The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"I suppose so." She chuckled, and left it at that.
Taking the cord from him, she fished her phone out and started scrolling through playlists. "So mean! A girl makes a mistake once and you hold it against her forever." She feigned being wounded by his words.
She found a mix of rock oldies and some newer songs, plugged the cord in and settled her phone on the seat of the unoccupied chair. Around that time the lights dimmed and she giggled. "Ooh, mood lighting!"
Watching him fiddle with things was fun in its own right. He seemed like a natural in the pilots chair, which certainly added some credit to his Mysterious Backstory™.
The song 'Rock You Like A Hurricane' started up with a wild electric guitar intro, and Juniper set about peeling her large hoodie off. Being in a cramped space like this, it was going to get warm just with the ramp door shut.
She leaned in to peer at the navigation screen in wonder for a bit.

Sam smirked shifting his attention back to Juniper who was busy scrolling through her phone. He smirked at the choice of music, ”It only takes once for me to learn my lesson.” Sam retorted with a smirk. He nodded his head when the classic rock started to play. He was vocal and that was why he was easy to please. Just play something that didn’t want to make him depressed.
Shifting his attention between his legroom fro any hidden switches or knobs he looked there were none. Sam looked back to Juniper who removed her sweatshirt. ”Warm?” he asked looking back at the navigation screen then to another one of switches. The jet started with a low hum as he turned on the airflow inside the cabin.
”Or…” his body iced up, ”I might have another idea.” he smirked.
"Oh? What's your idea?" She turned she attention back to him and blinked. He'd iced himself all over!
"That's cheating!" She laughed, and turned a little so she could lean against the side of the other chair. It threatened to wobble a little, which was awkward, until she got her balance under control.
"Unless you're offering to be my very own personal AC, then it's acceptable." Of course that might backfire, as she'd put her coat back on if it got too cold.
"So should I like, buckle in or something before you take off in this thing? I don't wanna accidentally phase out the back mid flight."
With that in mind she turned her chair to plop into it, moving her phone as the song shifted to 'Paradise City'.

Sam smirked at the question, as he buckled up. ”I would love to keep you cool.” once the coat came back on he turned off his mutation but not the air flowing into the cabin.
”You might want to tell me right now if you are worried about phasing out of this thing.” Sam said concerned, ”Be a shame t ditch this jet to grab you.” Sam said joking. ”Buckle up.”
Sam flicked the a switch and the runway lights kicked on illuminating a hallway into the darkness before the rock face that was now opening. Sam clicked and pretended to talk into a microphone as he started powering up the jet. The engines started to roar. ”ughhhh….. ladies and gentlemen.” Sam said in his best lazy piolit voice. ”This is your captain speaking…. Sunny skies here to the mile high club… ughhh should be there in ten minutes…”
Sam gestured to put the fake mic down and looked to Juniper and gave her the thumbs up. ”Ready?”
Teeechnically she could accidentally phase through just about anything if she didn't plan things just right. It was how she had discovered she was a mutant at all in the first place. "I was mostly joking. It takes a lot of effort to screw up that badly."
She buckled, and very nearly lost it at his pilot impression. Silly as it was, it greatly helped to down play the fact that they were effectively stealing the jet, if she had been reading the signals right. Then again, he technically had authority still, seeing as he was still the same person... just younger. That was a loop hole, right?
"I've never been more ready!"
Her first time in a plane, in multiple senses, and it was the freakin x-man jet of all places. This was awesome!

It was helpful having Mansion security linked to a cell phone. Rebecca had no control over the security systems, because that would obviously be a security risk in and of itself. Thankfully, she could receive alerts when suspicious activities were detected and alarms were tripped. It was her job as a Mansion Mom to keep things safe, which meant taking alarms seriously, even if the last time she responded to an X-Jet alarm it was to accidentally catch two hormonal teens in the act.
Rebecca prayed that was not what she was walking into here.
When the alert came through that unsanctioned, unplanned entry was detected on the jet, she left her office and stepped through the halls at a brisk pace. She did not want to run, both to avoid causing panic, and because it was still very weird feeling her new monkey tail bobbing and swinging behind her.
Stepping into the jet, her heart sank when she noticed Sam and a young woman, but she regained her composure when she realized they were not in a compromising position.
No, they were just planning on stealing the X-Jet. "Samuel Johnson, whit on earth dae ye think ye're doin?" she asked sternly from the doorway of the jet.
Flying a jet 101 close the ramp before you tell someone you are about to take off. The icemancer was so focused on getting the thing started and memorizing the consul he didn’t even think about closing the ramp. Juniper definitely didn’t help either, he was too distracted about getting into mile range.
So when he heard the voice from behind his powers activated sending out a frost behind him. He stopped it before it got too close to Becca but Juniper would have felt it. ”Whoa!” he said quickly as he scratched the back of his head. Juniper was still here so he had to make it seem like it wasn’t as bad as it was otherwise she might think twice before looking to hang with him.
”Not… flying the jet yet?” he asked as he looked to Juniper and raised his eyebrow. Sam was hoping she was already a few steps a head of him and gone before he could say anything else.
He looked back to controls and turned the controls off. ”Was only taking the jet for a spin with my friend here, nothing wrong right?” he asked leaning over to Juniper whispering loudly, ”Scatter?”
A mystery voice popped up and Juniper damn near jumped out of her skin, and then Sam jumped, and then Juni jumped again at the sudden drop in temperature. "Jesus@#$%!"
It took a beat, but her brain caught up with where she had heard that voice and accent before, and her stomach all but dropped through the floor like she had phased it out of her own body.
Oh @#$%.
Sam looked to her and she looked back, her own eyebrows vanishing into her hairline for a moment. "...Um..." How could this look like anything other than trying to fly the jet!? She shrugged less than helpfully at him, having no smart ideas for how to get them out of this situation.
And, because life really just loved screwing her over whenever possible, the one person she tried to actively avoid in this school happened to be the one who caught them. Frickin Valkyrie herself. Juniper was about to start sweating like she still has that horrible CS mask on.
...heh, actually, this was kinda funny now that she thought about it.
Sam distracted her with a rather loud suggestion, and honestly, she didn't need to be asked twice. Scatter sounded like a mighty fine idea. Though, maybe she should have thought on that just a bit more.
"Scatter!" She reached out and snagged the back of his sleeve, and then they both slid right through the floor as she phased the both of them entirely. Her shoes and feet re-solidified a moment before she hit the ground, same with Sam, and she attempted to take off back toward the exit with him, assuming he was intending on the same kind of exit as she was.

Rebecca did not want to get a reputation as the strict mansion mom. She did have a knack for walking into situations where students deserved a talking to, but she tried to treat them as teaching moments. She did not want kids to think she was around to get them in trouble.
Sam trying to abscond with the jet and a young woman was pushing the limits of that commitment. When she misused the jet for her own hormonal teen means, she was using it originally for X-Men purposes. That was how this was not hypocrisy.
He lied about his plans, but in the kind of way where he was either obviously telling her what his plan was or he was just a terrible liar. She was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Just before she could question her sort-of-apprentice’s decision making, she could have sworn he said… scatter?
She stepped forward, but noticed something slipping into the floor. There was still a Sam in the pilot chair, but… yep. Ice. An ice copy. Did he just get pulled through the floor?
Wait…
Oh, Sam and Little Miss Shadowcat were going to have quite the talking to if she could get her hands on them. Still, for now, she sighed and accepted that they had made a successful getaway. She might have chased him if not for her pregnancy and her quiet appreciation that Sam was doing typical teenage things. Good for him.

The icemancer left a final parting gift in the cockpit where he would be sitting if he was flying an ‘awesomeface’ ice clone with a big thumbs up to whoever inspected it. When he dropped to the floor he landed and started laughing while running next to Juniper the ice on the camera vanished with a wave of his hand. Sam reached out for Juniper as they got to the exit. ”Go.”
They phased through the door and he made a b-line for the stairs Sam slowed when he got there. ”I don’t know how fast she is supposed to run.” Sam said tapping his gut and gesturing at a kid. Sam caught his breath a few seconds after that. ”So, she might be one of the reasons I didn’t want to use my code to get in.” Sam said laughing.
”Way better than sleeping.” he said looking back to Juniper, ”Thanks for suggesting we do that. Totally telling them it was your idea.” Sam joked. ”Victory beer? I don’t think she knows about the man cave.” Sam offered.
Sprinting was thankfully something she was good at, even if she was a little out of practice. It had come in handy many times in her life, and especially now, while they were fleeing as fast as possible from a teacher and someone she'd rather not get a stern talking to from.
Sam's laughter was infectious though, and by the time she they were stopped at the stairs she was bent over trying to catch her breath and control her giggling. "I don't blame you, she's kind of terrifying isn't she?"
Or maybe it was just what she knew that was terrifying, to Juniper at least.
She slapped on a mock offended look and gasped dramatically while heading up the stairs. "Moi? No one would ever believe you. I am the epitome of innocence." She gestured to the air above her head. "Don't you see my halo?" Yes, she was Juniper. Patron Saint of Sybarites.
"Ooh, yes. Victory beer sounds lovely after running for our lives like that."
