Oh good, she was scooting closer. That definitely meant he hadn’t broken any rules.
Lee pointed out that the cup actually wasn’t the main character of this particular movie and when she make her little joke Tarin actually laughed out loud. God, how long had it been since he laughed like that?
Lee then pointed out that she was amenable to the hand-holding and Tarin scooched his way into no man’s land, far enough that he could reach Lee’s hand and entwine their fingers.
More auditions were happening now and a whole cast of unique characters were being assembled. It was weirdly like a superhero ensemble movie.

Lee grinned when she heard Tarin laugh at her joke. Though he was doing so much better now than when she had first run across him in the park, Lee didn’t think she had ever heard him laugh quite like that before.
It was a great thing to hear.
After her whispered words, Tarin moved a bit closer to her as well, and a moment later they were holding hands. It was something so small and simple, just holding hands on the couch, but Lee smiled over at Tarin happily before turning back to the movie. Yes, she had been the one who had said there needed to be ground rules, at least to start, and she’d been the one to state that even this kind of thing wasn’t allowed in common areas until after she’d been able to really talk to Kevin about the two of them. But she would feel if Kevin came out of his room before he’d be able to see them.
And this really did feel nice.
Lee was brought out of her thoughts when she heard Tarin speaking again, and she turned to look at him. ”Of course there is,” she said. ”What kind of movie would this be if there wasn’t? And since this group is all girls, the rival group is obviously all guys.”

This group was all girls, so of course the other group was all boys.
They were holding hands now, and it was very nice, very calm, very right, Tarin couldn’t help but think as he stroked his thumb over the back of Lee’s hand.
”Does the main girl singer end up with the main guy singer?” Tarin asked, leaning his head back against the back of the couch and rolling it to the side so he could see Lee. The bruise on her jaw really was going to be wicked. ”Because it would be downright poetic.”
They watched the movie together for a bit like that, just holding hands and Tarin sighed contentedly, ”When we can, I want to take you to a movie.” he said quietly.

The small smile stayed on Lee’s face as they continued to watch the movie. It felt so nice…Lee couldn’t help but think that it would be even nicer if she were able to cuddle up next to Tarin as they watched the movie. But even if Kevin was asleep, there was no guarantee he wouldn’t wake up, that he would stay in his room until the movie was over. And after the day she’d had at the gym, Lee wasn’t confident enough about being able to move to the other side of the couch as soon as she noticed Kevin’s energy moving.
So holding hands while there was enough space on the couch between them for another person it would have to be.
When she heard Tarin speaking, Lee turned to look at him, smiling wider as she saw the way that he’d turned to face her. ”They do,” Lee confirmed, giving his hand a slight squeeze. ”It’s even more obvious if you watch from the very beginning. Out of all of the possible people and all the chaos, those two run into each other on move in day. But it can’t be too easy for them, there’s still too much movie left for the couple to live happily ever after.”
The movie continued and Lee turned her eyes back to it, becoming as engrossed in the movie as she could be while being very happily aware of Tarin’s hand in hers.
Engrossed in the movie until she heard Tarin speak again. ”I would love that, Tarin,” Lee whispered as she smiled, squeezing his hand again. ”Hopefully soon. Hopefully very soon.”
