The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

She was still just a bit too out of it to really do much on her own. Willingly, for once, she allowed her dad to haul her butt out of there.
She wasn't sure what short stuff in there was going to do, but her dad apparently trusted her enough to do her own thing.
Once her feet hit the pavement outside a safe distance away she shrugged her dad's jacket on the rest of the way and tried to stretch some of the pain out of her sore body. Jesus... suddenly growing like that really @#$%ing hurt a lot. She was used to pain of varying sorts, but @#$%! She'd only barely managed not to full-on cry from it.
The building came down swiftly and she tried to block the dust from her eyes with a sleeve. IT didn't appear that the blonde girl had come out after them...
"...Whelp, she's dead. Can we go home now?" She really needed to change clothes.
Just as Juniper and her clones suddenly appeared, that idea flew right out the door. The idiot had stayed behind to try and save the dupes!
Elke started laughing, loudly and doubled over to clutch her stomach. "Oh god! That's too much!"
The clones were trying and failing at clinging to the girl. Hug attempts were made as well, and also failed. The blonde looked equal parts pissed and confused.
"They're only clones, bro. Temporary. Calm your tits."
Juniper's whole face wrinkled as she frowned and squinted at Elke.
"@#$%ing terminally ill people are temporary too, but that doesn't make them any less valid!"

They landed safely, and only moments later the whole building collapsed behind them. As he set his daughter down, he turned to address Juniper... But she wasn't there. "Wh-" His daughter chimed in with a smart ass remark, and he twapped her, and took a step toward the building.
He didn't get it... She was incredibly powerful. She should have been out right behind them! He have her the 'you got this' nod and everything! He let out a sigh of relief when she climbed out of the wreckage... with... three clones. His eyebrow raised.
"You, uh... You saved the clones?" He tilted his head. Oh... riiiiight. Right. She had no idea. He had seen so many clones melt in his life at this point that it was second nature just to sort of let their fates be their fates.
"Eh... That was... nice of you?" Oh, that came out like a question. Oh, she looked mad. "Juniper... I don't think the clones are what you think they are..." He paused, and then looked over to ELke. "Uh... Do you remember how long ago to made those?"
Was he... patronizing her?? What the @#$% did me mean it was kind of her not to let 3 kids die in a building collapse?!
Screw it, regardless of what she had thought before, she decided right then that Xavier had definitely been right about this guy. "You... you're siding with her? After what she just said!?"
She was so angry she couldn't concentrate enough to keep herself phased out of the grips of the three clones, and they all latched on. She struggled with one arm to get it free so she could at least point at him aggressively. Screw if people were watching! Screw if people could hear!
"Are you serious? You're really gonna try and argue that they are different somehow and thus less important than everyone else? What the @#$&! And even if they are, they still feel pain, right? Does that mean they deserve to be left to DIE UNDER PILES OF CEMENT?!"
She didn't notice that the clones had gone really still all of the sudden, and wasn't really paying attention to the question he had asked the girl about when she had made them. What the hell did that matter, anyway?
"I defended you at one point, because @#$&, everybody's different. But this is really god damn hard to wrap my head around. Also, what the HELL is wrong with you to just @#$%ing abandon me in there?! Do you seriously think I am at all responsible enough to make decisions like that on my own!? I'm 19 FOR CHRISTS SAKE."
All of her yellings had sure attracted a whole lot of attention. More than a few people had phones out to record the whole thing, and there were sirens growing closer in the distance.
She was all prepared to keep on yelling too when she happened to glance down at one of the kids clinging to her and saw her skin starting to turn a bit pink. Actually, really pink. Juniper flinched, lost control of her power for a moment, and a car about a foot behind her suddenly tipped as one of its front tires sank into the ground.
The whole process of a clone melting into a puddle of pink goo was horrifying enough that Juniper shut down almost instantly. Words were left hanging on her lips, not unlike the good that was hanging off of her clothes, as she stared blankly at the puddles at her feet.
...People... had just melted on her. She was standing in them. What kind of horrific nightmare had she woken up in this morning?
Her eyes kinda glazed over and without a word she pulled her sweater off by phasing it from her body, dropping it on the pile, and then turning right around and walking off.
The Native winced and rubbed at her head where he had whacked her. "Hey! Don't punish me for saying it like it is!"
Oh, but look at that, she'd survived. Elke had wondered about why she hadn't felt the horrible pain from all three clones dying at once. Short stacks came strutting out without a scratch on her, looking grumpy and with three clones in tow. It was a useful power, whatever it was, but she still chalked it up to cheating. She'd just found the no-clip for real life, apparently.
Her dad seemed relieved, but equally as confused. Especially after the girl tried to lay into her about what she had said.
"Listen here, B-" Her dad stepped in, to explain she guessed, and Elke's jaw slammed back shut like a steel trap. She'd kinda liked the girl right at first for having the balls to try and punch her, regardless of her intentions, but that was quickly wearing off. Especially after she responded to her dad by trying to lay into him about the clones as well.
To Elke, it sounded a hell of a lot like she wanted to throw fists, even if she wasn't making any move to do so again.
Her dad asked her about the clones and their time limit. She did some quick mental math and a vicious grin curled her lips.
"Oh, about 24 hours ago, actually." They'd all get to see how quickly she changed her tune after the three dupes melted all over her.
Saphirus felt it coming from a mile away. @#$%. It was another one of those moments in his life where his publicist would freak the @#$% out at him if he'd ever bothered to hire him. She was yelling at him. People were taping. He frowned and stood his ground.
"You can handle yourself. I know maybe three mutants as powerful as you. I didn't know you'd go for the clones. Sorry. They're about to-" Oh, too late. He'd been about to hold back Elke from going ham on the poor confused kid. The new pink muck mess was quickly discarded after his eyes were drawn to the car sinking a bit. He stepped back a bit in response.
Yeah... That was a bit too much for her. Understandable. He couldn't tend to her feelings, though. He had a job to do. "Elke. Stay near me. I know you don't like it but we'll have to take you in to get this all sorted out. Hang out."
He stepped forward, waving away the people who had gathered. "Alright, alright, nothin to see here. Move along." It was time to put on his cop hat. Backup would be here soon, and he would absolutely get an earful for this later. Better get started minimizing the damages while he could.
