The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

It was hard to relax with someone poking at your face. Eventually, Javier worked himself into a sitting position, and looked at Roxie. She had taken some hits during the fight, but she looked satisfied with the overall results. As long as no other surprises jumped out at them.
>>”No. Just a few victims who can’t move and some animals milling about.”
Javier sighed and leaned on his uninjured arm, surveying the results. Animals were mostly still dazed by their experience, and so were the people, although many of them already had their phones out.
>>”But I can’t let you sleep. Pretty sure your noggin is okay. But I definitely don’t need you napping if you have a concussion. I can’t tell, after all, I’m not a doctor, nor do I have X-Ray vision. Thanks for the assist, Javier. Don’t think I would have been able to do anything without your help.”
Wait, did he have a concussion?... Javier shook his head, which was not a great idea in retrospect, and gave Roxie a small, shy smile. "It's not like I had much of a choice... And you did pretty great." As far as super strength and impromptu superheroes went, she was definitely a much better option than him. People were lucky she was around to help.
Sirens wailed in the distance, approaching. Javier let out another sigh.
"That must be the police." The professionals were on the way. Finally. "You know you should be on a superhero team or something..."
Roxie smirked as she sat next to Javier, just taking a moment to catch her own breath. It had been a trying day and she was eager to put it behind her. At this point, all she wanted to do was put this park behind her and head back into the city where she wouldn’t feel so weak. It was strange how incidents like this only ever seemed to happen whenever she was out of the safety of her homestead.
Guess that is what she gets for leaving the house.
Still, she was thankful that she didn’t go through this alone. Despite her heightened strength, she wasn’t at full power. The building around her was minimalist, at most, and had she been alone, it would have been far more likely that a bigger fight would have broken out. She couldn’t have handled all the giant animals and the Beastmaster, and it would have surely led to the building being destroyed.
Then she would have been far worse for the case. But thankfully Javier was here and his considerable strength and quick thinking saved her. She honestly believe that he had saved her life and, for that, she was grateful.
>>"It's not like I had much of a choice... And you did pretty great."
She smirked. ”Thanks.” She sighed and placed her hands behind her, leaning on them as she lifted her gaze up. She could feel the tired settling in. She would be fine once she returned to center of the city, but until then she needed to just let herself feel hurt. A hand reached up to her side where the fox’s teeth had scraped her skin. That was going to burn later.
Her head tilted at the sounds of sirens and she sighed in relief. She didn’t know what took the X-Men, or the authorities, so long, but she was glad that she didn’t have to be the one to haul everyone in. It was done.
>>"That must be the police...You know you should be on a superhero team or something..."
A soft chuckle on her lips and Roxie turned to face him. ”I’ve heard that alot late. But I’m not much of a team player,” she nodded to him. ”Same goes to you. You handled those animals like a champ.”
The police were arriving at the scene. Cars parked outside, the first officers were making their way to the building, or so Javier assumed. They were probably accompanied by Animal Control, which was a good thing, and if they saw any of the footage at all, probably MRC as well. Javier sighed with relief. Roxie had handled the mutant criminal like it was her day job.
>>”I’ve heard that alot late. But I’m not much of a team player. Same goes to you. You handled those animals like a champ.”
Javier chuckled a little and shook his head. Technically, she could be a vigilante on her own, but even from Javi's limited experience it was clear that that was probably a bad idea.
"Yeah, except my powers are not at all reliable..."
