Character
Personality: Pippa gets business done. She is passionate about things - mostly social justice and equality - and she is willing to go to great lengths to change them for the better. She is no-nonsense when at work, whatever the work is, and she has a knack for dealing with people, especially when they are being difficult. She hates being underestimated (which happens a lot, because she is short, pretty, and a woman). Off work, she is more easy-going. Special talents: A long list of work experience from various volunteering projects
Morality
Good/ bad/ neutral/ other: Chaotic Good. Sometimes to do good in the world you gotta break some serious rules.
Mutations
Mutation description: Psychometry. Pippa can see an object's past through touch. When she touches an object, she sees a series of vivid images randomly from the object's past since its creation. With enough focus and concentration, she can sift through these fleeting images, get a sense of a timeline, and zero in on scenes she wants to see. She cannot, however, block any of them out as long as she is in contact with the object. Strengths: Seeing an object's past is basically information transfer: once Pippa's seen an image, it remains in her brain as a memory. This means if she's already seen all of an object's past, she already remembers it, and touching it again will not activate her powers. Memories are shown from the object's point of view, but since objects don't have eyes, it's a 360 degree vision. There is no time limit on how far into the past she can see, but there is also no guarantee that she'll understand the things she sees. Weaknesses and Limitations: Only works on inanimate objects, not people, animals, or plants. Only works through the touch of her palms. Any other skin contact is normal. (This is why she wears gloves). Zeroing in on certain scenes takes a lot of concentration and energy. It is exhausting to sort through information and make sense of it. Some scenes can be pretty brutal or traumatic, so Pippa is very careful about touching objects with questionable pasts. Once seen, the images stick with her, which can cause flashbacks or anxiety. Pippa can't turn her powers off. If she touches something with her palms, she will start seeing images, whether she likes it or not. This is why she wears gloves all the time. New gloves only. Pippa doesn't see images of scenes where she was personally present.
Physical Abilities
General Physical Capabilities: Pippa is not very combat-oriented. She works out regularly, but only for health reasons (jogging, yoga, etc.). Fighting Style: Run. At worst, she'll punch people, kick, bite, and scratch, but only if she can't run away for some reason. Fighting Style Pros/Cons: She's tiny. She's a strong independent woman, but she prefers not to get into physical danger.
History Of Your Character Pippa was born on the other side of the space-time rip, in the place currently known as AV New York. She was the only child of moderately wealthy New York parents; her father was a marketing creative, and her mother was a lawyer. She got fairly liberal education. Her powers manifested when she was fourteen. There were no other mutants in her family, but her mother was one of the very few pro-mutant lawyers in the city, who accepted her daughter without any fuss. Pippa managed to keep her powers a secret through high school. In college, she made like-minded friends, and joined a secret mutant club, picking up speed as an activist for social justice. In the meantime, her parents fell on hard times as her mother kept losing jobs for her passion for taking on mutant cases. While doing her BA in Social Studies, Pippa cycled through a series of jobs and volunteering projects. She's done everything a college student can possibly do: she walked dogs, worked in a book shop, built shelters, did urban farming, protested, worked retail, worked as a waitress, worked at a community center, protested some more, worked at a zoo, volunteered at various museums, and sometimes, when she was stripped for money, she used her powers to help a certain antique store authenticate its items. After her BA, she took a break from school to backpack across Europe, volunteer some more, then returned to New York, and decided to start standing up for mutant rights. She joined an NGO called X-quality, a radical pro-mutant organization that actively protested anti-mutant policies. This was the first place where she used her powers for something other than museum items, trying to gather evidence against organizations and companies that actively discriminated against mutants. The more she worked with them through protests, espionage, and covert operations, the more she realized that there was another approach to all this. She went back to school to start learning about Public Relations, but still remained a member of X-quality. By the time she graduated in her late twenties, X-quality was very much on SUPER's radar. Things got more risky, people disappeared. In order to keep up a professional appearance, Pippa took a job with a company that was not exactly pro-mutant, but wanted to keep up appearances. As their new PR expert, Pippa was basically a double agent: helping them show a mutant-friendly profile when gathering information about their practices, passing them on to X-quality. Sadly, because of the nature of her powers, none of what she gathered was admissible in a court of law, but every once in a while, she dug up something useful. Pippa spent the next several years moving around between PR jobs like this, until SUPER decided to crack down on X-quality for good, and her name threw up a flag. Pippa had to run from SUPER. And then the rip opened in the middle of New York. Pippa did not look a gift universe in the mouth. Making her way over to the other New York, at first she just hoped to disappear from SUPER. But SUPER followed. She, like many others, looked up her other self, curious where she was... and was in for a disappointment. Other Pippa (named Peggy, of all things) was not an activist. She was some straight up Evil Twin funhouse mirror thing, an actual PR expert for actual evil corporations. Walking all over mutants to make money. And she wasn't even a mutant! Pippa was so upset by all this that she cobbled together a plan... to switch places with herself. She managed to lure Peggy to the other side of the rip by a false promise of a job interview, and set her up to be found by SUPER. By the time SUPER figured out they had a useless alternate, and not the activist they had been looking for, the rip unexpectedly closed. Stuck on this side, Pippa took on Peggy's identity, quit her corporate job, and started looking for new, more creative ways to make a difference. SUPER may have rebranded, but she did not trust them. So, eventually, she made her way to Haven, where she was hired as a PR expert. For the good guys, this time. At least until Svetlana, the interim leader of Haven, gave her a new job...

"Nice gloves." "Thank you". Svetlana Sergeyeva was a formidable woman. She took on Haven's leadership after Devon Hadden disappeared (wasn't that just a PR nightmare, geez) and other members got hit with the de-aging bug. Suddenly, there was a lot more work to go around, and Haven did not only have to get thing done, but it was also imperative that they look good doing it. Svetlana, Pippa could work with. She was not exactly the friendly type, but she carried an event well, if she put her mind to it, and did not forget to smile. "Is there something we need to talk about? I hear there were some reporters at the hot tub..." "Don't remind me" Svetlana sighed, rubbing the bridge of her nose "No, that's not why I called you here. I have another job for you." "Oh." Pippa blinked, adjusting her glasses. Never a dull moment at Haven. "Do tell." "Alright. I'm... loaning you out to another organization. They are really in need of a PR expert like you. And it would... help us a lot if we had a contact like you there." Pippa tilted her head. Well, wasn't this familiar territory... Svetlana knew her story. She was the only one at Haven who did. With that knowledge, there was probably a good reason she wanted Pippa for this job. Still, the boss lady looked more sheepish than usual. "Where am I going?" Svetlana took a deep breath. "SUPER." Pippa blinked. "WHAT?!" "You can't deny you have a serious PR problem! And they are trying to change. Really. I have it from good sources." "You are sending me to give SUPER a face lift? What am I, Doctor Frankenstein?" "You are a lot of things, Ms. Swan. Some of those things are useful. Just... see if you can help them. And if they are rotten to the core, just... get as much information out as you can." Pippa was quiet for a long time, considering her options. She could flat out say no. She could quit. She could work for an NGO again. Thing were different on this side; she could coast by, not needing to run for her life. She could get away. But not everyone could. "You do know I was wanted by SUPER, right?" "I know. But I promise, this time... it's different." "I know." Pippa smirked, adjusting her glasses "This time, they need me."
