Personality: unbiased, happy go lucky kind of guy. He's been lucky most of his life, but he's goten sick of being sheilded from the real world. Nail is rather new to the whole mutant Isiues of the world, which has lead him to making some enemies. (Kaz)

Description of ability: Nail has the ability to form a hard crystalline exoskeleton. Crystal is formed from glands in his skin, and he can shape that crystal into various shapes. In the beginning, Nails powers were only activated through instinct, but he has gained a great cpntrol over his abilities while sitting in his cell. However, he'd rather not let certain people realise this. He can't shoot his crystal, but he can spread it along surfaces, and take some time to create something and separate it from his exoskeliton. He has just recently gained the ability to make part of his exoskeliton remotely, but he still does not know much about this new power.
Cons of ability: Whether Nail knows it or not, his exoskeleton is made up of carbon, which he acquires from digesting Carbohydrates, as well as Carbon dioxide which he inhales. This means that if he does not eat a diet full of Carbohydrates, he will be limited in his abilities. The same effect takes place when the air around him has a low Carbon dioxide percentage.
Frequent use of his ability can also lead to injury. The glands in his skin slowely begin to deteriorate, causing painful skin damage that look similar to burns. If he were to fully coat his body in a single layer of crystal, he would find himself encased within his own suit of armor. He can only produce the crystal exoskeleton through glands throughout his body, which means he must come into contact with someone to encase them in crystal aswell.
Fighting style: Nail is a reserved fighter, and truly wishes harm on no one. He usually plays defense, only attacking if attacked, and usually in a way to end the encounter as quickly as possible. However, when he is truely overtaken by rage and the willingness to kill, Nail has ben known to go into a kind of berserker rage and using his powers to their full potencial. Though fearce and possibly intimidating, the rage is by no means graceful or tactical... usually leaving him in comprimising situations in battle
History of character: Nails upbringings in middle class western Canada has given him a rather untainted view of the world. His parents were hard working people, who instilled in him a sense of unbiased judgment. When he discovered his abilities during his high school career, his parents saw it as a gift, and gave him total unconditional support. However, during his final years of high school, he found himself mixed in with gang activities. Drugs, sex, and violence were some of the few sins he witnessed during this time.
It wasn't until he abused his powers during a incident that he realized he needed to get out. The boy was from a rival gang, and had pulled a knife on him. Nail walked away from the incident unharmed. His opponent however was skewered, dying from major blood loss and immense trauma to the vital organs.
Nail left his home in Vancouver, with a goodbye note to his parents, explaining his horrible mistake. He left Canada, and began wandering the US, not quite sure what to do with himself, and unable to face his parents and peers after taking someones life. He wants to learn to control and perfect his abilities, so he may protect himself and others, and also to keep himself from hurting any more people. Eventually, Nail wandered into New York. His aimless wandering led him from one side of the continent, to the other. Not really sure what he was seeking in the famous metropolis, Nail simply wandered around the city and eventually met Iris.
However, they were both captured by Abyss and Kaz, and hualed off to King Pharmacuiticals. While there, he and Iris, along with a few other mutants, where exposed to the girl named Jack. And of course... they all went Haywire. After the experiment, the other mutants disappeared, and only Iris and Nail where left in thier cells. Nail of course, is not exactly happy with the fact that his first steps into the world by himself as a Mutant, has landed him as a science experiment. This is his first real experience of prejudice and mistreatment of mutants, mostely because he has hidden his abilities most of his life.
