The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Her frustrations about things being different now mirrored his own the other day he was apparently a teenager, getting into trouble and stealing a jet once or twice. Now he was comforting his friend Eve who was now a kid and dealing with the ramifications of having garbage parents. Sometimes he was glad he didn’t remember his parents too much all the memoires of his mother were short but good and he didn’t even remember his father. He was told however from his brother that they were good and decent people.
Of everything that Sam could have guessed now and young he wouldn’t have expected her response. Sam just started to laugh without meaning to before he finally asked, ”What would the picture be?” Sam asked raising an eyebrow figuring the art room or the living room might be a good place to check for some games or drawing supplies.
”Not dumb, not at all and sorry for laughing but I wasn’t expecting that answer.” his smile softened, ”You don’t have to hang out with anyone if you don’t want to. We can do what ever you want.” he thought about it for a second more, ”I don’t think I ever drew a picture just to draw something...” Sam said almost laughing at himself.
”Get used to it. When your better at stuff people will try to beat you and if they can’t it’s never there fault.” he shrugged. It probably wasn’t the thing she needed to hear but he didn’t like the fact that Eve was being excluded. ”I’m awesome at board games.” Sam said only having played a few with missing pieces. Most of the time by himself.

Evelyn blinked in surprise when Sam laughed. While she could read his body language and know it was genuine, she hadn't thought the offer was that weird. She thought he would have felt it was normal to ask to color since she was a kid. Was she that bad at being a kid? She blinked, trying to read deeper into it, and failing. "I...didn't think that far. I usually just draw like bank blueprints and architecture and whatever the echoes feel like. It's....Hard sometimes, to draw. The echoes want things to be perfect, and nothing is ever perfect." It was difficult having a computer like brain calling all the shots.
"It's supposed to be fun. When....When you were you, but younger, you said having fun was important. I'm not very good at it. I mostly just went to school. And lessons. Well, then I made explosives but Mirror doesn't like that. She said I can only blow things up with adult supervision."
Evelyn led him toward the living room, and found where the color books were the other kids used. They were the usual princesses and animals kids seemed to enjoy. She looked at one dubiously and then picked up a crayon. "I don't know how accurate you can be with these though. When we were on missions I used pencils...." She wondered if she should get her color pencils out instead....

”I could see that being a pain in the @@@.” Sam said thinking about it before realizing he just swore in front of Eve. He smirked then corrected himself, ”Butt.”
Sam agreed with Mirror, explosives and lack of adult supervision was a bad thing. However he also had to remind himself that Eve wasn’t just a kid. She was one, however like she said she had echoes powering her thoughts. ”Fun is important.” he smirked, ”That Sam guy, seems smart.” he smirked, ”Practice makes perfect.”
The icemancer sat down and grabbed a blue crayon and looked at it. Had he ever held one before? He had, however he used the crayon in ways it wasn’t meant to be used, not color or draw with it. Sam’s attention turned to Eve, ”You want to tell me what we did on those missions?” Sam asked hoping to distract her some and fill in some blanks.
Evelyn didn't seem bothered by the cussing. Honestly, most the adults at the mansion seemed to cuss when they thought no one was listening. Heck, a lot of the kids seemed to cuss. Elke was an expert at profanity, and Evelyn could have repeated plenty if she wanted to. She currently preferred Shakespearean curses though. They had a much more humorous impact around the other kids, and she liked anything the other kids did not.
Settling her coloring book onto a picture of a cat with a crown, Evelyn started shading fur with the unfortunately fat little brown crayon. The echoes were already unhappy, but she tuned them out and focused on Sam's question instead.
"We flew on the jet, and went to New Zealand. I got to see the ocean, that was cool. And I got to memorize blueprints. Do you think it's breaking a secret if the one asking the secret is the one who was there with me?" Evelyn looked at him, making a face. This was an ethical dilemma the echoes were not prepared for.

She wasn’t supposed to say anything. That was good. At least his younger self covered the basics. Still bringing her on a mission. Even if it was Eve she was a kid now. He knew it must have been a bad situation but he didn’t think he’d ever stoop that low. Then again, his younger self did come in fresh from being on the run. He wouldn’t understand.
”You don’t have to.” Sam said twirling the blue crayon in his fingers not sure what to draw. He decided a snowman with a tiny torso and a massive round head. ”Though, I don’t think it’s that big of a deal if it was me.” he shrugged and gave him a hockey stick using the brown crayon.
”New Zealand and blue prints” he said nodding his head, ”I at least teach you to fly?” he held up his drawing and then looked to it. ”A masterpiece.”

Evelyn kept shading, forcing the crayon to mimic fine lines, and switching between colors to get the shade she wanted. Or close to it. Nothing was really as accurate as she hoped. But she kept coloring. Kept trying to work her way into one of these tasks that children were supposed to be good at. She just couldn't relax. That was the problem, she couldn't let go of all the adult things to be a kid. Deaged, older, it hadn't mattered, she was just too old for her body.
"You taught me flying, but I was told I had to promise not to fly without you or without someone you knew could fly," Evelyn recited without looking up. She did glance over at Sam's 'masterpiece'. She blinked at the hockey stick. "Why does it have a hockey stick?"

”Why not?” Sam asked answering a question with a question. He didn’t know why either, his snowman needed something to keep busy to keep his sanity. Maybe he was projecting on his snowman. ”He’s captain of his hockey team.” he said looking at his drawing with a smirk.
He set his masterpiece down and casually picked up a green crayon and looked at it for a second then started drawing the rough shapes of pine trees in the background. ”That’s a good promise.” he said nodding his head. ”Maybe we can set up another one soon.” he said still surprised not more kids knew how to fly. He learned it pretty young.
”Did you promise him?” he asked glancing to the arm that held small rings of ‘promises’ glad Drew wasn’t around for this conversation.
”I’m guessing it was something that I didn’t want anyone else to know. New Zealand…. You were kept safe right?” he asked hoping his younger self wasn’t as dumb as he knew he was at that age.

Evelyn considered the snowman before making a face, "Maybe he just wants to be captain? Because I don't think he would skate very good with his little snowman body. Or, he could be magic. Magic doesn't seem to work in ways that the echoes seem to understand," Evelyn admitted.
She could see Sam contemplating the trip, and wondered how much to say. It was still Sam, but, the older Sam seemed to be less of a fan of rule breaking, and the like. "I gave my word I wouldn't. I don't promise things, but, I still keep my word. Promises...promises don't feel like they mean a whole lot." Evelyn said it, thinking back to 'promises' she heard when she was younger. To her, it was more important just to mean what she said.
"I don't mean what I say around other teachers, but I do with you, so that's important." She resumed coloring, then made a face at the new question.
"Safe is a relative term. I was in a safe house, in a vehicle, but I was still out of the country. I believe other teachers would consider that 'not safe'."

Looking to his drawing to back to Eve he raised an eyebrow. ”He tries his best, he’s got the experience, the know, the skill. Sure he’s a bit bigger than the rest but…” Sam looked over to a spot on the floor a few feet from them and then it got colder suddenly.
Snow started to form and take shape he imagined what his drawing would look like and in a few seconds the captain of his team was formed. ”Heavy hitter this guy.” he said nodding his head to him. The snowman with arms made of snow gave a large thumbs up.
Sam smirked and went back to his drawing and then looked at the snowman and then tweaked his face a little making the facial features change till it looked a little like Sam. It was harder to make defined shapes of the face out of snow but then again Sam wasn’t trying to make him picture perfect.
”That’s fair…” he said when she said she didn’t keep promises. He had broke many over the years some he didn’t think much about others like the ‘no more killing’ one he made to Ghost years ago still seemed to bother him. ”I like that. They don’t always do they?” he said nodding his head.
”I’m glad I’m the exception then.” he said with a smirk, ”Can I ask why?” he asked curiously.
”They would not like that at all.” Sam agreed. ”I’m sure I got chewed out a bit. At least I hope someone tried to chew me out. Younger me didn’t like being told what to do. I don’t either but I’m at least smarter about it now.” he said with a smile.
”Safe house, vehicle and you… I’m guessing this was important… did you meet anyone?” he asked following up his thoughts.

Evelyn watched the snowman form, somewhat mesmerized by the act. It looked just like the drawing, and she didn't even let the echoes point out the flaws. Nope, this was the snowman from the paper, and she felt a little smile form. "I guess he can play what he wants to play. I won't judge until I see him in action," she commented.
Then she looked at her own art and colored some more. Then Sam asked another question that made her have to think.
"I met your old teacher, and we had some trouble leaving....but I think he was the only one who saw me," she finished. She decided an honest answer was best. She tapped the crayon on the paper and tilted her head a little. "But logically speaking, they had to have known someone was there, because of the driving....and the escape..." Yeah, they were not in a country where things drove themselves. And even the ice clones couldn't have driven entirely by themselves.

The icemancer felt bad for his drawing and now the creation. His arms dropped in response to the threat of judgment from a kid. Sam smirked though. ”You want to play against him?” Sam asked with a laugh.
”Sensei Po?” Sam asked curiously. When she said teachers it brought up a lot of bad memories. Some of them preferred to be called trainers as if Sam and all the other ‘assets’ were more on animals to be trained and groomed before anything else. Po was different though; it was known he was in the same boat as his students. Where others had cruelty he had indifference which was the closest thing to kindness Sam got when he with T.A.T.M.A.H.
If Po were captured there would have been one hell of a guard for him. Sam was actually impressed with his younger self. Even now he’d be hesitant to take on a facility and team that could hold his former Master. ”I’ll have to have a talk with Po to confirm only he saw ya.”
Sam frowned a little when she finished recounting. ”Hmmmmm.” his thoughts shifted to the dangers that lingered if someone had seen Eve or known that his younger self brought a child onto a search and rescue. His past self had no idea what kind of target was on her back now.
”Gonna be real important you listen to me on this one.” he put down his crayons and revealed concern in his face as he looked at the kid. ”If you think no one saw you that’s alright. However, if you start seeing things that aren’t there or hearing voices other than you’re Echos you got to let me know okay?” his lone eye remained fixed on Eve to show how serious he was.
”Those people that you helped rescue Po from, they aren’t gonna be happy with him or me or anyone else involved…. They use trackers and telepaths to find people mess with their heads. Make them do things they normally wouldn’t… Not mad at you mad more at younger me. You just deserve to be safe that’s all.” and his younger self deserved one hell of an @$$ kicking.

Evelyn glanced at the snowman, then slowly shook her head, ”I’m not good at sports. The snowman would win. And...I am not great at...how do the other kids say it? I’m a sore loser.” Evelyn admitted casually. She didn’t seem all that bothered by it. She was sure they were right because the echoes knew they were right. Evelyn did not like losing, and she did not hide it. She would not pretend.
They focused on the conversation. New Zealand, Po. [Fear. Concern. Danger.] Even if Sam wanted to, he couldn’t hide that he had made a mistake. Evelyn knee the trip had been risky, but Sam knew things that His younger self hadn’t. The worry was caused by time and knowledge. The same intelligence that let Evelyn assess situations made her well aware she could be at risk.
Danger. Risk. She nodded once to show she understood but her face was calm. Evelyn has seen a lot in her life but this was not a situation she was afraid of. She was still young and confident in her own abilities. Maybe that was why she got along with Young Sam so well.
Tricks, voices: Evelyn felt she could outsmart those too. The echoes will know. They see tricks, can tell when someone messes with my head. If something happens, I can let you know.” hopefully that was enough for now to help him feel okay.
She went back to coloring. It was in the past now; and she didn’t spend time worrying about the past. The only place she wanted to go, was forward.
