fighting it and winning. I didn't think you were the cause of so much power." Orions face showed an apologetic nature.
"If you ever need help with it, you can come to me and I wont stop until our goal is reached, my friend. Never again will I lose you." Orions voice was strong and deep again. It reverberated against the walls and rumbled deep into the Cave.

Ire regained his composer.
"At times I feel as if the darkness will tear me apart. If I do not focus on it I'm sure it will. Orion I need you to promise me something. If I ever am consumed by the darkness I want you to be the one to kill me."
Orion tried to say something but Ire interrupted.
"Listen, remember back when you, I, and Chaos battled. The darkness that I released then is nothing compared to what I will unleash if I lose myself. You have to be the one to do it."
"If you ever are to find yourself in that position again it will be I who failed. If your wish is for me to end your life then so be it, but be warned I will not retreat to that end hastily by any means." Orions voice now back to normal showing he was feeling much better conveyed a strong dislike for killing such a loyal friend of som many years.

Ire was now fully under control of the darkness again and smiled.
"Thank you friend, I hope that day never comes. But I find my self slipping every now and then. Like when I hurled that officer through the face of the beast...I mean 'car'."
Orion chuckled at this correction. "I think its time that I teach you some things about this new world of ours." Orion chuckled as he began a lengthy but crash course about the thing of the world Ire was going to encounter in day-to-day life. Ire asked many questions. He and Tricity tried to answer them to the best of their abilities. Tricity started to really get into comparing things from the medieval times to modern times for Ire. Ire couldn't help but smile as his two friends sat there educating him as much as they could so he could survive in the new world.

Ire had learned a lot about the new world and felt a bit better about his surroundings.
"Thank you for your help, but these cars are not to my liking. My own two feet seem like more reliable transportation. Let's just say I'll leave the driving to you two if I can help it."
Orions grin spread again. "Hey, Im game for any kind of driving at anytime so you need but call upon me and I shall arrive in the roar of thunder." The grin split into a smile and then they all laughed at this metaphore. He was notorious for having loud vehicles and driving fast. Even Ire had suspected this and laughed at this unwitty humor.

As the laughter died out Ire put his mask back on and a look of seriousness crossed his eyes.
"Orion, I've told Tricity of your wife and a bit of your past. I hope this is to your liking. I felt she must be informed. She cares for you, I don’t need to tell you that, but you take care of her."
