The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

”She was a kid, just like I was.” Sam agreed but still defended her while chewing on a slice. His eye looked around for a place to sit. He didn’t move though till he finished the slice and grabbed another.
She grabbed a bobby pin and stabbed the jacket. He chewed watching her work trying to troubleshoot his new favorite jacket hoping she could make it bullet proof again. While it lasted it was pretty cool to have and he knew cool. ”Lesse?” parroted back not sure what that meant.
The icemancer swallowed when she questioned him, the follow up shrug hurt. ”Crap?” was the first question he decided to answer. ”This jacket is awesome!” biting into the pizza to everything else, ”Yes.”
”Only got shot twice in the danger room.” he said knowing he should have tested it out more times before using it in the field and probably not with it on. ”Might have got shot a few times today.” he shrugged again and winced into another slice. ”I might have a active lifestyle.” he smirked.
Her mind focused on the one comment that mattered to her. He’d gotten shot once or twice. A as Nd then a few more times, after thought. Amelia blinked.
Active lifestyle? “Yeah. Just a bit.” She said.
So, yes. If it wore down based on damage taken, it was entirely probable it has worn off early. Either due to him not being entirely truthful about how much he’d been shot (hello, mob hit?), or else... this was an egotistical thought, but—
“Is it me?” She thought out loud. She took a big bite of pizza, and chewed it over while she searched her drawers. After ten seconds, she hauled out a notebook. There were a couple of them.
She opened one and looked at Sam. “So. How long ago did you say i enchanted this for you? One day? Two?” Maybe he would need to be her guinea pig. If there were limits beyond what she knew about herself, she would need to learn.
Her slice of pizza was in one hand, and her notebook was pressed open on the desk. Her eyes scanned for something of relevance.
“I wrote a lot of stuff about... asbestos. Please don’t tell me I based something off a known carcinogen... Teflon, too. Hm. Weird.”
Here was hoping Sam hadn’t run around in an asbestos jacket.

”Could be.” he said not helping her at all. Sam didn’t know why she asked it but he smirked with his mouth full. ”Lesse than a week.” he said chewing and swallowing the slice careful not to shrug this time.
When she mentioned the material of the jacket he almost chocked on his next bite. The coughing caused his shoulder to move and in turn the wound. After he choked for a second he started to laugh after the food managed to dislodge from his throat. The laughing made things even worse.”I hope not.” ”I didn’t ask, I just thought it was a super cool jacket a friend made bullet proof for me.”
He thought for a second, ”You know, now that I say that I probably should have asked a bit more about it.” he fought back a chuckle. ”Teflon, like the tape and Asbestos….” he wondered, ”How did I not get shot sooner?” he asked. ”Hopefully none of it went airborne. Last things my lungs need.”
Less than a week. But no specifics. Not helpful. They would have to test it to really get the timing down if she were planning to loan out more of these. There had to be limits and weaknesses. All great powers have them.
Amelia looked towards the man as he went into a bout of coughing. Which turned into laughing. Hm?
Was something funny about asbestos? Other than the fact old comic book characters used it as the solution for literally every fire based hero. Asbestos panties, asbestos rope, asbestos blanket. Asbestos. A fine part of any American breakfast.
He answered and she nodded. “I really doubt she’d do that...” Amelia trailed off.
She gnawed on pizza while she read. Her mind only half heard what he had said. She was Thinking. Even if she based it off the thing... She didnt think she broke reality to literally make something into something else. Just... properties... but this... these properties she was going for.. her eyes scanned the page.
She stopped when she got to good stuff.
“Yeah. No.” She said absently. “She didn’t base it off asbestos. She got distracted by polytetrafluoroethylene. That’s... smart.” She looked up at him. “PTFE. The stuff TEFLON is made of. For waterproofing and electrical resistance and heat... though I already have that. Mines just Kevlar and ceramic plating for defense. Does similar resistances... so. No cancer.” She finished lamely. “If she even managed it. Did she improve my formula, or did she just figure out how to make more stuff...”
If her hoodie was around. Amelia got up and starting rooting around in her closet.

The icemancer nodded, he did ask for something with a higher resistance to anything electrical it wasn’t a well known weakness of his but it was hard to keep ice clones moving while getting shocked. Over the years he just developed a healthy respect for anything electrical and tried to avoid it whenever possible. At that point he’d rely on his other abilities instead of his ice.
”She could have?” he asked into his piece of pie. It sounded now more like Ami was just talking to herself but he was still there and while he knew little or nothing to the subject it wasn’t normal for him not to say anything, especially after he was shot. ”Unless we go to California.” Sam said with a smirk. ”Everything gives you cancer there.”
”Maybe she just had some inspiration to try something new?” he asked mouthful of pizza. ”I don’t want to brag or nothing but I am inspiring.” he said rolling his eye trying to make a joke. ”Maybe she didn’t know you could do that and decided to try and figure out how to?” he chewed. ”Kinda like what you’re doing now.”
She let him finish, then chimed in with a “Heh. Maybe.”
She took a bite, then added “inspiration to try something new huh? think I had that happen to me at least once before.” She smirked. And thought of Mirror. Maya mirror, specifically. The last time a person had inspired her to try something new.
Thinking of what he’d said, Amelia pondered just how far back the deAging had taken her. Far back enough to be before the whole growth, but still enough to understand the principles? She honestly did not know.
What she did know was that there was a name scribbled in the corner of one page. Adelyn? For what THAT meant, she really didn’t want to know.
Amelia idly tore that part of the page off and crumpled it into a ball, which she tried to throw into a waste paper backet near Sam. She missed and bopped him in the forehead with the paper ball, instead.
“Bin that,” she commented mildly.
She set what she was holding down on the desk top and went over to her closet. There, she found the green Carhart hoodie. She turned and held it up between her hands.
“Maybe I should ask you to stab this to see if it still repels stabs. Gently. I like this thing.”
As for his... “I’ll have to experiment on yours to make sure I can make it work and last longer. Maybe it’s some weird thing like it needing to recharge in my presence. Something I’ve never noticed because I always recharge it weekly.”
The hoodie would still be stab proof, if he tried. Other Amelia had figured that part out at least. Old Amelia knew this, not.

People had been trying to kill him for years. Snipers who thought they had the shot, Assassins who thought they knew where to stab and women who tried to seduce and thinking his guard was down. All of that just paled in comparison to the wad of paper that hit his forhead. His blind eye was focused on Ami while his good eye was focused on the slice of pizza. If only they thought to attack him while eating.
His head jerked backwards in response as he saw the paper balled up on the ground and he chuckled, ”Yes ma’am.” Sam held the pizza in his mouth and with the hand that held it a second ago he scooped and deposited the garbage in the bi.
Her next request was odd. ”How do you stab something gently?” asking with a mouth full of pizza before removing the pizza but taking a bite. He chewed the food and shrugged swallowing the food and then walking over putting the pizza back into his mouth. Ice formed in his hand and a blade tapped onto her hoodie ‘gently’ he tried pushing it in a little. Nothing happened.
”Gently.” he said talking with his mouth full before shrugging again and stepping back. The ice blade rest on the hoodie she was worried about. ”Guess you got to get used to seeing me.” he grinned.
Amelia felt a wry smile tug at the corners of her mouth as she replied to him.
“You don’t always have to stab something hard,” she said, voice slipping into a singsong cadence. “In fact, sometimes that’s not right to do.”
Amelia left the rest of the tenacious D lyrics left unsaid. Sam did not need to hear about saying please. Or giving a squeeze. Or saying hey, I’m gonna... heh. She left that train of thought at the station. Why had she even gone in that direction? She hadn’t even heard that song in ages. Maybe it had been something to do with the name? Or, no. Probably just phrasing. His, and hers. Because that’s ^*^*ing teamwork.
Okay. She was done with the Tenacious D. Side note: she needed to track down Serena at some point.
Anyways. He was stabbing her hoodie, gently. It didn’t get punctured. Cool.
So she would have to experiment on his jacket.
“Guess I’ll have to get used to that. If you want to have a cool jacket.” She agreed.
It would be good to learn limits. That wasn’t really something that would happen overnight. She would have to keep the jacket, to experiment on it. Test all her clothes. And also, see if she couldn’t enchant any more articles of clothing. A full wardrobe of bulletproof clothes? Yes, please!
“Yeah. I’ll have to keep this while I enchant it again.” She held up the jacket and wiggled it at him. “Hope that’s okay. If I can make more stuff maybe I’ll even make myself an entire outfit out of this junk. Anyways— I’ll have to figure that out later.”
She set the jacket down and picked up some pizza. Sat on the bed.
“Thanks for coming here, and, what? Clueing me in to how I’d grown the hell up?” She shrugged one shoulder and bit into the slice.
Her mental gears changed. “So. Obviously I’ve got blank spots about the mansion. Anything major I miss? Did they ever catch the witch who did this? And how is Serena?”
((OOC I don’t know if this is before or after they caught the lady who deaged everyone. What’s it look like on CS’s timeline for that? As for Serena.., who knows what that Brit is up to?))

The singing didn’t’ sound familiar to him. One he never heard Ami sing before and two he was a man out of time so the movie reference either was too old for him to know or at someone point he had forgotten it. Maybe he needed to have movie nights again with Shin. There was one two many references from shows and movies he didn’t understand. Everyone knew if you were trying to do damage you stab someone hard.
”Got to be the coolest…” his forearms started to coat in ice for the pun, ”Ice powers…” he smirked biting into his crust and finishing the slice he had been working on.
Sam nodded as she explained she’d need to keep the jacket for now and his smirk faded. He had gotten used tot the jacket he had broken it in and once or twice even fell asleep in it. It was comfortable. ”Just take care of it. A friend gave it to me.” he smirked again.
”No problem. What friends do right?” he asked grabbing another slice now enriching on the halfway point for the pizza. Being shot made him hungry. ”You were nice enough to help me out when I was trying to figure things out. Even if you don’t remember.” he paused and thought. ”Yeah we had to raid a mall with S.U.P.E.R. but it got done and things are going back to normal…. Or at least as normal as possible.” he shrugged. His distrust for S.U.P.E.R. could be heard in his voice when he said the name.
”Serena?” he stopped and thought for a second. How was she? He hadn’t checked on her in a while, since he before the de-age. Apparently she and his younger self had run into each other. Which meant that he’d need to apologize. ”I’m sure she’s alright. Young me was difficult to get along with I’m sure.” he raised his eyebrow, ”Why ya ask?” he grinned.
It was news to her that she had helped him when he had been trying to figure things out. But that was good. “Glad I could help,” Amelia said.
When he told her about what they’d had to do to handle the deAging thing, Amelia felt a pang of regret. SUPER had been involved, and she, had not.
“Wow.” She said. “Wish I could have been there to help.”
She heard the weird tone he got when he mentioned SUPER, but did not push.
As for Serena... why had she asked? “Um. No reason. She was there when I got deaged I think, and I think it messed her up. Especially since it happened after we had a big long drawn out dramatic conversation. But that’s neither here nor there...”

Sam shrugged, ”It got handled. I don’t like ‘em but they get the job done.” they reminded the icemancer too much of when he was with T.A.T.M.A.H. he didn’t like how they rounded up the dangerous mutants and tagged them like they were something that could be used later. For all he knew they had a kid like Sam in a cell somewhere scared and confused. The more he thought about it the more he wanted a drink.
He didn’t do that anymore.
”Oh… well… looks like you get to have a fun conversation with her then. I’ll be sure to wait till that blows over before I talk to her. Young me made a pass at her I think and well, figured it be best to avoid her for a bit.” he said with another shrug. ”Gonna be awkward. Only one of us knows what happened and everything younger me said probably wasn’t the whole truth. She beat him in a danger room session.” he smirked proud Serena could beat him.
”She’s tough,” Sam said, ”What you gonna do about it?” he asked knowing it wasn’t any of his business other than wanting his friends to be happy.
>> Oh… well… looks like you get to have a fun conversation with her then. I’ll be sure to wait till that blows over before I talk to her. Young me made a pass at her I think and well, figured it be best to avoid her for a bit.”
He kept talking, and— Amelia laughed. About all of it. What he’d said, the hitting on Serena part. Oh you sweet summer child. And him getting beaten in a fight.
She could probably beat him. If she were clever about it. She didn’t say that, though.
What was she going to do about it? Amelia laughed again.
“I... will let you know. Probably after I do. Talk to her probably. Once I set some things right.”
Hm.
“Well! Thank you for coming here. Can I hold onto the jacket for a few days? I want to run a few experiments.” And once he had left she could start working on setting some things right. Because she had loads to do.

Sam looked to the jacket and nodded his head, ”Take care of it. My good friend made it for me and I’m attached to it now.” he said with a smirk as he started to walk to the door.
”Oh one more thing,” he paused as he was in the door way. ”Don't wait too long on talking to her. She and I have a lot in common and I know I wouldn’t be waiting around forever.” he gave her a thumbs up. ”Good luck! Also you’re up for Pizza next time.” he adjusted his shoulder where the wound was and then shut the door behind him guessing now would be a good time to go to a healer.
