The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Lee's words made him feel better. Maybe it was because she was his girlfriend. Maybe it was because she knew exactly how tough a fight with someone like him could be. But regardless of the reason, it had helped.
And then, he was sitting on the side of the tub with a hand full of glass and a bathroom floor spotted with blood. He didn't even notice Lee was there until she spoke. When he did notice her, he jumped a little; she was right next to him, hugging him. Her head on his shoulder. He breathed deeply, trying to compose himself.
"Yeah...I mean....I sure hope so. Right now...I'm not so sure..." he sighed, his face flushing a deep red. "I...I know something's wrong with me now...I just punched....I mean I thought it was...and for a brief second....I'm sure it was...." He was making no sense. He knew he was making no sense. Nothing about this made sense.
But here he was, and Lee was right. They were going to make it through this. They didn't have a choice.
Blaine jumped a bit when he heard her speaking. Not very surprising, he was definitely distracted more than a little bit. But despite the fact that he jumped, Lee kept her arms around him, holding him tightly to her.
And his words were stammered, not sure that things were going to be alright. Lee finally pulled back from the hug slightly, placing both of her hands on his cheeks as she looked into his eyes. ”Do you remember when I told you my life has been f***ed up?” Lee asked. ”That’s how I know things are going to be alright and that we’ll get through this. Yes, things are screwed up, and you don’t know what to do, but we’ll figure it out.”
Looking into Blaine’s eyes for another moment after she finished, Lee leaned in to give him a quick kiss. Only then did Lee drop her eyes and hands down to Blaine’s injured hand. It was still bleeding a bit, and Lee was sure there were some glints of glass to be seen. ”Come on, let's her this cleaned up,” Lee said softly as she got back to her feet, tugging on Blaine's hand gently.
Lee then led him over to the sink, pushing the mirrored sir of the medicine cabinet open so he couldn't see it before turning on the water. Seeing the water to a good temperature, not too hot and not too cold, Lee placed Blaine's hand under the stream before she started routing around the cabinet for gauze and a pair of tweezers.
He looked deep into her eyes, feeling weak and helpless. Like a lost puppy, or a wounded animal or something. Then again....wasn't that what he was? He was a beast, a machine. Near unstoppable. But now...he was knocked clean off of his pedestal and it was a long way to the bottom. So when he metaphorically hit...he hit hard.
"I know they will be, but I'm not right now," he said, his voice still shaking but a little firmer. Then she kissed him, and that somehow always made him feel better. Quietly, he nodded as she led him to the sink, and he stared blankly into the water as she doctored him up. He watched as his hand was submerged in water, but he couldn't even bring himself to look at the medicine cabinet. He couldn't believe he'd been so stupid.
He'd known that was the guy Lee warned him about, yet he made the challenge anyway. And Blaine learned first-hand that he was nowhere near unstoppable. He'd built up a pretty big name for himself, and you know what they say about size in relation to falling...
Lee swallowed hard and nodded when Blaine told her that in no uncertain terms that he wasn’t ok right then. ”I know that, hon,” Lee said softly as she led him the short distance to the sink. ”But I’m here, and I’m not going anywhere.”
After some of the blood had been washed away, Lee took another look at Blaine’s hand, and sure enough she saw some glints of glass in the cuts. So she grabbed a pair of tweezers from the cupboard in front of them to pull the pieces out. And though he couldn’t actually feel it, Lee worked as gently as she could.
Finally, Lee was as sure as she could be that she had gotten all of the glass out, and she looked up at Blaine. ”What do you think about dinner and a movie at my place tonight?” Lee asked after a moment before turning back to the medicine cabinet for antiseptic and bandages.
”Kevin’s over at his father’s, so we just have to tell Rachel to take a hike to be alone,” Lee continued as she returned to working on Blaine’s hand.
Knowing that she wasn't going anywhere made him feel better. Though he hated to admit it, Blaine was going to need all the help he could get to make it through this. He watched her doctor up his hand--but he still couldn't believe he did that. How could he have been such a freaking idiot? He knew the guy couldn't be here, and yet...in his mind....the guy was everywhere. Around every corner. Waiting to finish him off.
"That could help, actually. Let Skye know she's got the place to herself...I just..." he sighed, shaking his head for a moment. "I don't want to be alone for awhile, I think," he said, still only slightly shaking.
He took a few deep breaths as she worked on him. His focus was steadily coming back, albeit more slowly than he liked. Maybe he was going to be okay after all. But he also knew it would likely take awhile. Then again...the city was big. What were the odds of running into this guy again, right?
At least Blaine seemed to be shaking less at this point. That was good. It was a start, at least. And Blaine’s brain was working well enough to let him think about letting Skye know he wouldn’t be around.
Lee nodded. This was a good sign, she knew, though, she also knew that she may not see the full effect of what happened, the full reaction, for days. ”Of course. I’ll send her a message in a bit,” Lee said as she finished bandaging up Blaine’s hand. Then she looked up at Blaine’s face again. He hadn’t really gotten much cleaned up before he’d punched the mirror, had he?
Grabbing a nearby cloth, Lee got it wet then moved on to wiping some of the blood off of Blaine’s face gently. ”And that’s good,” Lee said softly after a few more moments. ”Because I don’t think I would let you be alone right now. So you’re stuck with me, I’d say.”
He sat still as Lee continued to clean him up; he was glad to have someone like her around. He could only imagine how this would have ended if he was still alone in the world, and none of his imagined outcomes were the slightest bit good. Hell, he couldn't even see how he was going to recover from this now...
But he knew he would.
"Thanks. I'm glad I have you," he said quietly, leaning in to kiss her softly. He was already starting to calm for now. He wasn't nearly as okay as he was when he woke up this morning, but he knew that with Lee by his side, he'd be okay eventually.
When Blaine leaned down to kiss her, Lee returned it, lifting both hands to place them lightly on his cheeks. And when he pulled back, Lee had a small smile on her face. ”I could say the same,” she replied, just gazing at him for a moment. He did look better now than he had at the clinic, and Lee was glad for that. But at the same time, with how she had first found him, Lee knew that there was more of a reaction to come and she would need to be on watch for that.
Letting her empty hand drop again, Lee continued wiping the dried blood off of Blaine’s face. After a few more minutes, she tossed the cloth into the garbage can. ”That’s probably about the best I can do without you actually having a shower,” Lee told him. ”Why don’t you get changed, then we can grab stuff to bring to my place.”
He loved being this close to her; in fact, her being here was what kept him together like he had been. But he knew he wasn't out of the woods yet. His mind was still buzzing, and though it killed his pride even more than it had been...he needed help. More importantly, he needed her. He'd never been dependent on anyone, but here he was, and...he was still thankful for her. Her strength, her sweetness, her experience.
He knew she'd been through some shit, and she was willing to wade through more just to be with him. He nodded, smiling softly as he stood up and made his way to the bedroom, stripping down completely and throwing on a pair of black jeans and another too-small muscle shirt before tossing on his socks and gym shoes.
Then, he went back to Lee. "Alright. We can go when you're ready. Thanks again, Hun. I really do appreciate you." He smiled, looking at her stomach. "And the little one, too."
Blaine actually smiled before leaving the bathroom. That was a relief, but at the same time very surprising, she wouldn’t have expected to see a smile on his face so soon. Lee only hoped that meant things in Blaine’s mind were better than she thought, hoped that he wasn’t worse than she feared.
Slowly, Lee followed Blaine out of the bathroom, grabbing Blaine’s gym bag on her way. The slight detour meant that by the time she made it into his bedroom, he was already undressed and grabbing a change of clothes to put on. As Blaine got dressed, Lee kept one eye on him as she dumped out his gym bag before packing extra clothing for Blaine. Lee was pretty sure she knew what was coming in the following days, so she planned to be prepared, so she wouldn’t have to come back here to simply get clothing that she should have known to have already grabbed.
Hearing Blaine speak, Lee looked up as she zipped the bag closed. ”I’m ready whenever you are,” Lee said. Then she blushed slightly as she heard the rest of his words. Stepping forward, Lee stretched up to kiss Blaine softly. Then she grabbed his hand. ”Come on, let’s go.”
Blaine was recovering on the outside, smiling more, acting more like himself. But on the inside, his mind and emotions were still clouded, even though he was able to stave that off for now, who knew when it might flare back up again? And she couldn't stay by his side all the time, could she?
She grabbed his bag, and even began packing extra clothes. Good, she was planning ahead; he wasn't exactly cut out for that right now. He nodded, then kissed her back, taking her hand with exactly the same grip that he always had. There were some ways the other guy really damaged Blaine, but Blaine had someone who could put him back together.
Leading her out of the apartment, he locked the door behind them, sort of leaning into her.
