The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

It's a Beautiful Day for Pranking Others (Warlock)
Emma had been having a rough week. She hadn't been able to close any deals on any of the houses or apartments that she had been showing for the past couple months, so her boss started giving her grief about it. And some days he just didn't know when to lay it off. To top that all off, she came home from work to find out that her Mom had secretly been contacting her Dad. Not only that, but that her Mom had decided that she was gonna move back home with him. He fed her some lame-ass apology for cheating and swore he wouldn't do it again (which Emma knew was complete bullshit), but her Mom believed him and said she missed him. It ticked Emma off, but she wasn't gonna try and force her Mama to stay. If she wanted to leave, she wasn't gonna stop her. She tried talk to her Mama, but she wasn't listening to reason. If she finally realized that he was a scumbag and wanted to come back, she knew where to find her.
Emma decided that she was gonna go to the mall to try and blow some steam off(or at least get distracted so she didn't have to think about it all). She slammed her apartment door, following an argument with her Mom, and stormed off to the nearest subway. She glared at anyone who bumped into her, soon got frustrated, and decided to just walked the rest of the way to the mall.
Emma got there soon enough and made her way to Sundough's coffee shop. She needed a large caramel iced coffee. When she got her order, she sat at an open table. She never understood why the company decided to have open umbrellas over their tables when they're inside a mall. Regardless of their reasoning, it just seemed to be another thing that irritated Emma. She started drinking her coffee, people watched, and looked around at shops she thought about visiting. She hoped that doing so would help her start to relax some.
Spring was in the air, contracts were lining up, and Warlock had money to burn. Of course, he didn’t want to spend it or at least spend as little of it as possible. Dressed in his best charming, sweet princely guise he ventured off the mall. What kiosk vulture or sales associate didn’t like a little playful flirting and attention? He was only too happy to help
Jeans, button down white shirt tight enough to hint at the body beneath, hair slicked back slightly but messy, bright eyed, warm smile, a few nice accessories, and a quick peruse of entertainment website and he was ready for idle pop culture chit chat and fawning. Oh he had made good fun of it. Some shoes that shouldn’t have been part of the sale, cologne that wasn’t exactly already opened beforehand, early access to the sale at Macy’s, and some sunglasses he’d just straight up stolen: shopping was fun. He chuckled with the jewelry kiosk girl. Oh yeah, the Kardashians were the best! They’d love that onyx ring too! A playful touch to the shoulder as he winked of how fun she was and there ya go: half off the ring.
Man he was thirsty. Manipulating sleeping mundane mortal morons was tiring! Caffeine was most definitely required for further mission activates!
The damn coffee shop seemed concerned it might rain indoors. As if. What were they afraid of? Weather mutants? Please. Ved chuckled as he walked by a not so bad looking dirty blond sipping her caramel whatever as he headed for the counter. Hm, maybe later.
Emma sat for a while and started to relax. People watching was great. She could be critical in her head and not cause too much trouble. The mall was very busy, but her mutant sensing was pretty dead. If there were mutants around, they weren't near enough to her. Then again she wasn't exactly moving around.
She was starting to get bored, seeing as she finished her coffee. When suddenly she felt her right hand tingle crazily as she heard a chuckle and a nice looking guy walked by. She smirked at him and wondered to herself if he stole that outfit off of a mannequin from the men's warehouse store. He definitely wore it better, but he seemed too confident, erring on the side of cocky. He could be fun...to steal a power from or anything else. She wasn't too picky. As long as he didn't try to sleep with her.
She walked up to counter, standing behind him. After he placed his order, she placed her hand between his shoulder blades, smiled at him sweetly, and offered to pay for his order. She also added a regular coffee with cream and sugar. She liked her girly drinks from time to time, but regular coffee was great too. It might be even better because then you could actually taste the quality of the bean and roast.
She stepped to the side, next to him as they waited on their orders. She needed a better way of finding out what powers she was getting. Obviously the whole bestow and watch thing was getting old. And there were some that weren't so obvious, like when she turned her Texan dance partner into one of those Victoria's Secret Angels that strutted down the catwalk in those ridiculously huge wings. Maybe she could just ask. That was simple and easy. I mean...she had to try something new, right? And she didn't have any better ideas. So she leaned over slightly and whispered quietly to him, "So what kinda mutant are you?"
“One caramel whatever she’s-“ the soft-toned flirt murmured as he went to gesture toward the table and found instead the girl next to him. He grinned playfully and nodded. “Whatever she’s having, please.”
The young man at the register and the girl next to him giggled and nodded – and probably rolled their eyes after they turned around. Then the girl touched him and offered to pay for him! Well wasn’t that luck. He hadn’t even suggested as such. “Sure, thank you,” he smiled. She followed it up with a straight coffee. Long days and nights perhaps? Probably fun…
Moving aside others began to order and they waited. The girl leaned in to whisper and a cocky, wry grin blossomed on his lips as she did. It remained through training but he couldn’t hide the twitch of his eyebrows as she asked him what kind of mutant he was.
Well. Suffice to say a slew of profanities ran through his head when she did that! How’d she know? Who did she know? How’d she guess? Or could she know? What could she do? There were a few possibilities. He’d heard of a guy that could smell the difference of your DNA but caffeinated guesses of luck probably weren’t here thing. There was something else.
So, letting his brow settle down and finding some attempt at warmth in his voice, he leaned in to her. He could play a bit of this game. He might not have all the cards now, but maybe he could draw one or two clues from the circumstances. Power blossomed on his right hand as he lightly touched at her back and he brought his lips closely to her ear. “You should be careful what you whisper to strangers,” he whispered as the suggestion of his touch flowed into her: stumble back as if light-headed.
Of course, Warlock was a gentleman and he had all intention of catching her before she hit the ground.
