The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

There were a few things she could do here, but she was torn on what to choose. The Greek felt like she should try and approach this... situation.. from a rational place and calm things down. Right? Even though things had taken a turn and she was being reminded of things she didn't want to think about. She had a job to do and even with Kimberly as animated as she currently was, it wasn't like she hadn't faced other tense moments like this before.
Heck, some of the people coming back from being inexplicably 16 for a month or two were honestly just as volatile.
Or, if she wanted to give in to her base instincts for once in a long while, she'd grab up the letter opener in the drawer again and force her way out, taking Danny with her and leaving a potential problem alone.
... and then either pretend it hadn't happened or call in an anonymous tip to the cops and hope they picked her up without too much bloodshed.
...
Oh, who was she kidding? She couldn't possibly risk lives like that or leave someone who very clearly needed all sorts of professional help to fend for themselves.
Taking a shallow breath, she started to calm herself back down. She'd gotten riled up with all of the girl's emotion, and thus the snakes on her head had started to get stressed as well. All six of the large serpents were focused on the girl and her pink display of lights.
"It's OK. That sounds like a lot to process, especially after the trauma you just went through." She lifted her hands in a placating manner. No weapons there, just little gloved fingers. The girl started to rile herself back up and Andrea tensed again, looking to Danny for possible help- only he wasn't there.
Some other man was?
She jumped, surprised gaze sliding between the two of them as Kimberly started to stand.
Well, this had gone to hell in a handbasket, hadn't it?
At least newly appeared Zagan's introduction seemed like a good ice breaker.
"Good to meet you, Zagan." She tossed in, always needing to be as polite as possible even in the weirdest situations, "Kimberly, dear, you need to sit down. You may be healed but standing suddenly like that after losing blood as you did could make you dizzy and you could fall."
She placed her hands on the desk before her for just a moment to ground herself, before standing to her full height (which wasn't very tall at all) and walking around the desk toward the girl.
"I will not let you die, because I swore an oath and that is not the kind of person I am." One gloved hand reached out to offer to stabilize her if needed, and then guide her back into a sitting position if she could.
"I understand. I really do. From what you have said it certainly sounds like you have been to hell and back... but those people? They wouldn't care in the least if you were to die, would they?" She went to sit, keeping up a soft smile and a friendly vibe.
"...But if you live, truly live, why... I think that would show them what for. Get under their skin, yes?"
She didn't know how this was going to go, especially with Danny gone and someone seemingly different in his place. She wasn't trained in therapy at all, though she did know someone who was...
"Have you ever lived for yourself Kimberly? Maybe after... 15 years you should focus inwardly on yourself? Do you have anyone to talk to? I know a lovely person who helps people puzzle themselves out all the time."
Aura barely registered The change In danny until the voice. Well tuned instinct screamed in her mind to point s blade at the unknown person, but she took her cure from the green lady and her calmness, Auras instinct to follow winning out. She took Andreas offer of assistance even as she answered Zagon "Just the pink, sadly but i did once meet another me from that world the rift lead to she was blue" she offered. She had long considered the idea since but had never quite found the time to try.
She shook her head softly. " Their dead, my green friend, their lives erased in mortar and automatic fire, because i could not kill a wounded squadmate. Then i found new york and by the time i realized humans and mutants were not locked in holy war i had killed far far to many. While i thought i was doing good, the blood on my hands mattered less, becuse i was making the world better for our kind. Now we have SUPER. Only recently have i thought to live for myself and my daughter, hope she don't end up like me. You may be right, maybe i do need to talk. Everyone i cared about is dead, likely dead or have faded away with no trace." she admitted. when fighting she was able to hide in the euphoria of combat but now she had to much time to thick.
"Please explain yourself Zagon, Like who you are, what happened to the other guy? " she asked looking to Zagon, trying to analyze him a she did with everyone she met. It always paid to be prepared and just becuse Aura was ready to die did not mean she planned not to fight. She knew this person had to be a mutant, as no human could have knocked out and replaced the one who saved her. She considered the change might be like mirrors but that was speculation and a dangerous assumption. She glanced at the snaked haired mutant again to follow her cue, use to following the leads of others.
Aura still remembered her nightly hunts, devastating gangs and erasing anti mutant groups from existence. Now she felt like a tired failure unqualified to raise a kid. fate was a very strange mistress. Part of her considered ot almost funny single bullet had nearly killed her when small armys had failed. Another part of her wanted to apologize for kidnapping Andrea but she was not sure this was the time or place and she was unsure if Andrea truey knew the monster she had saved. If she did would she still think Aura should live? would she have regretted her choice to save her? perhaps it was best not to know.
Green girl took it in stride. What were those, snakes? Was she Medusa? Interesting. But he wasn’t turning to stone, so... that was a relief.
He nodded at her ‘nice to meet you.’ Glanced at Kim. Spent a moment, just watching everyone.
Kim said a whole lot of rift nonsense and he nodded as if in understanding. Pretending he understood.
Medusa woman tried to soothe Kim, and ease her back into a chair. Seemed like she was trying for the therapeutic angle, and hoping to set the other girl up with a therapist who could help.
Kim spoke of death, death, and more death. Holy wars? Wat? She asked about him, and talking about himself was something he was far more capable of. Even good at.
He pressed a hand to his chest. During the transformation, he had changed from the clothes Danny had work into a dark pinstriped suit with slacks. He’d gained glasses and a tie.
“Me? I’m a businessman. Once upon a time, I got too close to a kid whose mutant powers were kicking on for the very first time. I got sucked in like water down a drain. Sometimes I get let out. Between those times, I live inside his head. We swapped places, sweetheart. It’s just a duality thing.”
His smile slipped as he looked at her. “Sorry for your loss. I’ve lost people too. Pretty much everyone I grew up with has outaged me or died. That’s the price of living inside someone else’s mind, time-locked. If you can believe it. Did dodge some nasty wars though...”
