Description of ability(ies): Flloyd can see other people's fears. Flloyd can seemingly embody a person's fears at will. Think of a boggart. The fear isn't actually there unless Flloyd exploits knowing the person's fear to actually set something up I.e.: If a person if afraid of spiders he can make them think they are covered in spiders but he can't actually call spiders from nowhere. However once he's met someone he can tell what their fears are (As if in a vision instantly upon meeting them) and thus if he meets them again he can be prepared with either a generated hallucination or actually bring an aspect of their fear with them. (PM a fear Flloyd's way if you want him to use his powers on your character otherwise he wont guess) Not limited to just people- could sense an animal's fear as well and by reading people's fears Flloyd can often tell what has happened and what is happening.
Cons (weaknesses) of ability(ies): because Flloyd embodies fears so often he generally gives people the willies. Though he's generally a kind person there is a dark aura to him that makes people feel nervous around them. Seeing people's fears causes Flloyd to have intense nightmares and he doesn't get much sleep. It makes him jittery and nervous. Also, he can't turn it off so he often sees bad things that have happened to people in their past without wanting too. He carries around other people's fears. It may not work as well on mutants with incredibly strong psychic powers- or it could have the opposite effect and work very strong.
Fighting style (if any): Flloyd avoids confrontation and wont use his powers unless he absolutely has too. He tends to stay behind and help with strategy planning or any aspect he can use technology for. He has great agility from living on the ice flows and can fight basic hand to hand if needed.
History of your character: Flloyd grew up in the same tribe as Navi and Raina. He was born into an arranged marriage with Raina though it was voided when Raina was expelled from the tribe- though he was always protective of her he still feels protective. He grew up being good friends and a friendly rival with Naveed. Unknown to Naveed he knows of Naveeds ability and after both siblings left the tribe and Flloyd discovered his own powers he decided to leave too. He is like Raina and believes that mutants and humans can live together but he doesn't say anything to Naveed because he knows Naveed wants to take over the tribe. He still has feelings for Raina and though the arrangement is over he doesn't care in that he still feels like he must take care of her.
Sample RP:
Flloyd took a seat at the bar… The man beside him was unkept and alone, he seemed like he could use a friend or at least a story to pass the time. After exchanging small talk, the man asked where Flloyd came from.
The story was fresh in Flloyd's mind;
"The strangest thing happened to me about a month ago back in Alaska in the woods behind my former house. I was out for a walk when I realized that someone was watching me. You have probably had that experience before. The bartender down at the local bar had mentioned he heard something coming from the woods the previous day and told me all about some trouble a few strangers in town were causing. I was a little worried about what was going on even though no trouble had started, but I sensed something would happen. Then, all of a sudden as a man crossed my path, I saw in my mind and realized the awful truth and right then I had to sit down. Images came to me that I dare not repeat, disturbing and I felt worried and I knew that soon I would have to make a decision. I had to find out for myself what was going on in town and what made everyone so cautious
Thinking of what I'd just seen I remembered what my psychiatrist had told me about a situation like this, I was just having flashbacks from childhood trauma. But not this time, it was very important that I not lose sight of what was important. Very calmly, I resolved to do the right thing and realized I was no longer afraid of seeing these images in my mind, I knew they were real, they just had not been seen by anyone else. Before I knew it, I was on the phone with the police and I knew I had to do something more. I went out into the woods and there they were, the strangers. They had made camp and were cleaning the animals they had illegally trapped, large stacks of fur surrounded the camp and a few trucks were gearing up to leave in the morning.
A lone bear cub was chained to a tree and crying softly scared and alone.
While the poachers were distracted packing after ending their week long hunt, I calmly walked up to the bear and he stopped making noise. I unwrapped the chain from the tree and we walked back to the house without making a sound.
As I neared the house, the faint glow of flashing red and blue stuck against the tree line. The poachers must have also noticed as a shot rang out, breaking a window next to me. The little bear knew what was coming and he took off toward the horizon without looking back, he had the right idea and I made a run for my bike.
The bear and I made our separate ways as I revved the engine and took off down the road, now realising that the poachers knew where the call must have come from to ruin their evening. I took a ride up the nearby mountain to the lookout point to catch what was left of the chaos.
I knew instantly where the stream of smoke was coming from as I gazed down on the valley below.
I took out their operation, they took out my house. I had no insurance and everything owned was now burning to the ground.
There was no point going back. What's done is done. It's time to move on."
Flloyd took the last gulp from his glass, thanked the stranger for an ear and went back outside.
