The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The griffin was playing goalie and blocking her from the heels. Rude. It was also making a lot of noises. It made sense that it couldn’t talk with a beak… but could it at least stop trying? While the heels may be lost, the griffin’s… whatever it was doing… was distracting the bouncer boi. Rhia sped up her stealthy escape.
The feeling that she had made it, that she got out without anything happening grew the further Rhia made it from the bathroom. She was finally starting to think it was all good when she heard bouncer boi ask if she had any ID.
Rhia turned to see bouncer boi with his arm raised like he was about to throw whatever that orb was at her. She froze, smiled, and then waved. ”Uh… Howdy. Uh… See I think I lost it in the commotion. There was a griffin on the loose and all.” It was a believable lie, poorly delivered. ”I’ll just leave and make sure to have a real one the next time I come. Sound good?” Rhia looked from the boy’s face to his orb, and back again. Rhia held out both hands in thumbs ups and slid one foot back to take a step.
His eyebrows lowered and he stopped purring debating if it was just the guy that he just freaky Friday’ed with made his former shifted form more beast than normal. He remembered the first shift fondly it was both thrilling and terrifying at the same time. Something that continued on throughout his life.
Carrick watched the exchange between the two. His mismatched colored eyes darted between the two. The light, the former body he inhabited to the blondie and her feet. His tail twitched and he looked down to the shoes, yup he had something to do. Carrick looked at them for a second and debated picking them up with his beak, he’d do it but it seemed everyone was more than happy keeping their distance, which was fine with him. However he was on a time-table not before he shifted but before there would be more angry people in a place he couldn’t leave.
His talon reached down gingerly and plucked one of the shoes making sure not to do anymore damage than what he was about to. Still sitting he turned his body slightly and throw one of the shoes towards the pair. Given that it was the first time he ever tried to throw anything he had no idea where it would go. A quite screech exited his beak as he called out a warning.
Zek just knew she was lying through her teeth. “How curious,” Zek said thoughtfully. “I don’t recall any commotion outside. Other than you pulling a Freaky Friday on me and this fine, upstanding monster man, here. And you didn’t have a real ID even then.” He stopped and stared at her for a moment.
“You know, I’m betting that was an unlawful use of a mind-altering power. Easily a violation of privacy. Possibly identity theft. Probably assault. Oh, and trespassing,” Zek continued, rattling off a list as he stuck up fingers. He maintained a carefully constructed stern expression. Honestly, he couldn’t do anything. Well, the trespassing thing could stick, since he’d forbidden her entry in front of several witnesses, but all the other things would require actual proof. And he doubted Birdman’s testimony was going to cut it.
“So I think you should actually stick around for a little longer,” Zek said, “until the cops--”
A THUK and a sudden impact to the back of his head interrupted him. His ball vanished.
Zek snapped his neck all the way around in a sudden twist. He saw the gryphon. He saw a shoe lying on the floor by his own feet. Zek barked in response to the shriek, “‘Oi! Cut that out! I said I wasn’t putting it on you!”
Zek twisted his head back. “It’s time for you to leave. You’ve caused enough trouble tonight,” Zek said stepping closer to the girl, forming a new orb in his hand. Just in case.
Rhia told herself to play it cool. Bouncer boi was just trying to scare her. He couldn’t prove she had pulled a Freaky Friday on them. Probably. He was listing off crimes she committed.
”No… I... It wasn’t me.” Rhia protested weakly.
When bouncer boi said “cops.” Rhia was about ready to just bolt. It was, stay there and get interrogated by the police or run off and be just another blonde in New York City. She thought she would have better luck that way. The plan made her feel sick, she wasn’t a run from the police type, but it was better than spending forever in jail and losing her scholarship over just trying to go dancing and drinking.
There was no need to bolt. No sooner had bounder boi said “cops” did a heel strike him in the back of the head. THe glowing ball in bouncer boi’s hand disappeared. Rhia knew it was her chance, but… That was her shoe! She was so surprised she almost didn’t notice how the guy’s neck snapped all the way around!
Rhia looked from bouncer boi to the griffin. He was throwing her shoes! Rhia took a half step toward the guy, her arm reaching forward toward her shoe and then stopped. Bouncer boi was looking at her again. An orb appeared in his hand again and he told her to leave.
”I’ll leave. I’ll leave… But, um… can I have my shoes?” Rhia asked.
When blondie said she wanted her shoes and after he got yelled at by the bouncer whom he just switched bodies with Carrick let out a few chirps that sounded like laughter. The shifter picked up the other shoe and then tried to throw it awkwardly again towards the pair hoping it’s path was true.
The shoe landed a few feet away and Carrick went back to all fours and then looked to his wings and started to preen a few feathers quickly before looking around again. ‘I got to get out of here,’ thought Carrick who knew his shifted form supported escaping as soon as possible.
Carrick’s wings shot outwards and he flapped them once then they folded inwards to his side and he walked towards the two then past them still keeping his distance incase they wanted to decide he wasn’t friendly. Turning his head to his side he looked at the two as he past them and tilted his head towards the exit. ‘let me outta here!’
Zek wanted to do nothing more than to just smack the troublemaker with an orb. He wasn’t sure if he wanted it to be inert or active though. Both were good options. But he was tired of it all. Besides, the dance floor had basically completely cleared out and now Zek could see some staff coming in. Well, he didn’t really want them to get caught up in all this foolishness because honestly, he wasn’t entirely sure he’d be believed.
He just wanted it over.
“Fine, get your shoes and then leave,” Zek said, repressing a sigh but clearly displaying his annoyance. Especially because Birdbrain decided to try throwing the other shoe. This one didn’t hit Zek though, so he didn’t need to call him out for that. But he felt like the catbird needed to go as well.
This decision was only partially influenced by the birdcat already heading off towards the doors and looking back, every bit like a dog asking to go outside to potty. “Alright,” Zek said, stepping towards the girl. “Let’s follow the birdie.” He began marching towards her in order to drive her to the doors and out of the club. And to stay behind her just in case, the glowing orb ready in his hand.
