Ever since them, he became detached, and mostly kept to himself. He got good grades in school, but his father still beat him. His father was very abusive to his whole family; his mother, his older sister, and Giles. When Giles was 14, one of the neighborhood kids spotted Giles using his force field, and snapped a picture. Though the rest of the town thought the picture was a fake, Giles' family knew different. The next week, his father beat Giles bloody, and made him leave, leaving a scar on his back. Giles wandered the country for a year, then one day came across a ship that needed a deckhand, It was headed for America. Giles boarded the ship, and learned the job quickly. When he reached America, he left the ship, and stumbled across Xavier's School, where he now resides.
Sample RP: Giles stepped down from the ship, and gazed at his new home. He was in America, far away from his family, his past. He slowly moved across the dock, and set out for his new life.
He walked for hours before he finally found a place to rest in Central Park, in New York City. "Do you mind if I take a seat here?" he asked the young man who was sitting on the bench, reading a book. The young man just shook his head, so Giles sat down. "I'm Giles." The boy looked at him. Giles put his hand out, and the young man took it.
"James." He then went back to his book.
"Do you know where I might be able to find a place to sleep?"
"You're sittin' on my bed," James said, gazing at the newcomer. "You can always find another bench. Be careful though. The pigs come strollin' through here. They'll lock you up if they catch you."
"Oh. Thanks" Where did you learn about this site?: I can't remember...
