The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Elizabeth stopped flooding the kits with sedative feelings once the cage was closed, but she did keep a mental eye on them. If one of them even started thinking about spraying, she was going to lock that down so fast.
In light of the news she’d just delivered, Liz watched Aura for any sign of…well, anything. The love of the skunks for the woman was a positive thing in Elizabeth’s books. It didn’t excuse being a self-professed mass murderer, and neither did wanting to be a good parent, for that matter, but it was at least something positive Liz could cling to without wanting to run screaming out of the room. Such behaviors had a tendency to provoke violent responses.
Attempting to be surreptitious, Liz jotted down these new notes of the woman’s cult. “Like I said, I can’t guarantee it actually means anything other than just liking you, but even that isn’t a bad thing.” She smiled warmly, the way animal lovers tend to do when talking about how great their animals are.
Liz shook her head and waved her hand. “Oh don’t worry about it,” she said, getting ready to blatantly lie. “I’m glad I could help, even if I couldn’t do everything you wanted.” She glanced around her classroom - it still wasn’t fully clean. “But yeah, appointments never hurt - depending on what’s needed I might need to make preparations ahead of time.” Such as having an entire team of X-Men hiding under her desk.
Aura’s question made Liz falter for a moment. Normally she wasn’t thrilled with going into many details about her powers, since she felt most people got squicked out when telepathy and manipulation were involved, much less possession, but she was hesitant for a different reason now. While non-threatening, this Aura was a predator and Liz wasn’t about to just reveal her soft underbelly. “Not always,” she lied. Possessing things always rendered her helpless. Then again, her other powers didn’t, so it wasn’t really a lie. “It just makes things more convenient.”
She started shuffling some random papers into a pile. “Is there anything else I can help you with?” she asked.
The Teacher lady was so kind, no wonder Alex was so smart. Aura could tell she was trying to comfort her so she would not be upset that she could not tell for sure. She wondered again at the scale of the woman's powers/ "It's more then i figured i would obtain and....I now know who to call the next time i fail to locate a Kodiak Bear i brought to central park for training. Only ever found the female" she joked to try and cheer the woman up thinking she felt dissipointed she could not provide Aura's with a more concrete answer. SHe had never found the large male Bear but it had been over five or six years so Aura simply assumed it worked itself out.
"I have always been fascinated by the diversity of mutant powers, Seems inconvenient for defense though. Still i'm sure your fantastic at getting cat's outa trees or finding run away dogs" she said unsure what else to add on her powers. Aura knew little about them and well interested was not about to press the woman on the topic, not when she had been so helpful. Some mutants were defensive about their powers and some liked a more personal approach to their powers. Aura was open about hers becuse most of it was easily findable online.
"Oh, not that i can think of. But if you ever wanna chat, my numbers in Alex's file. Im Pretty open. Oh Right, DId you want one of the remaining kits?" she asked putting them back in their cage and waiting for a reply, before making her way to the exit. Aura never did pick up the woman might of been scared of her and thus assumed she was just a kind person willing to help random people. She would have to tell others when she could, though she would advise them to make an appointment if she found somone who needed Liz's powers.

This woman had let a Kodiak loose in the park?! Elizabeth’s brow furrowed in alarm and she opened her mouth, but then she stopped for a moment, thought about it, and shut her mouth. She tilted her head in a birdlike manner. That…was a joke, right? At least part of it? It has to be a joke. Right? Right? Liz straightened her head and her wavy locks jostled back over her shoulders. Right. It was a joke. That was the only option she was going to accept.
She smiled in completely feigned amusement, perhaps a second or two later, but at least she didn’t look nervous. Hopefully. Better to be thought of as lacking a sense of humor than showing potential fear around a predator. Even one as disarming and….personable as this one. “Uh, yes, I’ve been known to save the local firefighters a trip now and then,” she said as she tried to catch up on what on Earth they were doing. Did the other teachers have PTA meetings with serial killers?!
But at least this was wrapping up. Excellent. Great. Hallelulah. Because now that she’d ascertained that she had been no help whatsoever to the woman (no matter how graciously Aura took it) and now that she didn’t have a unique anthropology study to distract herself with, Liz was increasingly being aware of who she was talking to and just how badly things go go if they…went badly.
“Uh yes, yeah, I’ll definitely call you,”[/i] Liz lied through her teeth as she slapped on her sincerest smile. “And if you need anything else, feel free to set up an appointment.” So I can have some X-Men standing by! And she blinked as once again the woman was….friendly. “Ah, no thank you, I’ve got quite a few pets already and my dog wouldn’t appreciate the competition,” she said quickly. She didn’t want to risk a skunk in the mansion, even one under her supervision.
Liz didn’t stop smiling until the woman left. Or for twenty seconds after that. Only then did she sink down into her chair, drop the facade, and let out a deep breath.
Then she sat up, picked up her phone, and called Sam about the self-professed serial killer who’d just waltzed into the mansion!
