He’ll be quick to cry and hide, and very much dislikes any sort of violence, despite his abilities. However, once he’s brought out of his shell, he can be a very kind and polite individual, being very bright and willing to learn what he can, and loves getting into interesting conversations and can get very playful and excited around those he trusts. When angered, Jack is a very no-nonsense type of person, not taking no for an answer and will even growl and claw at people if he gets angry enough. MutationsMutation description: Jack is, in most senses of the word, a dragon-shifter. He normally already has scales, wings, and a tail as a part of his normal body. However, he also has the unique ability to shift into a massive dragon of legend. In this form, he is easily the size of a school-bus, tail and wings not included, and has the massive strength, speed, and endurance that goes with it. In his more ferocious form, he can spew dark, shadowy flames from his mouth, which burns hotter than normal flames and thus burns things easier. Despite him still having white scales in this form, he is destruction incarnate and is relentless when it comes to fulfilling his goals and protecting those he holds dear. The Yang to his smaller form’s Yin, in combat, this is not a form one would like to trifle with lightly.
Strengths: 1. Immense strength
-With his draconic strength that can rival even the strongest animals, Jack can lift up to a boulder that is easily twice his size and toss it.
2. Hardened Scales
-The pitch-black and blinding-white scales on Jack’s body act as armor for his already hulking mass. Almost as hard as steel, they are effectively bulletproof, though they do have their limits.
3. Quick Flight
-With a wingspan of 60 feet across, Jack can fly at speeds matching that of most cars, being able to hit 80 MPH at top speed.
4. Shadow Breath
-Jack can fire mythical, shadowy flames from his mouth like a flamethrower, which can break concrete and cause flammable objects to burn easier than normal fire.
Weaknesses and Limitations:1. Jack constantly wants to be in one of his transformed states for at least an hour a day, otherwise getting a bit cranky if he cannot. He can shift from any from his forms, though it takes less energy if he's already in his smaller dragon form going into his bigger dragon form.
2. While Jack is immune to his own flames, he is not immune to any others
3. If firing from his mouth, a simple bucket full of water would be more than enough to snuff out his flames momentarily.
4. While he can fly extremely fast, he is a lumbering giant in his bigger form. As such, he can only barely catch up to a running person running.
5. Jack can only breathe his fire for a maximum of 10 seconds before he has to breathe in.
6. It also causes Jack to be very animalistic, in terms of acting like a predator or just being overly playful like a puppy at times.
7. While the transformation doesn’t drain him, the process of morphing does, and can only shift in and out twice every few hours. If he is caught in one dragon form or another after his limit, he will remain in this form until a few hours have passed.
8. Has a rather large appetite, though at least has a good metabolism to go with it.
9. When flying, Jack can only fly at top speed for about 30 minutes before having to stop and rest for 15 minutes.
10. Jack is roughly 5 tons in this form, making him extremely heavy to lift.
Secondary Mutation description:Along with being able to transform into a bigger dragon, Jack is also able to transform into a much smaller dragon, much younger looking and about the size of a pug, and the Yin to the bigger form’s Yang. In this form, he is very quick on his feet and much more nimble with his movements. He can also be able to crawl into smaller spaces or make it much easier to hide. Being the lighter of the two, Jack fires lighter energy that doesn’t burn as easily as the shadow breath, and has...well, healing spit, usually administered in the form of him licking someone. That being said, he is a lot more playful in this form than either of his others and often craves attention.
Strengths:1. Quick on his feet
-Even on his small feet, Jack is surprisingly fast, and can catch up to even a jaguar running at top speed.
2. Fires Light Breath
-Similar to Shadow Breath, Jack can fire pure light energy, but it is slightly weaker and cannot burn materials as easily as the Shadow Breath
3. Healing Saliva
-Playing true to being the lighter and kinder of the two forms, when Jack licks someone, he can help heal fatigue and minor wounds, as weird as it may technically be.
4. Flutter/Double Jump
-When moving, Jack can use his smaller wings to double jump and get to higher ground quickly. If staying still, he can float up to 20 feet in the air.
Weaknesses and Limitations:1. Tires out when running
-While he is surprisingly fast and agile for his smaller size, it has it’s limits. Jack can only run at top speed for about a minute before having to slow down and breathe.
2. Weaker attacks
-Jack doesn’t have the immense strength and durability in this form, so he doesn’t hit as hard nor can tank as much.
3. Healing has a cool down.
-He can only help heal a person every ten to twenty minutes, depending on how severe the damage is.
4. Can’t actually fly fully
-While he can flutter in place, Jack cannot actually fly properly, almost entirely grounded.
5. Needy
-Along with this, this form brings the attention seeker out of Jack more than before, and will often act like a needy animal in normal situations.
Physical AbilitiesGeneral Physical Capabilities: Normally, Jack has the physical capabilities of the average beginning exerciser, able to pick up a stack of phonebooks at most.
Fighting Style: Jack is not a fan of fighting, though is able to make use of light footwork and animalistic fighting in his dragon forms. However, he currently has no formal training, despite showing interest in martial arts.
Fighting Style Pros/Cons: No formal training, but makes up for it with quick thinking and instinctual fighting, not stopping until the opponent yields.
History Of Your CharacterThe moment Jack was born, there was something clearly off about the child. The first time his mother held him in her arms, the glaring features of stark white hair, purple eyes, and a small fang hung from the child’s mouth. Simply writing this off as a small deformity that wouldn’t be a big deal, the single mother took her child home happily. However, in the back of her mind, she already knew that something was definitely different about her son. Nonetheless, the first few years were uneventful, the child proving to be quite easy to handle, and growing up was well mannered. The father, sadly, ran died to health complications only a month after the mother was revealed to be pregnant, only leaving behind their house and a small necklace, containing a symbol that his father admittedly made up, wanting it to symbolize hope for their unborn child.
However, when Jack turned 3, a rather surprising development occurred: His mother turned her back for only a few minutes to get him something to eat, and when she returned there was a small, white dragon in the place of her son. She was shocked at first, but she did not scream. She had read about things like this happening a few years prior, and now the truth of her own child matched those that she had read about: her son was a mutant, and a draconic one at that. Instead of freaking out, she simply comforted her now transformed child and calmed him down, eventually getting the boy to revert. The initial transformation took its toll, and left the boy with a rather long tail, forcing the mother to homeschool the child.
As the next 7 years went on, the boy’s mutation grew more and more, starting with large wings around the age of 6, and then scales appearing on his body around age 9. The mother didn’t care. All she cared about was giving her child all the love she could give, and the boy had a good life because of it, albeit a lonely one. When he asked about what was wrong with him, why he was so different from all the other boys and girls he saw on TV and saw outside his window every now and again, his mother only told him “There’s nothing wrong with you...you’re just a miracle of nature. I can see it...and someday others will too.” The thought kept Jack from being depressed, and the boy always kept his head up, no matter what happened.
That is, until the mother found herself with the same sickness that had killed her husband so long ago. It wasn’t too noticeable at first, but as the months went on, it became more and more apparent, and even Jack knew it. His Mama was dying...and there was nothing he could do about it. Even then, though, his mother kept smiling through it all. She made sure to impart what she could to the boy as the months waged on.
He still had nightmares of the morning she passed, the boy wailing over and over again for his Mama, holding her close to him, praying for some miracle to happen. He wailed even as he himself buried her, planting a small sapling above her grave.
After that, he left his home behind, knowing that eventually, bad people would find him. He had to get away, despite himself not wanting to leave his Mama behind. He regretted this decision for the years to come. He used his abilities to steal food from wherever he could, often going hungry because of the lack of being able to do so. As such, he hardly really knew the limits of what he could do, aside from being able to turn into a small dragon and fly. However...soon enough that will all change...

Sample RP:“Thief, thief! Stop that freak!!”
Jack ran as fast as he could as the words of an enraged man bellowed behind him. The boy clutched a rather large, paper bag close to his chest: a fast-food bag for a rather big family. It was a stroke of luck like God was smiling down at him for once in his life. When was the last time he had eaten...two days? Three? A week? It was hard to tell. All he knew was that he had about 10 juicy, delicious burgers and large orders of fries in his hands, and he was not about to let such a feast escape his stomach.
The boy had only baggy, makeshift pants and a makeshift cloak on, his long tail wrapped around him like a belt. To say the boy looked like a mess was an understatement. He looked dirty, with soot covering his face, body, and even his surprisingly even scales. His wings were clearly visible, but he could do nothing about that. He needed to find a good place to take off...but with the crowded New York City, it was hard to do so without hurting someone.
As such, the boy just ran as far as his legs would take him. Even as he could hear the sounds of sirens as multiple police cars chased him, he refused to stop. He knew what would happen if they caught him. He refused to go through that...he needed to live, for his mother’s sake. He wouldn’t let himself fall, for he knew even now his mother watched him. Was she proud of him for what he’s been becoming? A petty thief, having no choice but to steal but refraining from hurting people in the process? He didn’t really know...but he just knew he had to do what he could to survive.
He held the bag close to his chest, taking a detour down an alleyway. It was too cramped to spread his wings, but he just had to get out of sight and shrink down. It was his specialty, after all. His draconic form was what kept him alive thus far, and was proud of what he was, just as his Mama taught him to be. Even if he was only the size of a pug when he did it. Hey, it’s got him out of plenty of sticky situations. Can’t really judge there.
“Freeze! Hands in the air, mutant!”
Jack still didn’t look back as he heard the call of an officer behind him. As he ran, he simply unwrapped his tail from his waist and used it to knock over a few trash cans as he passed them. However, he would eventually come across a dead end, with now where else to go. The dragon boy growled in annoyance, looking around in desperation for a way out.
“Hold it, kid! Hands where we can see ‘em, and turn around! We WILL shoot!”
Jack slowly turned around, glaring under his hood at the officers before him. There was about 5...and lord knows there’s probably more on the way. His tail swished from side to side, the boy eyeing the cops warily. His heart beat rapidly in his chest, and he clutched the bag close to him. All of this trouble for a bag of fast food...seriously? No...it was because he was a mutant, nothing more. They didn’t understand him, and his mother taught him people were scared of the unknown. He held no anger towards the humans...only fear.
That fear, however, was what kept Jack going.
Jack threw off his cloak suddenly, throwing it towards the officers as he ran towards them. He put the bag in his mouth, and suddenly began to shrink down, his features quickly changing into that of a small dragonling. The whole process took only a few seconds, and just as quickly as he transformed, he jumped. Using one officer’s head as a bounce pad, Jack launched himself onto the side of the building. He stuck his claws into the bricks, keeping himself steady as he launched himself to the top, his small wings flapping as he fluttered to the top. Gunshots fired behind him, but Jack was quick and nimble, definitely enough to avoid the clumsy, shaken shots of the police.
He reached the top with a bit of effort, the small dragonling looking down at the police below. He dropped the bag for just a moment, and promptly looked at them expectingly. He wanted to see how they would react for a second, before promptly blowing them a raspberry and taking his prize back to his hideaway. The dragon avoided death this time, and he was generously rewarded for his efforts. The malnourished dragon would be feasting well tonight, even if it was only a temporary solution before finding a new hideout tomorrow.
Thus is the life of Jack Orion, the smallest of the dragons.
