Character's real name: Theresa "Terry" Mattlock
Codename/Alias: Arachna
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Nationality/Ethnicity: Israeli-American
Birthplace: NYC
Personality: Terry is a talkative. She likes to be around people, especially her friends, and can talk, as long as there's anything to talk about. She also likes to make friends, and she is very loyal to her friends, as far as going to her limits to help them out. However, she does not respond well when she is hurt mentally; if she is betrayed by a friend, she will not get over it quickly, and may spend a lot of days sulking and crying (if it gets to that). She will forgive easily, but if hurt the second time, or the friend does not give any explanation for their actions, then she will brand them an enemy, and will treat them as such. She might forgive such a person, but it will take a long time.
Notes (Hobbies, Phobias, Worries, ect.): Terry likes to hang out with friends. When she is alone, she is found reading (she is actually a bookworm). She is scared of pitch black darkness and she always worries about her weight, even though she is slim. She also takes good care of her hair, and does not like restraining it, often letting it go free. A good way to annoy her would be to mess up her hair.
Allegiance (Good, Bad, or Neutral): Good...
Everyday clothing: Terry often dresses in short sleeved T-shirts (half-shirts occasionally), and always denim pants. Rarely is Terry ever seen in skirts.
Uniform (Optional. Required if eventually becoming part of the X-Men): Her outfit consists of a black, short-sleeved spandex suit (which covers her entire body except her face) with fingerless gloves. She often wears a leather jacket on her outfit. A pair of goggles are hoisted above her eyes, to protect her eyes when she is in motion. Her hair is tied back into a pony-tail by a black band, and this is the only time she ever ties her hair. The X-men insignia can be seen on the left shoulder of her jacket, and at the base of her neck.
Pajamas: She wears a light-blue three-quarter sleeved cotton top, with light-blue cotton pants that stop at her calves.
Hair color and style: Terry's hair is strawberry-blonde, and she always lets it fall free to the middle of her back. Some locks fall over her forehead, and may occasionally obstruct her eyes, which causes her to often pull them back, or toss her head. She ties her hair into a pony-tail, when she is donning her suit.
Eye color: Baby-blue
Height: Five feet and seven inches
Build: Terry has a slender build, complimented with graceful feminine curves.
Scars: None
Tattoos: None
Piercings: None, except in her ears (earrings...)
Description of ability(ies): Terry's powers are actually psychic in nature; it's the only way they can be explained. The first ability creates a force that occurs between herself and any object, increasing the forces of attraction and repulsion between herself and the object, regardless of the cloth material present on that part of her body. The forces of attraction enable her to cling to objects, no matter her position on them, and enables her to climb any solid object. The forces of repulsion are not strong enough to telekinetically thrust a larger size object away, but it explains her enhanced jumping. Her second ability becomes more physical; her bonds take the form of fragile pink webs that flow around her arms. When she concentrates on these webs, they become thick, strong and difficult to break. The web have the ability to psychically attract themselves, and stick to an object, thus possessing a 'stickiness' comparable to that of a spider's web. She can control the webs' trajectory with her mind. Her psychic nature gives her a third ability. She can remotely sense 'danger' in her environment, and she usually can deduce the direction from which it comes.
Cons (weaknesses) of ability(ies): First of all, Terry has a hard time controlling her powers. She must constantly focus, or she will find herself slipping off walls objects, missing her targets with her web attacks or not jumping satisfactorily enough. Secondly, she finds it very difficult to use two abilities together. When webbing, she must use extra focus to maintain her position on an object. Finally, her 'danger informant' is not reliable at all. It switches on and off at any time. At times, the attack would have hit terry, before she feels a 'tingling'. Other times, the 'tingling' may occur about a minute before the attack comes. Funnily, this third, uncontrollable ability only seems to work well when she needs it most (life and death situations).
Fighting style (if any): Terry has a brown belt level in Taekwondo, but she never attained black belt status, as she was fond of mixing Taekwondo moves with street fighting styles. So, she uses a Taekwondo/street fighting style. She is also very adept at gymnastics and athletic stunts.
History of your character: Terry was born as the second child, out of the three children born to the Mattlock family. The Mattlock family was rather comfortable, the father being a respected lawyer, and the mother running a successful boutique. Other than their wealth status, the family was just the normal, average family living in New York City. Terry's mutant abilities began to show, when she was six. She found out that the curtains were sticking to her, when she passed by them. At first, her parents thought it to be a freaky occurrence. But, as she grew, these things continued to happen, and always to Theresa. Terry found that she could climb walls, if she tried hard enough. While she loved the feeling, her parents were getting alarmed. They noticed that she was able to use these abilities when angry, frustrated, or engulfed in a strong emotion. Thinking that her powers resulted as a result of anger problems, they enrolled Terry into a Taekwondo class, to "help her anger problems". For a while, it seemed to work, as Terry spent most of her time and emotions in martial art class. But the powers kept coming back occasionally, and others apart from the family began to notice it. Terry soon found enemies in some street kids, who were "anti-mutant", and as a result, she spent much more of her time "sparring" her techniques with them. This began to put her family in a negative light. After a very heated argument between her parents and herself, Terry decided that it was the last straw. Without planning for the world ahead, she packed some of her things and ran away. After wandering the streets and fighting often, she got word of a sanctuary for mutants, a place for gifted children. So, Terry began to search for that place. If what people said was true, then she would find sanctum from the hostile world, and maybe be able to control her "gift".
Sample RP: The wind blew fiercely, causing the girl to squint slightly. Her hair was pushed back against her face, and she had to tuck some strands behind her left ear, so as to see properly. Walking to the edge of the rooftop, she looked down at the city below. It was a beautiful sight, from such a high altitude. Terry could see so many things, and the wind up there was really refreshing. For a while, she closed her eyes and sighed contentedly, allowing the air currents to caress her body. Then she opened her eyes, and pulled the goggles over her eyes. Taking a step forward, off the edge of substance, Terry found herself plummeting towards the ground beneath. She reached out with her right hand, picturing a thread forming around her arm. Sure enough, there was a pink thread, almost immaterial, wafting in the air. It took form and strength as her arm wrapped around it, and one end aimed for the nearest wall. As the web-end hit the wall, it attached itself firmly, and Terry smiled, and pulled at it. She performed a swing, narrowly missing a lightpole, and let go of the web, performing a backflip, before reaching out to grip the adjacent wall. Unfortunately, she had miscalculated speed, and found herself, moving too fast for comfort. The wall loomed closer, and... "Ouch!"
