Character
Personality: (How your character behaves, social tendencies, quirks, etc.) Colleen is on edge most of the time, her X-gene positive status gives her cause to fear that others suspect her mutation. Colleen wants to believe that people are inherently good, but her vulnerability makes her hesitant to trust others. Amongst those she deems “her type” musicians and artists Colleen is very open and comfortable, making friends easily through her strong opinions on art and appreciation for talent. When around more average types, Colleen is quietly suspicious while making small talk and comes off as stand-offish. At her core, Colleen longs for companionship with other mutants, a trait she shares with her sister.
Olivia, on the other hand, is as introverted as to be expected. She sees no reason to believe that people can be good, as she has never experienced them. In her life, Olivia has learned to trust only her sister, No one else has known she even existed, this fact leaves Olivia bitter towards the world. However, she is lonely, even if she doesn’t know it, she hopes there is a mutant out there that can relate to the sad life of non-existence.
Hobbies/ Interests: Colleen fancies herself a musician, guitar and bass, but believes she has no future in music. However, she is a talented painter, but she prefers music to art, despite her talent.
Job or part time job and description: Initially she is homeless but this may improve over improve over time.
Fears/ phobias/ concerns: Colleen hears a voice in her head that she has confirmed multiple times are not other people and it scares her, additionally she fears rejection and ridicule.
Special talents: talented watercolor painter, acceptably skilled musician
Mutation description:
Colleen creates a telepathic link with others upon touch, she is able to “hear the other person’s thoughts but is limited to whatever the other person is presently thinking. Presently, Colleen’s telepathy is involuntary, she is unable to turn her power off and given that she is constantly touching her sister’s body, their minds are always in contact. The link does not have a distance limit, but is limited in time to thirty minutes or less at which point it will fade out and the person’s thoughts will become inaccessible until she touches that person again.
Olivia is Colleen's twin sister that never developed beyond her living blood form, in utero, Olivia replaced Colleen's blood and began to reside inside her sister's circulatory system.
Colleen is a low level telepath able to sense and communicate with others mentally, but is unable to manipulate or control thoughts. Colleen can only use her telepathy if she is in physical contact with the opposite person, which is why she talks with Olivia frequently.
Olivia is living blood, she has some control over her shape and integrity, for example if Colleen were cut, Olivia would not immediately drip out of the wound as Olivia can hold her body together if need be. Additionally, Olivia can independently move of her own will. However, Olivia can not control her body for long periods of time and would not be able to, for example become a human shaped blob of blood (plus her sister would die if she did that).
Strengths: Telepathy gives Colleen an advantage of knowing what others are actively thinking. She can communicate telepathically with the person she is linked to and they can “speak” to her if they’re aware she’s “listening”
Olivia has no immediately discernable advantages to her mutation. Though she is aware of chemistry, specifically blood chemistry, on a level no full bodied human can be. Her ability to shape her form does come with some unique abilities. Despite being blood, she does have all five senses, though without the specific organ to use them, they are greatly hindered. She can hear by filling one of Colleen’s ear drums with blood and her dispersed brain can make sense of the sound. If someone were to touch her body, she would be aware of it in a similar way that we are aware someone is touching our skin. Despite these strange adaptations, she can not smell or see.
Weaknesses and Limitations: Colleen can't influence a person's decisions or thoughts, only be aware of them. Additionally Colleen can not search through a mind to learn anything the person is not actively thinking at that time. Example: The President knows the nuclear codes in his brain, but if he's thinking about lunch, all Colleen will know about the President is that he wants a hoagie.
Olivia is so limited by her mutation that she can’t even function like a non-mutant human.
Physical Abilities
General Physical Capabilities: (Strength/Speed/Reflexes/Stamina/Flexibility) Despite her athletic physical body type, Colleen is not exceptional in her strength or speed, but there is always room for improvement.
Fighting Style: Colleen is inclined to believe she is tougher than she really is, but her fighting abilities are limited to wild punching and kicking.
Fighting Style Pros/Cons: Outside of landing a lucky strike, Colleen stands little fighting chance against a trained opponent.
History Of Your Character
(Please write the history of your character and explain when they discovered their power.)
Having lived her entire life in Michigan, Colleen developed a distaste for small town America. For most of her early life, Colleen got along with her family and did everything she could so that her parents would be proud of her. After Colleen discovered her powers, and the thoughts of those around her, she began to break away of her parent’s expectations and developed a bit of an anti-social attitude. Olivia was born with her power, or born AS her power, but Colleen discovered her tactile telepathy in her early teens as her sister's lonely thoughts began to manifest in her head. Shortly after that, Colleen began sensing the thoughts of her parents and her friends. Colleen initially believed she was insane but eventually concluded she was a mutant. The tactile aspect of her powers was easiest to control and she became an avid camping enthusiast to avoid touching anyone. At this point, Colleen discovered that despite not touching anyone she still heard a single person's thoughts. Which lead her to some self-harm. Soon after, Colleen discovered her blood was abnormal in that it didn’t drip or leak from her body, giving her the first clue to her sister’s existence. These developments convinced her that she really was insane and suicidal, Colleen began seeing a psychologist who arranged for her to be secretly tested for the X-gene.
Despite laws in her state requiring medical professionals to inform parents that their child is a mutant, Colleen managed to keep her secret and to date, the Stadler's believe Colleen is studying abroad instead of running around New York looking for help with her powers.

Colleen watched as the other passengers jostled with each other to retrieve their bags from the overhead. She had no desire to be amongst them. Yes she would love nothing more than to be off the stupid airplane and enjoying a cigarette in the New York summer air, but she had a great degree of skin showing, on account of the heat, just like everyone else. A brushed shoulder or bumped finger meant intrusive thoughts that she was blissfully free of for the past six hours.
I want water.
Colleen searched for her water bottle, she didn't feel thirsty but sometimes the voice in her head would inform her of her body's needs before her own body did.
Finally the jostling crowd in the aisle to her left formed a line and started to shuffle towards the exit and Colleen wondered what the time difference was between waiting for everyone else to get off the plane versus jockeying among the crowd for her bag and trudging single file for an eternity.
Colleen fingered the corners of her pack of Marlboro Lights, she was very ready to get off this plane.
This is never going to work, you should have done the MA program in Germany instead of trying to run away to New York.
Colleen frowned and thought, I'm not arguing about this with you, you're imaginary and your opinions suck. New York is the biggest hub of mutants in the world, if anyone can help me they are living here.
------
Outside the airport after searching endlessly for the designated smoking area, Colleen watched taxis whizz by. In the distance she could see the Manhattan skyline. The flight to New York cost some $500, and her parents gave her three grand to get to Europe, it seemed like a lot of money, but she had no other source of income and the remaining $2,500 needed to last.
I hate them too, but I really don't think this plan is going to work. the voice said, uninvited.
I could do with your constant doubting me. You know what that bastard did to me, I hope I never see my stupids parents again and as of right now, they have no clue where I am.
I remember, but there has to be a better way to do this.
Colleen decided to stop talking to the voice and instead approached a fellow smoker, "Hey, do you know how much a taxi into the city runs?"
The man exhaled smoke through his nose, "Fifty or sixty to Brooklyn, I think."
Colleen tried to think of which part was Brooklyn. Either way, sixty dollars was way too much for a car ride into the city.
"Take the subway, it's $2.75 and you can get to anywhere you need."
Colleen considered this, thanked the man and flicked her butt into the street.
----
Colleen stared at the sky between the buildings. It felt like it had been dark for an eternity, surely sunrise was soon. Her left eye drooped in an attempt to force her into sleep. She felt tried and wanted to sleep, but the vulnerability of sleeping unprotected in an alleyway terrified her. A few homeless people had snooped around her chosen spot, but left once they realized it was taken.
The voice had suggested a hotel at least for this first night, but Colleen needed to conserve money. Maybe with $2,500 she could buy a used car and start sleeping in that, at least until she found work.
