The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

History of your character: Ian Beckford was born to a normal southern family in Athens, Ga. He was raised well but by bigots who saw mutants as freaks and enemies. Though he did not share these views he went along with it until his own mutations appeared. Shocking his family and freinds he was shunned and even beaten by those he had felt most comfortable with. Feeling alone and unimportant he began to wander the country seeing nothing else to really do with his life. That was until he got news of a school for people like him so now he heads there to see if he could find a place amongst them.
Sample RP: Ian read the newspaper with interest. Scanning it for any sign of mutant activity. He had just recently heard from a kind old trucker that there was a school for people like him. He just wanted some confirmation just something to concrete his beliefs. He had found some rather far fetched stories about some people called the X-men that he didn't know about and like usual he couldn't find anything in the useless paper.
"Dang it! Why can't I find out anything about this dang place!"
He slammed the paper down and looked out the diner window. He had just walked into the diner to grab something to eat with some of the money that man gave him. Why had that man helped him he didn't seem like a mutant. He must have been a kind soul just wanting to help someone mutant or not. What was taking that food so long he was hungry. Laying his head down on the table he began to drift back into his past. The family that had once accepted him, the friends that had betrayed him, the home that no longer accepted him, and the heartbreak of it all. He almost began to cry right there but refrained because of the others in the diner. Pulling himself together he looked up to see the waitress walking his way. She walked over and laid a plate down in front of him.
"You get the patty melt honey?"
"Yes mam I did."
She looked down at him in a kind of odd way making Ian shiver slightly.
"You know its kind of hot in here you wanna take that big coat off? We got a hanger over there by the door."
Ian quickly looked up at here quickly. He couldn't take off his coat it was enough already to hide it under the coat as it was.
"Is it hot? I didn't notice. No mam I think I'll keep my coat. Thank you though."
The waitress shook her head and walked off leaving a relieved Ian behind here. He sighed and looked down at his food. It was getting harder and harder to hide the wings protruding from his back. He couldn't go on doing it for much longer. He should probably getting out of here soon anyway better start eating. He looked down at his food and instantly he began to feel the immense wait of his hunger. Diving into his food like a rocket he began to wolf down everything on the plate. He got a few stares from assorted places in the diner but he didn't care he hadn't eaten in a while and was starving. Finishing his food he wiped off his mouth and walked up to the counter.
"How much do I owe you?"
The cashier looked down at his ticket and the back up at him.
"That would be $5.50 please."
Ian handed over the money and turned to walk out the door. He opened the door with a clink and was instantly hit by a rush of cold air. It was a strong wind favorable for travel. His kind of travel anyway. He turned to walk down the street looking for a deserted alley way. Finding one that suited him he removed his heavy coat and stretched his wings. It felt good to have them out in the open and he was dying to take off to the skies. Getting a running start he flexed his wings and took off soaring through the sky like a plane headed for the rumored location of the school he so desperately sought.
