The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

>> “ Why the f*** do you think you can f****n swear at me?”
He didn't. Honestly. Javier never swore at anyone, because he hated confrontation. He was more surprised at himself than angry at the girl. But she was definitely angry at him now.
>>“You f****n think that because I am a f****n mutant that you can-”
Javier blinked at the same time he was shrinking away from her. She was a mutant. Angry, wary, and probably scared of being found out. Javier was not one to out anyone, but he was not sure how to get it through the swearing that he was on her side.
>>“Give me f****n proof that you’re f****n a mutant, f****n right now”
Javier looked around the room in panic. How could he prove his powers without destroying something? And even if he found an option, would his powers even work? They tended to crap out in the worst possible moments. He sighed, trying to keep calm and not spook the girl anymore. He was a mutant, and he could definitely demonstrate his powers on a smaller scale. His gaze fell on a metallic filing cabinet, almost as tall as he was, and very sturdy. Getting up from his chair, he reached one hand under the cabinet, willing his powers to lift it.

Julia watched as Javier panicked. Her thoughts becoming more panicked themselves as she saw the scene unfold that seemed like she was right to assume that he was a bold face liar. Her own expression would remain hostile as she held on to the semblance that at least he was panicked and not attacking her yet.
Julia wondered what he was doing as he went over to the filing cabinet. Was he showing his supposed powers or was he just being an *ss? Then she realized or well drew to the conclusion that he was trying to attack her with the filing cabinet. “ you’re trying to f****n knock that f****n filling cabinet over on me? What are you f****n stupid? That’s f****n too far and f****n too heavy for you to f****n shove on me!” She said or well yelled aggressively but all of it was out of being defensive or aggressive to get him to ‘stand down’.
The cabinet didn't move one inch, Javier felt a sudden wave of shame and frustration. Of course this would be the time his powers would decide to crap out. and she wasn't even an adapted! She was a mutant, with some power that required larger clothes. So, logically, she could not have a canceling aura. Which meant, Javi's powers failed all on their own. Again. He swore in Spanish under his breath.
>>“ you’re trying to f****n knock that f****n filling cabinet over on me? What are you f****n stupid? That’s f****n too far and f****n too heavy for you to f****n shove on me!”
She was taking the attempt in the worst possible way. She immediately assumed that he was trying to... what, attack her with a filing cabinet? He could have done that better with a pair of scissors, if anything. Javier sighed and tried to lift the cabinet again. He knew he had the strength to do it, he had survived collapsing buildings before... and yet, it was just not happening today.
"Dammit!" he swore, giving up. Go figure. The girl was pissed off, his powers failed, and the while thing was a complete hot mess from here on out. In sheer frustration, and trying not to turn an face Julia again, Javier punched the wall by the cabinet.
There was some brick dust, some concrete chips, and a whole lot of paint flying around. Javier's arm disappeared inside the wall up to his elbow.

Julia was very much on edge as he continued to try. The word moron would be a word Julia would probably use later to describe Javier when her adrenaline was not telling her to just run away. That it was. She wanted to run away, but she so desperately needed this job. She did not have much money left and really wanted to be able to keep jumping from town to town without getting noticed. She couldn’t do that if someone out to get her was confident about his ability to hurt her... even if it was for no valid reason, it was still dangerous for when he had validity in being able to harm Julia. Julia inwardly swore at the thought of this man tainting miles worth of work for her. It made Julia deep( extemely deep) down afraid, afraid of being spoken about, ostracized like she had been in the past.
She couldn’t have that happen and was about ready to just swear up a storm at him, to initmidate him to just keep the measurements and never ever speak of her being a mutant again. Her plan to make him keep the promise was to also to tell him that she will kill him because she will know because of what would be a lie of saying that she had telepathic abilities or something. Julia didn’t know, but lying seemed logical enough given the situation. She had no problems with lying..
In all the craziness of Julia’s thoughts she had been paying attention to Javier sufficiently enough to see him, and no not some magic trick or tool break the wall with his fist. “ You f****n were telling the f****n truth?!” She said in a hostile and shocked sort of way. She still didn’t like people knowing that she was a mutant, even mutants weren’t excluded from her own rules of insecurities. So he wasn’t just going to receive a huge hug as a result nor some happy ‘we’re kin’ reunion type thing. In Julia’s opinion, there was no automatic ‘bond’ or ‘link’ between one mutant and her. That just seemed as stupid as family ties which had hurt her so much in the past and unbeknownst to her, continues to make its impact on how she lived today.
Javier pulled his arm out of the wall. He was not hurt - he usually wasn't - but his hand and shirt sleeve were covered in brick dust. It suddenly dawned on him that he had done damage to the building. If anyone found out, he would lose the job for sure, but even worse, he would be shamed for being out of control, and maybe even mutants in general would get more bad press because of his mistake. Flushing red in shame, he looked up.
>>“ You f****n were telling the f****n truth?!”
The girl was shocked. He would have been shocked too. Scared too, probably. Javier, in his first moment of panic, simply lifted the metal filing cabinet (the one he previously failed to move), and placed it in front of the hole in the wall.

Julia no longer knew what to think of this man. Clearly he was more of a threat to himself than her at this point. Or well that’s what Julia actually wanted to believe because a part of her did want to let her guard down for a few minutes. She wanted to let her guard down so she can help him fix this up so he and even so she or they both don’t get in trouble, instead of just further escalating the situation.
“ You f****n probably need to do something f****n more than that if you f****n don’t want to f****n be caught.” She said, trying to not be aggressive but she was still a bit on edge. She was trying to be helpful, but she hasn’t ‘practiced’ being helpful or trying to be helpful in awhile. So suffice to say, it could appropriately be construed as her just being a jerk. She even kept her arms crossed, but that was more in a defensive uncomfortable way even if it looked like she was still just p*ssed off.
The cabinet covered up the hole, but it was definitely a temporary measure. Someone was going to notice it had been moved, and maybe discover the hole, and then someone was going to be asking questions. Javier felr adrenaline rush through his system as he looked at the girl.
>>“ You f****n probably need to do something f****n more than that if you f****n don’t want to f****n be caught.”
"I don't..." he gasped, not sure what to do, or what to tell her. He could not even guess what she was going to do next. Tell on him? This was her chance. "I don't usually do that..."

Julia honestly didn’t know many people that acted as ignorant as she did. Javier however was making her feel like even she could be a teacher and that wasn’t her profession. “ It doesn’t f****n matter if you f****n don’t ‘usually do that’ any person is f****n going to f****n realize that that cabinet is f****n not supposed to be f****n there. You better f****n do something more than that” she said, mocking his own words but just appearing hostile with the rest. However she was trying to help per se.
“Use my f****n clothes’ sizes or ones one step down, and we can f****n fix this with f****n supplies from a hardware f****n place down the street” she said. The sizes would no matter what still be loose fitting, so Julia would technically still ‘win’ in this make believe debate. Her words after the sizes had more meaning however since they contained an offer to help him fix something that was purely in Julia’s mind, only Javier’s fault, and could only possibly hurt Javier in his future. It didn’t matter if her way of thinking was right or wrong, it was a glimpse into Julia’s ability to be selfless even if it still was rooted in ignorance and vulgarity.
>>“ It doesn’t f****n matter if you f****n don’t ‘usually do that’ any person is f****n going to f****n realize that that cabinet is f****n not supposed to be f****n there. You better f****n do something more than that”
The vulgarity was beginning to fray Javier's already frayed nerves even more. She was right, and definitely telling the truth, and had not started yelling for security yet, but that did not mean he was feeling any less anxious. Now that there was a hole in the wall, Javier doubted he could put another one in any time soon.
>>“Use my f****n clothes’ sizes or ones one step down, and we can f****n fix this with f****n supplies from a hardware f****n place down the street”
He gave up on the clothes. He had proven that he was a mutant, and she still had her own ideas about them, and that was not the biggest problem anymore. Javier sighed, and jotted down the numbers she'd given him on his own notepad, then got up and picked up his things. She'd said we. Between the *****s. Did that mean she was helping?
"Maybe we could... say I'd be back to do some re-measuring?..."

Julia saw him write her sizes of her clothes down and was instantly less tense than she had been before. Even if it was still way more tense than the average person, she was just happy that she had ‘won.’ To her that was all that mattered. She won even if it wasn’t a conventional way of winning. She was still more content even if it came at the expense of the man in front of her having made her ‘win’ when he had put himself at risk to make her feel more comfortable.
Then the bit of relief was destroyed when he mentioned coming back for measurements. Luckily for Javier, she didn’t react right away but realized he was just looking for reassurance on how to leave and come back without being noticed. “ You have no f****n real life experience” she said blandly. Of course it was up for debate if Julia herself even had any normal ‘real life experience’ but to Julia her experience was the only thing that mattered.
“Yes, f****n call them and f****n tell f****n tell them that this f****n stuff you f****n do, is going to f****n take f****n take longer than you f****n expected” she said waiting for him to call before they get more supplies to fix it up. This was a bad mix. Julia being one of the biggest hot heads and her being with Javier who was the most passive person she has ever met, as a result was probably making the day ten times longer than it had to be with the added swear words ‘required’ of Julia alone.
"Not really, no" Javier admitted, a little defeated. He never boasted about his street smarts, and he was not sure how to lie plausibly about destroying a wall.
>>“Yes, f****n call them and f****n tell f****n tell them that this f****n stuff you f****n do, is going to f****n take f****n take longer than you f****n expected”
The expletives were becoming a little... excessive. Javier's shoulders sank even more. She was still very hostile, even when she was trying to help, and his anxiety was having a hard time handling it when he was already blaming himself.
"I can't tell if you are being sarcastic" he muttered. It was the truth. Sarcasm was hard to navigate, especially when people were throwing in all the ****s. "I'll just tell them that... I'll be right back."

Julia heard him and the exact words being muttered, but she decided to be merciful for once. She didn’t want to be causing the guy a heart attack, it was just a force of habit and of a partial need to make people fear her. It was always easier than allowing people to make the decision to fear her. It always seemed simpler to give them no other option but to fear her, it didn’t mean that she enjoyed people fearing her.
“ Okay” was her response to his statement as she held back more explicatives being shot at Javier’s direction. She decided to wait for him to call or do what he needed to do before they left. She stood there without shooting angry looks at him, but she stayed standoffish in her demeanor.
There were no more obscenities for the time being, so Javier hesitantly collected his stuff, and tried to look like he did not just damage a wall and then move a filing cabinet to mask it. With a last desperate glance at Julia, he took a deep breath, and marched back to the front office, trying to look nonchalant.
"I'll have to go and... get some more stuff so I can do correct measuring... um...for the... type of outfit you wanted. I'll be back soon!... I'm sorry for the inconvenience."
The sooner he was out of the place, the better. And then he had to figure out where to get... whatever one needed to fix a wall.
