The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Aoi had grown to like cappuccino, well that was an under statement really. She tended to have several per day, the energy output of them and red bull served their need to keep her up and keep her awake. For most sleep was a restful thing, but for Aoi, she had to always worry about going Bear. Sure the mansion had upgraded her rooms durability often enough. She could get it from the mansion of course but often wanted to get away from the chaos that came with a Mansion full of Mutants.
The Japanese owner and theme also brought a sense of home for Aoi that relaxed her even though she knew the staff only by frequency since it was just a few blocks away. She mixed green tea and other healthier options in as well but the States had given her more then one less then ideal habit her parents would not of liked.
She made her order and while she waited decided to use the Ladies room. When she Opened the door all seemed normal. One step in However and she knew she was in no Ladies room. She looked around rapidly in fear. She could feel the power pulse under her skin but she fought the power back as she turned around taking in the familiar architecture. She did not recognize the town but as she relaxed she realized all the writing was in Japanese.
"Am i dreaming?" she asked taking another step forward even as more then one person glanced at her for the comment. Part of her thought of trying to find a train home, but she had no Yen on her and her pass expired when she was two years older then she was currently. She glanced around for danger again, but found only midday shoppers in whatever port town she was in. Again her power begged to come out but she kept it suppressed not wanting to hurt what might well be innocent people for all she knew.

When one had to deal with extenuating circumstances they quickly shifted. The best part of the cafe in Himaris humble opinion was that it worked. Everytime. Unlike the one currently in her apartment that took a prayer to the ancestors, communing with the spirits, and a ritual to the devil. That was before the explosion of violence, pleading, and meticulous jiggling a bomb disposal expert would have been proud of. A situation the threatened to last several weeks before anyone would come fix barring divine intervention.
That wasn't to say there weren't other things she enjoyed at the cafe. It swept her up in the welcome nostalgia of all the best parts of home without the acidic aftertaste of actually being home. They also made a real proper tea fitting for a Japanese descendants and not the diabetes inducing over sugared mess most other places called tea. So when she bounced into the place and gave the owner a cheery wave and her signature dazzling smile all was good.
Until she stepped over. The threshols into the bathroom and bounced into someone's back rather solidly. Instinctively her hand snapped out to keep the person from getting knocked over as her other fist snapped up in a ready fighting positions. Her eyes quickly snapping to clear her field of vision for threats as she had been taught before relaxing and releasing the, after a more in depth look, girl she had gripped onto. "Sorry! Ended up somewhere I wasn't expecting." Stating in cheery and perfectly crisp Japanese. Taking in the details of her surroundi gs with and soft hmm sound before shrugging and looking more closely at the person she had run into. After a moment longer then it should have taken she lit up like a light with thought and smile. "Hey! Your that teacher's pet Koi-no Aoi right?!" A laugh bursting from her lips as she turned around. "Well isn't this interesting?"

Her question went unanswered as a girl ran into her back. She felt herself about to fall but a strong grip grabbed her shoulder and by instict and fear she spun herself around. Her natural silver hair went a few shades whiter and her arm hair thickened into long almost clear shafts before Aoi pushed it back again, her hair returning to it's natural silver and her arm hair once again becoming almost invisible and fine.
It made her feel safer Himari was here, even as annoying as she found Himari. Not because of anything the girl had done but more do to her academic efforts. Himari's words annoyed aoi a bit though they were something she had been called often enough before. "I am, and your the Dream Queen Himari" she said trying to be clever back in fluent Japanese, but as she broke her eyes from the other girl, she realized people were staring at them as they passed with unpleasant looks. It took Aoi a moment to realize it was likly their hair and clothing. Himari's bright pink hair demanded attention and her own shiny silver hair well more muted color wise still was clearly not normal and hair dyed funny colors was often perceived as the mark of a delinquent even if they were not.
"Are... Are we home?" she asked Stepping back slightly so Himari was an inch or two ahead, not out of worry about Himari but she was no fan of the attention they were getting and felt Himari was better suited to any danger they night find, safer anyway. She looked around realizing it was mid day where most kids would of been at school as well. She read on the side of a passing train on an over pass. "Shibuya....you ever been here?" she asked having read about it and having visited a few times but it was not a place she had lived or knew super well.

At the sudden growth of hair Himari raised a brief eyebrow at the fellow student. Wondering briefly if she would get the divine pleasure of punching the goody two shoes in the face. Not at the moment it appeared and Himari wasn't about to say anything about uncontrollable hair growths in the middle of a city like Japan, or anywhere for that matter. She wasn't that rude.
The bookworm fired off a reply and she laughed in delight. "So you can speak without raising your hand first! That's wonderful. More Princess though less Queen." Grinning ear to ear at the revelation that Aoi could speak for herself was like finding money on the ground. Totally unexpected, but not overlooked. Quite the opposite of the effect her almost neon hair was having back amidst Japan's more conservative populace. Inwardly laughing at the fact everyone assumed she was a delinquent, however mostly correct that assumption was, and not an avid cosplayer of some obscure pink persona. She was aware of the looks and slightly widened space most people were giving the too, but completely ignoring it. Used to being the center of attention despite weather she wanted it or not she focused on more important things.
"Looks like it." It was good to be a fox amongst mice again. "Yeah a couple of times. We used to visit Tokyo on vacations and big shopping trips and the like." Clapping her hands together she started move. "Let's find a bathroom then a ramen shop! I haven't had a good bowl of noodles since I left. " A crime against humanity in her opinion if anyone ever bothered to ask her. "Er, well a bank before the ramen shop actually I guess!" At least with their 'delinquent' status most people would leave them alone. Except of course other delinquents looking to protect their turf. She wasn't certain how Aooi would react to a fight and she wasn't particularly keen to find out.

Himari's reaction to her temper reminded her much of her sister. A thought that brought a bit of nervousness but she would get thrue it she told herself. She really had to worry about finding a way home. She hoped Himari would be better suited to that task then her. Aoi's family had moved to America to better support her.
"You would like my sister, she acts like you" she said shaking her head softly. Well either get along or kill each other one of the two. ""Let's focus on us being trapped on the other side of the earth" she went on softly as much to calm herself down as an attempt to bring direction. The last thing they needed was her power deciding to go ona rampage and hurt people.
"You have a card for a bank here?" she asked a bit shocked. She had some American money with her but nothing in japanese currency. Maybe she could exchange what she had at the bank. She noticed that peopled gave them space despite them really not doing anything. It was a strange feeling for Aoi. "It has been a long time since i had good home cooked food, Let's do it" she said considering the noodles. The Americans tried but nothing quite hit it off like the home country.
"Any idea how to get back without anyone questioning how we found ourselves in japan? she asked Himari trying to think of a way to explain it off. Wierd things did often seem to happen in the usa

"Oh? In what way are we alike?" The smile on her face telling that she would find almost any response interesting. She didn't interact much with the other students of the mansion out of no real need to be social. Her communication skills were up to the task, but the desire was not there. "You think being home is trapped? Ah unless Japan isn't your home. Technically America is more of a second home. To be trapped among your own people what a shame." Voice oozing with sarcasm. Aoi seemed to be just a tad on the neurotic side and it was beginning to bug her more than a little.
She went on to sigh like she had to explain something rudimentary to a child. "Do not need a car if I use this." Tapping the side of her head in an exaggerated gesture. "I know a few of the family's banking numbers and codes. People who cling to technology tend to have poor memories I have noticed." A bit anachronistic of her to say, but most of her interests lie in more visceral pursuits and not glued to a phone or tv.
Finally something they could agree on. She gave a wordless assent to getting some food, nothing so undignified as a grunt but close. "PLenty of ways to leave a country without being tracked. Private or chartered flights or boats most easily come to mind. Stealing a plane would be the fastest way of getting home, but something tells me you would be opposed to that idea."

"You both like to see the reactions you can cause in others. She also enjoyed skipping school and prodding me. " she said with a soft sigh. Himari was the worst kind of correct, technical. She had not realized she had begun mentally thinking of America as home.
"I...Look, i have not been back here since i got my powers. My sister decided to pick on me as she often did and when i got angry, i turned into a nine foot tall arctic death machine and she did to. The damage was extensive, we nearly hurt half my class. nether of us had any control, then i woke up in the ER as doctors figured out how best reassemble my back. I had my parents send me to the mansion then to try and avoid my sister who thought a giant bear fight as school was hilarious." she said her own annoyance evident in her voice though she was trying to keep her calm.
"yes stealing a plane is out. You do realize most country's have radar and tend to force you to land or failing that shoot you out of the sky. And suppose we did manage to actually take the plane, which are fascinating by the way. i mean the Americans might get itchy trigger fingers and force us to land or barring that shoot us down. Then theirs a the small nearly irelivent fact that we would have to cross the width of the US just to get back. I mean..." she said shaking her head.
Risking death and breaking around seven thousand laws or missing at least a week of school. It was an actual consideration. "I mean......if we could file a flight plan and the average passenger jet...at and avoiding" she said tuning out what was around her as she started to consider the plan. " If we could fool air traffic control we might be able to land and fuel in Honolulu other wise we would have to ditch the plane and swim" she said realizing much to late what she had just said aloud. She had been saying it to discourage her classmate but she realized....no was she was serious.
The thought process had calmed her nerves a bit but she still radiated nervoud energy. Maybe food would do her good. "it IS also true that American seafood can not compare to here" she said trying to consider the positive things.

Himari shrugged at the accusatory remark. "It is good to know how people react to see if they are worth getting to know. At times I just get bored of how people get stuck in their little bubble and never think beyond it." Levelling her own look at Aoi as if to say something, then left it alone.
"I do not pick to bully, it is my way of probing people. A giant bear fight would be awesome though! Your right, I need to meet your sister. How far away do you live? Should we visit?" Himari starting to become of the mind they should visit regardless if Aoi wanted to or not. Maybe she could fight her sister. That would be even better than watching two bears duke it out! The awkwardness of finding herself in Japan quickly vanishing to be replaced by excitement of coming events.
"See perfectly reasonable plan! Your the one who wants to get back so bad and do it right away. I can settle for a week trip or two by boat to get back to the USA then hitchhike across the country. Be quite the adventure to tell wouldn't it?" If she really worked at it perhaps she could end up riding a bear across the continent. Now that would be an even better story! Her mind already trying to calculate the best ways of making this happen.
"Seeing as how you want to get back so bad your in charge of that aspect. Let's go find the bank then get some food. Always easier to think with a full stomach." With that statement she began walking towards the bank without an ounce of hesitation in her body. She had been hungry before the.. well teleport was the only thing she could think of and that hadn't changed despite their location.

Himari's answer made Aoi consider it. The first part at least reminded her of what she herself did. Then she mentioned the part about sometimes doing it while she was just board. Himari's implication however from her look had the subtleness of a hammer.
"NO! I mean their in America now. My dad moved when his job offered so they could be closer to me. So i mean we could visit my old house but it's not really close and no one would be home" she said happy for this fact. It was like Himari had ignored all the danger she just told her about. Or thinking back to her words just wanting to see them fight. "The lazy girl's prolbely hibernating again, so your bear fight will have to wait. Could you stop me in my Bear form?" she said not quite hiding her jealously. Her question however was an attempt to seek out assurance that she could be stopped from hurting anyway. She Followed Himari hoping to keep them both out of trouble.
"And you what? Wanna travel the world, hit up a few nice hotels, Solve some crimes, lock up a super villain, find magic and establish gopher rights before wondering back to the mansion? Thinking about it though. This is not even the oddest thing thats happoned to me" she said curious on what Himari would really rather do trapped out here. She had to make the best of this after all and maybe she could keep Himari focused by playing to some of her wants.
"Food would be good, i never did get my ramen from that shop and it really should be so much better here" some excitement coming into her voice. She had to relax and not let the the fear build up in her. Stay calm, after all if they were to be in trouble would it matter if it were weeks or days? She chose not to voice. "Maybe then i can relax a bit and we can figure this all out" she tried to reason almost more to herself. Bury the fear, bury the bear.

Himari thought the resounding no was a bit of an overreaction. America must really be rubbing off on Aoi, thought Himari before shrugging. "Then the fight can be postponed due to poor geography." Giggling a bit at her own joke. "Dunno! Never had to fight a bear without killing it before, might be fun!" Humming a little tune as they walked down the busy street.
Casting a curious eyebrow at Aoi before laughing softly. "It would be fun to do, but I was thinking more like eat some food, find a nice job and find someone nice to spend the days with. After I figure out a way to get word to my sister. Can't live my life without her around. Only probably have enough money for a few days of food and that is without including a place to sleep in all that." She stated in surprisingly pragmatic fashion. Clearly not too concerned with their predicament.
"A good meal can reveal the wisdom of the moment. Or so my grandfather would say." If it got the other girl to relax some it would be worth whatever she had to pay for it. Stopping at an ATM out of the way she fished in her backpack for a card that looked brand new and did what she had to do to get some currency and looked about. "Let's see if we can't find a little Ramen stand somewhere those are the best!"

Post poned was good, she had fought her sister a few times and it had never ended well. Still she did miss her sister and spending some time with her. Fought a bear without killing it? Himari had that kinda power? If Himari could stop her in Bear mode even if she did have to kill Aoi, well Aoi knew she could accept that if it was needed. "You have fought Bears and won?" She tried and largely failed to keep the hope out of her voice.
"Family is very important. That sounds like a very nice plan. Maybe were not as different as i thought, I'm mostly looking for those same things" she said considering what the girl had said. They really were aiming for simmeler things. Their rout getting there however was vastly different.
Aoi struck an innocent pose. "So Himari, How many girls DO you take out to dinner?" she said trying to joke. The idea Himari could stop a Bear was loosening her up a bit. Aoi had never been a jokester, no that was her sister but she could try. She still kept in eye out around them for danger, just in case.
"I'm sure whatever plan we end up with, Wisdom won't be a part of it" she said shaking her head but less tight then she had been before. She was still sure of her words however and just hoped this would be an easy trip back home.

How did one explain that as a girl she had the least girly childhood one could imagine while still desperately clinging and wanting to be feminine... all the while secretly loving the thrill and challenge of more muscle and agility based past times? In this case survival training with her grandfather. "Most anything dies if you cut their head off." She finally stated in a neutral tone.
"I believe most people are, deep down anyway. Some people just lose their way and end up hating everything around them." Shrugging and smiling at her.. well not friend yet, companion.
Of course then Aoi had to go and drop a bomb and Himari's eyebrows raise sky high and she blinked twice, clearly missing the fact it was a joke and interpreting it as nervous energy or something. A faint blush graced her face and she rubbed the back of her head some. "You'd be the first. Though this isn't a date it is a survival outing. Not that your not attractive in your own way. Not sure we'd really be compatible, not that we know each other much." Was that a easy let down? Was a let down needed? People were difficult. Hanging out by yourself was way easier!
"There is an old military saying that goes, if it is stupid, but it works it is not stupid after all." Hastily gripping onto the diversion away from the romantic awkwardness. Was that a four person ramen stand right there? She angled that way and picked up her pace a bit.

She took a comfort in the idea Himari could stop and even kill her if the need arose. She assumed it would have horrified most other people but they did not have a thousand pound monster deep within. It was a very true statement deliverd in a way that felt a bit old to her, but she enjoyed that as well.
She blushed a bit when Himari called her attractive. "No,no i was only kidding but um thank you!" she said nervously. She agreed they were likely incompatible. Their personalities were at way different ends. Aoi had also never truely considered love, knowing the bear might eat anyone if she ever tried. Aoi was not even sure she liked girls yet, but she did notice them.
"Assuming you dont wind up in another issue but yea, that makes sense. " she said stopping as Himari changed direction. Aoi eagerly followed, both out of hunger and excitement in having actual food from home. American Japanese foos was rarely as good and sometimes not even actual food from japan. She knew food enabled the change, as the bear needed energy to come out, but with Himari near she was confident things would o all right in this. She sat at one of the stools making sure one was open next to herfor himari.
