The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Sam smirked assuming Ami was eye rolling at him. His attention was focused on the woman at the moment. color=48D1CC]”Done.”[/color] he agreed to the Empanadas and Cola. He wasn’t a pop drinker but he’d deal with it. She was cute and the dainty bite was even cuter.
”Right?” Sam replied looking back to Ami who was starting to bite into it. He was hoping it would make her a little less aggressive but of course he didn’t verbalize it. She had a long night, she was shot and hung over. Once Sam was satisfied that there was no lasting damage and if he couldn’t convince Ami to go see Doc he’d at least leave her with a pair of ice blocks. One for her head and one for her shoulder.
Sam turned back to Lenna”ice to meet you Lenna. Beautiful name by the way. I’m Sam.” he put the burrito on top of the lid of his drink and offered her a hand to shake. If she didn’t take it he’d go back to the burrito.
”You gonna let me take a look at that shoulder champ?” Sam asked Ami while he was smiling at Lenna.
New girl Lenna had offered him sandwiches and coke, instead of dinner and drinks. Somehow, she had made offering to cook for the man seem slightly diabolical. Good for her. Then, she’d bit his burrito.
Someone needed to explain innuendos to this girl before she got herself hurt from all the face palming.
She let Sam get his date, and focused on coffee and burrito. Bite, sip, bite. It probably saved her life. She missed the ice to meet you pun. Whoosh. That would have been a killing blow, with her headache.
Sam brought it back to her dang shoulder, and Amelia grimaced. She set aside her stuff. “Okay. Yeah. Sure. Lenna, shut the front door? And Sam. Keep checking Lenna out. I’m gonna change into a tank top. I might scream.”
Hopefully, they listened because she was already changing. She did not scream, but it did not feel pleasant either. There was a big bruise on her arm and shoulder where she had crashed into the trash can, and mobility was low. She could hardly move the arm up and down.
The pun went so below Lenna’s radar, it could have been under ground.
”Nice to meet you, Sam.” She nodded once. Did not shake hands. Was probably trained not to shake hands to seal deals, actually. Or as part of an introduction. Her focus stayed on his face.
He had said her name was beautiful? Hmph. Lenna is not beautiful. There are far prettier names, like Sky and Eliana and, heck, even this Ami persons name was kind of cute. But her own? This did not flatter her much.
The man asked Ami how her shoulder was, and the girl moved to let him check. Lenna turned to shut the door, then crossed her arms and watched Sam. What the girl had said had clicked with her.
”Yes.” She said mildly. ”Keep staring this way.”
Checking her out? Hmph.
A minute later, Ami girl said “Done! I’m decent!”
Lenna glanced at her. She was in an orange tank top now. At least, to Lenna who saw all as orange, it was orange. It might have been hot pink to Sam. Or black.

”Gladly.” Sam said as he smiled in Lenna’s direction while sipping his coffee while both women demanded he keep looking at Lenna. Sam was waiting to hear a grunt of pain from Ami while she changed but didn’t that meant she wasn’t going to be out of commission for long if she didn’t go to a healer.
When he got the confirmation that she was decent again Sam raised an eyebrow Lenna’s way. ”Shame. Was getting lost in those eyes.” Sam said raising his coffee again in a mock cheers. He sipped again and turned setting his burrito down on her dresser making sure not to have any food spill on it.
”Alright. Let’s take a look at ya.” he said as he walked over to Ami and studied her shoulder. There was no puncture wounds from what he could see but it was bruised to hell. ”You will need to make me some clothes.” Sam said to Ami again. He mentioned it last night but now he was more convinced that it was worth it. If a sweatshirt stopped a bullet and only left that much bruising just imagine if he had ice over or under it like he normally did.
”This is gonna hurt.” Sam said icing over his hands after setting his coffee down. He didn’t give her much more warning than that and reached for her shoulder making sure not to put too much pressure on it. The ice should distract her from him touching the area of the injuries. Sam attempted to lift her arm a bit his eyes focused on the injury and not Ami in a tank top. He made sure to stop when he saw her wince.
Make him some clothes? Had she said she would do that? “Sure.” She laughed wryly. “Just as soon as I learn to operate a loom. Or maybe I could just enchant you something.”
The laughter hurt her head, but Amelia soldiered on through it. Note to self: never do tequila shots with juniper again. The little slip of a woman could handle them better than her, and it had been asinine to try and keep up.
“I’m still figuring out how I even did this...” She said, a second later. “If I can make more than one thing... I might make you some bulletproof leather pants.”
He would need them in the future she foresaw. The one where he kissed the girls and made them cry, so they kicked him in the butt. Or worse.
Was his request for clothes due to her skill at blocking bullets? Probably.
He told her it was gonna hurt, then chilled his hands with ice. And, it did. The sudden cold made her take in quick breath. His movements caused the expected wince. Yeah. The arm was sprained. Or the shoulder.
She would need to go in for healing.
“Dammit, Sam. A little warning next time...” she growled.
It was funny how he had said he had started to get lost in her eyes. Funny, to her, at least. Because she had been giving him no thing to get lost in. As far as she had been concerned, her poker face was good. It was a road that lead nowhere. She had watched him placidly, face a cool mask.
Lenna had not rolled her eyes when Sam had said he would gladly watch her. Lenna had not gone all a flutter like she figured many weaker women might have done, from a Sam smolder.
Yes, the man was handsome. But this was an unimportant detail. And she was still uncertain of him and his swagger.
Her poker face was so good, Lenna did not even snort derisively at the comment about his potential requirement to interrupt someone’s day, in order to beg directions from an inconvenienced stranger within her eyes. Mostly because that was a weird way to think about handling the problem of getting lost in someone’s eyes. And more so, because she was not all fluttering, so she did not dwell on Sam or his honeyed words. They did not even annoy her. Only amuse. It was a step in the right direction for him, and an improvement over the two women’s staring daggers at him, at least.
Sam iced his hand and checked the girls wound. He did a good job with the whole thing. Lenna left him to it.

”What and have you yell at me not to touch the wound?”
Sam shrugged grabbing his coffee and looking to Lenna with a shrug. ” Sam.” he pointed to himself before winking.”Mansion has a healer but if he won’t heal it there is no reason to panic.” he shook his hand free of his ice and sipped his coffee.
Looking to Ami and making eye contact with her and not looking at her in a sports bra he smirked ”Anyone else would just tell you to ice it.” He took a bite of his burrito and then took a few steps back. ”So who shot you?”
>>”What and have you yell at me not to touch the wound?”
“Yes,” Amelia said tensely. “Exactly that. Would make me feel better...” begrudgingly, she added. “but your point is taken.”
She was still a little grouchy, it seemed. And curse him for a fool if he held it against her. Pain is pain. It loosened tempers. Could he have blamed her for giving him a hint of the rough side of her tongue?
He shrugged. Seemed he could let it slide.
The girl, Lenna , asked if she needed a medic. Sam was purposefully thick. Said his own name. It reminded Amelia briefly of an old joke from a movie.
Surely, you can’t be serious.
I’m perfectly serious. And don’t call me Shirley.
On its heels, followed a memory of the infamous doctor handshake scene.
Doctor. Doctor. Doctor.
Such cornball humor. She couldn’t remember what movies those lines were from ... naked gun? Airplane... damn good movies, all.
He turned his attention back to her, and she met his eye. Who shot her?
“Some guy in an alley harassed a girl named Juniper.” She said. Maybe there was a hint of pride in her voice as she continued? “My powers wouldn’t work on him. So I hit him with a 2x4 and kicked him until he was down. He really had not expected me to get back up.”
“Hoodie blocked the bullet. It was the trash can and bring knocked around that got me. Think I should go see that doc guy?”
She had not been calling him a medic. Lenna had been inquiring upon whether or not the girl needed on. But, some people think everything is about themselves. She said nothing at his little joke, just stared at him. And he clarified.
His clarification was that the mansion had a healer who might be able to heal the girl.
”Yes! That is what I am talking about,” She nodded, mollified.
And of the healer did not heal, there was no reason to panic. Because it seemed it was not serious enough to require more than ice. According to Sam.
Sam asked who had shot the girl, and Amelia said — well, she gave a really involved story. It sounded like she had tried to be some sort of heroic figure. And gotten shot over it. Wait. What was this about a hoodie?
She cut in, when the girl asked if she needed to see some doctor.
”You need to listen better. He said ice it. It will heal. And Amelia... are you saying... you have a hoodie that blocks bullets?” She blinked at the girl, somewhat amazed.
Amelia looked at her, and — wait, had she just winked? What even was—
“Yup, Lenna. My hoodie blocks bullets. I need to figure out how it works so I can make one for Sam.” She shot the man a thumbs up, then retrieved her coffee and burrito. She offered Lenna a bite of the burrito, as well.
What was it, with strange people offering her bites of their burrito?? She accepted, Of course. But it was strange.
Looking to Sam, she said ”You will meet me in the mansion kitchens today at noon for lunch. Yes?”

Harassed Juniper and shot Ami. This guy was batting at nothing except for a very pissed off Sam. He hoped it wasn’t’ the same Juniper but decided he’d ask her. Ami didn’t have enough information other than the guy was bugging and shooting at his friends. The man was a dead one if he found him. ”Blonde Juniper? Short, likes high fives?” he asked hoping if it was her he’d get more pieces to the puzzle. ”Also you remember where?”
Sam nodded his head with Lenna when repeated for him that she needed to ice it. That was probably what anyone would say but then again DocProf was a healer and this was something he could fix easily however from what he could tell he could be stingy with the use of his abilities. He called them teachable moments.
”I called dibs.” he smirked into his burrito about the hoodie and returned the thumb up.
”It’s a date.” Sam nodded his head and sipped his coffee offering a thumb up to her as well. ”Need to come check on you more if I get to meet beautiful women.” he joked to Ami then started for the door. ”Let me know if you think of anything about the guy. No one shoots at my friends.” Sam sipped his coffee left the room then yelled out. ”Just ice it!”
It almost sounded like Sam knew exactly who she was talking about. Amelia pursed her lips thoughtfully. She did not repeat what she had said the prior night, about the superior quality of the blonde’s posterior. Instead, she just said “Yeah. Blonde. Did some weird thing where she passed through my bags and grabbed them out of my hands, without touching me.”
She did not comment on height. Height is a sore subject for those who lack it. Probably pretty small of her, to hold his minor heightism against him. But calling someone out on their height is a low blow.
As for where she had been. Amelia shrugged. “I rode the bus from the mall to the end of the line. There was a bar near the alley... she told someone about him there... so they probably had the cops pick him up or something. I don’t remember where. Or the bars name. Sorry.”
It did not really occur to Amelia that ‘or something’ might have been something a bit more physical. A bit more permanent. Well, maybe it did, in the dark part of her soul. But that part was not currently in charge.
She turned her attention back to story telling, told about the hoodie and the bullet. And golden girl, in the running pants told her she needed listening skills. Amelia would have been annoyed with her... if she had not been a cutie. Plus, the girl had played to her ego. Asking about her skillz. She looked more astounded than incredulous. Good for her.
She told Lenna all about it, and shot Sam the thumbs up. Amelia decided cute girls who thought she was impressive got burrito. Lenna took a nibble. Then, solidified her date plans with Sam.
Ah well. Adelynn was cuter. And she didn’t barge into peoples private conversations to accuse them of wild things. Amelia decided she liked the girl’s spirit... her heart had been in the right place. Like Sam, the girl needed to work on her execution skills. The irony of that statement existed in the void beyond the fourth wall. Two assassins, needing to work on their executions. But Amelia wasn’t privy to that information.
Amelia nodded as Sam wrapped up their conversation. Chuckled a little at the pretty women comment. Maybe she would have to help him find someone that was more his type. It would be fun, like with her brother back in the day. And look, she had already started... with Lenna.
“I will!” She called out to him as he left. Both about the guy, and the ice. Had he left her another ice pack or would she have to hunt one down?
Exit, Sam.
Lenna looked to her. Her face gave away little emotion. ”He thinks it is a date.” She said, lightly.
Amelia arched an eyebrow.
Lenna explained. ”Some times, a cigar is just a cigar, Amelia. A sandwich, just a sandwich.” Smiling to herself, the girl added quietly ”I hope he likes spicy... it is what I do best.”
Amelia laughed. Sam had no clue what he was in for. This girl was great!
“I think he will smirk at you and tell you it is the best he’s ever had... even while his face is on fire. He strikes me as the type.” She mused. “Tough guy. Ladies man.”
Lenna nodded. ”Yes. That is my read of him as well.” She was quiet for a moment, then pensively she told Amelia. ”That person... if Sam finds them... I don’t think they will like it much.”
So Lenna thought Sam was going to hurt him? Amelia shrugged. “Well he is an X-man. Handling bad guys is sort of their job. And it isn’t like he’s a wimp. Pretty sure I remember my ex saying he taught them how to fight.”
Why had that comment brought a bright glint to the Lenna girl’s eye?
The morning dragged on as the two girls talked. Eventually, Amelia even iced her shoulder and went hunting for a certain Doc Prof.
