CharacterPersonality: She is serious and calm while teaching, running no nonsense class rooms and sticking to the rules for the most part, believing ones grades must be earned. While she will talk with students who bring poor grades, if a student refuses to put in the work she will happily let the kid fail. Those who show effort and a want to improve however will get more help if she can provide it. For her it's all about the effort she receives from each student. She also feels that learning to fail in the classroom is good for students as it teaches them they can fail in life and so to always try. She loves kids and has a tendency to be motherly to them.
Out of the classroom she takes a much more hyper role, revealing a playful side, as happy to play a game with a student or another teacher as she is to sit down and read a new book. Out of the classroom she is more willing to help students with non school work and is quite willing to talk with students who present issues to her as well as give peers a shoulder to cry on or talk with. She is bold and willing to voice her opinion weather the other person wants to hear it or not but will make the effort to put it delicately if she has the time. She will not spare someones feeling however believing honestly is the quickest way to start addressing, conquering and getting over ones problems.
She hates liars, even if someone is trying to spare her own feelings, preferring the truth in all things. She also has a fear of being alone and isolation and will often quickly develop a panic attack if she fears no one else is near by, even strangers. To this end she tends to stick to areas she know others will be in as she also fears getting lost. She enjoys places with a lot going on and constant stimulation including parties and large gatherings, it's a key reason she likes NYC. To her being busy and active in some form is key as much as she can and energizes her. She is also prone to changing topics and weaving in and out of multiple conversations.
Hobbies/ Interests: She enjoys acquiring historical artifacts when she can and has a small collection. She also has an interest in telescopes and the stars enjoying tracking the planets movements through the sky and keeping up with new news in the field. She also has a solid interest in writing and wants to one day write a book on the history of mutant kind. She enjoys bad musicales as well, more then even better produced ones though she makes an exception for Disney. She practices Yoga as well.

MoralityGood/ bad/ neutral/ other: Mostly Good, she believes in cooperation and togetherness. She will not kill without being forced to do so. She would kill to save a student for example but their would need to be no other options available. She would never steal but would hide a student if they were in trouble and she thought the issue miner enough. She has had a few scrapes with the law, mostly at pro mutant rallies for equal treatment and the like and has been to a few countries with friends to attend them.
Feelings toward Humans: She likes humans, though she thinks they will sadly one day become extinct. She believes while their are bad humans out there most are good and just afraid of all the violence and chaos that seems to follow larger mutant communities. That said her study of history has taught her what a community feeling cornered can and might do and hopes it will not lead to more violence then already occurs.
Feelings toward Adapteds: She trusts them, from a distance, It's not that she dislikes them it's more the odd uncomfortable feel of lack of stimulation they bring to her through her powers, making her feel isolated and abnormal. She will avoid those she does not know well enough, or at least stay out of their field.
Feelings toward Mystics: She has little experience with mystics but sees them much like mutants and thinks history might soon repeat itself with them, recalling all the harsh things mutants experienced to make it as far as they have, she fears mystics will have to repeat those steps.
MutationsVision Coils, Enhanced multitasking.
Mutation description:Detection coils, starting at her wrists and extending back through her arm and shoulder are twelve blue green half inch wide tendrils. These coils are connected directly to her spinal column and specially made nerve clusters. These tendrils can extend from her wrist nearly six feet and while she has full control over their movement able to hold them up in the air without her hands for example, her control is not good enough to grab or hold anything. The tendril's are also slippery to the touch from her body's natural lubrication for the tendrils movement. The tip of each tendril is bruise purple in color and sharply pointed, each tip can retract revealing an eye like structure within. The tendril's feed sensory information to the nerve clusters in her spine then to her brain. Ir order to process the extra information her brain is able to keep track of multiple things at once. Tendrils are pair one right, one left arm.
Tendril Pair One : The revealed eye is red in color and can see heat much like infrared vision. Able to detect/see much like an infrared telescope might, even through solid objects letting her see people are strong sources of heat through walls. It also lends her a degree of night vision.
Tendril Pair Two : The revealed eye is milky white in color and works much like a telescope might, letting her see things much further away then her normal sight would allow, and enhancing her sight by nearly twenty times. The eye is bad for looking at anything close however and to it anything closer then twenty feet will seem blurry to her. It magnify's fifty times.
Tendril Pair Three ): The revealed eye has a soft blue color and let's her see the aura's of others around her. With this eye she can detect other Mutants, mystics and adapteds, adapteds being detected by the lack of anything around the person. The eye can only detect mutants who's x gene is active or mystics that have their powers. Mutants look Blue and Mystics look green.
Tendril Pair Four This eye is dark purple in color and allows Mae to detect radiation around her, while miner every day radiation is filtered out, the eye can detect harmful amounts in the direction the eye is looking.
Tendril Pair Five This eye is silver and and functions much like a bird of preys eye, however with vision the equivalent of a hawks.
Tendril Pair six (Right Arm) This eye is pink in color and works much like a microscope would, allowing her to see small objects up close making them nearly twenty times bigger. It has trouble seeing things that are far away.
Strengths: Each one of the tendrils is a tightly packed bundle of nerve coils with connections to her spine and is relayed to her brain for processing. She can deploy up two four of the six tendril's at a time. Each Tendril is six feet long and prehensile meaning she can move them in any way she needs to to see around corners or above a wall. Each one also has a sharp tip that functions like a sheath for the eyes and is sharp enough to cut flesh. Her various eyes let her see a lot of different things and her brain processes this information as fast as if it came from her natural eyes. With her various Tendrils she can see in the dark, see sources of electricity or look up into the stars, look at germs and see active x genes all with a glance and let her look in several directions at once. Her brain is also wired to process information giving her enhanced multitasking when dealing with her tendril eyes and the information they grant her. She can deploy four different tendrils and have 5 types of vision at once.
Weaknesses and Limitations: The tendrils can cut flesh but are not made for combat, their no stronger then her own skin against attack and the tendrils are tightly packs with nerve ending meaning swinging one at someone could hurt a lot. While her power let's her detect many things to much information from her tendrils can overwhelm her senses and knock her out, from information overload. Most of the eyes don't see any further then her normal eyes could and even then only detect the thing their specialized in. She could detect radiation for example but the eye would never see the spike trap on the floor. Just because she can see something also does not mean she knows what it is. She can see radiation for example but if shes not familiar with the type she would have no idea what it was only that it is dangerous. Her brain is expecting various types of information at once and so when not using her powers she can get board easily much ADHD. While her brain desires a lot of stimulation from her eyes can knock her out, staring into the sun with her radiation detecting eye for example. Or with her x gene/mystic detecting eye she can see mutants and mystics but she has no way to know what those powers might be. While she can deploy up to four tentacles if she does not deploy them in their pairs she will lack depth perception with those eyes and makes figuring out distance harder as well. The more vision types the more her brain can get overwhelmed by the information.

History Of Your Character She was born in Berlin where her parents both teachers taught High school, her mom English and her dad history. She spent just five years there before her dad got a teaching job at a university in Portugal. Growing up in Portugal she took her after her dad finding a love for history at a young age. Her parents taught her to see the world as a story still be written in which we all but actors. Well never a bad student she also never sought to excel and often got average grades when she could of done better. She begged her parents to buy her a telescope at ten after seeing one on TV and developed quick and deep love as space.
Late in high school her dad passed from a sudden and unexpected heart attack and this event triggered something in Mae and she started trying to excel in her studies and help others learn as well. She initially went to collage to learn to study astronomy and with a dream of operating one of the big telescopes around the world. However she quickly discovered the math required and spotting tiny differences in pictured were not her strength and for the first time in her studies truly failed. Her mom encouraged her to keep trying or try something else and after chatting with her mom she decided to give teaching a try.
Mae was going to her first class to get her teaching degree when she suddenly collapsed in pain. The 25 year old woman was rushed to the Hospital but the doctors could find little wrong other then some swelling in her arms and a migraine and gave her light medication for it. During her final year of Teaching Collage she was accused of plagiarism but just before they were going to cancel her credit for the class it came to light that another student had copied her work and handed it in first, Mae avoided being kicked out when she could explain her reasoning for her written work in history and her fellow student could not. This incident made mae despise deception and liars and gave her an almost automatic distrust for those she catches doing so within reason.
At twenty eight her migraines had gotten worse as had the periodic swelling in her arms, both of which seemed to fade whenever she went to her doctor, nether of which knew her DR was an adapted. Her Doctor suggested a vacation to calm herself and perscibed strong migraine and swelling pills. She went across the ocean to NYC and felt somehow calmed by the hustle and activeness of the place and decided to stay applying to teach in the USA as she worked on becoming a citizen. She taught for two years in high school history before a fire started in the building and in the panic a pair of tendrils ripped out of her wrist with a small amount of blood letting her guide her class through the smoke to safety.
Mae is not sure what to make of her new powers but decided to apply at Xavoirs to both learn better control over her power and to help others learn the subject she loved, history and maybe even some astronomy. Mae is a bit scared of the big change in her life but she wants to make the most of it and help others through their own experiences as well, feeling its likely way harder to get your power as a young kid then as late as she did.

Sample RP: Mae could not sit still, even as she looked at herself in the mirror, Black dress pants and a white button down silk blouse with a black blazer over it. She was confident she could do the work but did fear what the Mansion might say on her relatively low experience as well as her only having her powers such a short time. She glanced at her wrists the skin flaps closed like trap doors but she could spot the lines separating the skin flaps from where the tendrils would slid out. As she focussed on them the infrared tendrils slid out the right one banging off the sink which caused Mae to yelp in pain and rub the tendril. She grimaced a bit at the strange lubricating liquid, it was mostly water though something it it made it cling to the tendrils. Rubbing it anyway she focused making them retract.
She made sure her hair was right one last time, secured in a prim and proper bun and left her apartment, checking her phone as it beeped to see her mom wishing her luck. She had never actually been in the mansion but had seen pictures of it and knew it was rather large and that most students and Teachers lived within which considering the rent in the city would be helpful on her pocket book as well. She glanced at her arms she could feel the tendrils subtle movements in her arm and it sorta felt like a worm or snake was in her arm but she ignored it.
Making it to her car she was glad she had left early as traffic was a nightmare, still she arrived almost did teen minutes early and took a moment to check her purse to make sure she had everything, even a folder with her resume and accolades and proof she made it through collage though she doubted any of them were really needed as she had submitted all her info online.

"It's Mae here for an interview to teach history" she said in her most confident voice. She glanced through the bar's and saw a kid who looked to be made of sand and another who looked like a squirrel of some sort. She smiled brighter at seeing them and even noted a very patient Black at watching the two kids play at the far end of the mansion in her sight.[/div]
