The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Emma stood there and watched as the dog not far in front of her slowly shifted into a tall, stark naked gargoyle like man. Emma didn't have time to contemplate running away before she saw the lady whose power she had copied suddenly walking up to them.
"Great.", Emma thought, "I was hoping she had gone back to sleep. I didn't think she's stay awake and watch my every move. Let's hope she doesn't decide to claw my face off or whap me with her tail." Emma was slightly paralyzed. She couldn't get her legs to move and steer her away. "So you're not really a dog or were you?", Emma asked.
Emma really wanted to leave, but she struggled. She wanted to know if her mutation had changed to include animals. Maybe she could find out later. This was a mistake. She needed to leave. Why had she thought that was a good thing to do? "I'm sorry.", Emma said as she started to leave. "I'm so stupid. I should've never done that. There's too many people around and both of them are probably pissed. Please don't come after me.", she mumbled to herself as she was walking away.
Emma hated having her mutation sometimes. She loved it cuz it could be helpful in defending herself at times when needed or if she needed to help someone. Sometimes people actually kind of loved it, but then there were times like now when she had to try work out if something new happened and she would have to pass a mutation on to someone to test it, of sorts. That had been a really nice dog and he hadn't done anything to her. Emma was slightly conflicted and it was times like these where she tried to keep her mutation to herself.

Jay's eyes were wide, and his hands were shaking as his tail twitched nervously. Then there was a gargoyle woman approaching him as well as the creeper lady. What the ever-holy hell was going on here? He just hoped it wasn't mating season or some **** like that.
"N-No...I'm not usually like this," he said to the gargoyle, trying to be polite, despite the obvious quivering in his voice. Then, he turned to the other woman, his voice a little less friendly.
"Do I look like I was really a ****ing dog?!? I'm a shifter. YOU did something to me...forced me out of shift...then turned me into..." he looked back at the gargoyle again. "What am I, exactly?" Then he felt the sudden breeze...
Naked. That's what he was. Butt-ass naked.
Turning, he bent over and grabbed his bag, reaching for just the boxers and pants. He figured the shirt wasn't going to work out with the wings...and what about the tail...? He thought a moment, then got an idea. It took some time, and a lot of work, but he put his boxers and his jeans on backwards, getting the tail to go through the fly. It wasn't the least bit comfortable, but it was better than nothing.

Gina's gaze wandered southernly on her male doppelganger, and a sudden, violent blush shot into her face, and she clapped her hand over her eyes. Sure, she'd seen naked guys before, as any sexually-active young adult would have... but she didn't know this dude. She didn't want to see his junk. Even if he did make a pretty handsome gargoyle...
Gina got the sense that the guy was talking to her, so she hastily answered, "A gargoyle, I'm a gargoyle."
She heard rustling, lifted her hand, and saw the guy wriggling into a pair of boxers, and then jeans. The flush, however, did not leave her cheeks. The culprit, however-- Ms. "Randomly-Manhandles-Strangers"-- was trying to make a hasty escape.
"Hey, wait a second!" Gina interrupted, remembering her voice, "Lady, lady, you can't go randomly grabbing people and then just leaving. Can't you turn him back?"
The issue was no longer that she'd randomly touched Gina, although that was still pretty creepy... the new issue was that she'd made some guy look like Gina, and the dude was currently wearing his pants backwards. He looked like a doofus. An inconvenienced doofus.

Emma turned around when the gargoyle lady had discovered her trying to walk off. Emma heard her asking about turning him back. She shook her head and walked back to where they were. Emma hadn't quite worked everything out with her power. She didn't know of a way to turn him back. This is why she was confused earlier when her hands tingled near the dog. She hadn't fully figure everything out and was still trying to learn and explore it all.
"I don't know how to turn him back. I'm still trying to understand how this power thing works. I don't think it's permanent though. Well, I hope it's not. I'm sorry.", Emma said sadly and apologetically. She hung her head, pretty ashamed of herself. She was really starting to feel the repercussions of her power and not just the high of copying and collecting ones. She had thought she was so slick and sneaky about ways to get powers, but she never really stayed around to see how things went after they got passed on.
Emma hoped that they wouldn't hurt her and would be understanding. But she stood still, not knowing what would happen next. She grew nervous and really just wanted to run away. She didn't wanna have to fight or hurt anybody, but she wasn't gonna just let them beat her up. She had to try and defend herself if she could.
She raised her head slightly, trying to gauge what they were about to do. And to see just how pissed off ahe had made them.

Jay folded his arms across his chest, completely of the wings jutting out of his back, and his tail twitching uncomfortably through the fly of his pants as he tried to make sense of all of this.
"A gargoyle, huh?" he said as he looked behind him at his wings and his tail, really taking this all in. "Cool. But how did this end up happening to me? I mean, I'm a canine shifter...well, usually. It's not working right now..."
Whatever was going on here, he was sure Creeper-Lady had something to do with this. Speaking of which, she was trying to get away, but the real gargoyle had stopped her, and she...didn't know how to turn him back. Great.
"Wait, so you mean to tell me you do this to people all willy-nilly, and don't even know how to change them back? Or even whether or not it's permanent?!?" He flustered a bit as he spoke.
But then, he took a deep breath and turned back to the gargoyle. "Uh....you don't think you can help me get used to this, can you? I mean, if it isn't any trouble. I've grown used to my power, and I'm not sure how to grow accustomed to a new one..."
He glowered at Creeper-Lady. She was lucky she's hot...

The gargoyle released tension from her shoulders-- which, until she released it, she hadn't been aware she'd been carrying. Good, it was temporary.
"Any idea of... how temporary this is?" Gina pressed-on, the indignance gone from her tone. Her voice was, in fact, pretty flat as she addressed the woman. No point getting butthurt about something that wouldn't last... but if the guy was going to be stuck as a gargoyle for a few days, Gina could at least offer him a shirt or two. Maybe a pair of shorts, so he wouldn't have to walk around with his pants on backwards.
Gina shrugged at the dude, "I mean, I can offer you some clothes, if this is... gonna last you a while. I did my own alterations, but like... we'd have to drop by my place? It took me a few years to learn to fly, so I wouldn't... go jumping off buildings. You might also want some shades? I'm super light-sensitive, you'll get a nasty migraine if you don't get that in-check."
Thankfully for the guy, and perhaps the gal, Gina's primary focus was making sure the guy that'd copied her power was taken-care of, which didn't really leave a lot of room for simmering annoyance. Explaining to Nessa that she'd found someone to help would be fun, especially since they were the blonde, male duplicate of Gina.
Dude seemed to be stressing about his new appearance, though, so Gina would break down the necessities in easy-to-understand chunks.

Emma replied, "I'm not sure. I'm still trying to understand how my power works and all the mechanics of it. If I could have figured it all out by myself without having to use it on someone else, I would have by now. But that's not how it works." Emma hung her head and apologized again. After a few moments as the other two exchanged conversation, Emma then said, "Well, I guess this way I can stick around and learn about any constraints my power may have. So you are kinda helping me in a way."
Emma kinda just stood there with them, wondering what they were going to do next. The gargoyle lady was trying to tell the usual canine shifter about being light sensitive and needing sunglasses to keep from having a migraine. Emma piped up, "If you don't have sunglasses, I think I have some with me in my bag. You can use them if you'd like. I don't know what else I can do to help, but I'll try and do what I can."
Emma dug around in her bag for a moment and brought out her pair of sunglasses. They were slightly feminine shaped, but not overly girly. She offered them to the newly garoyled man and hoped that he would accept her help and not hold hurt feelings toward her.
