The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

When she heard those few short, quiet words from Jason, Lee felt her stomach do a little flip. It was kind of weird, normally something like that being said would have had Lee running. But hearing Jason say it, a happy little smile slowly grew on her face.
But Jason want getting up to get her slice of cheesecake. How could he do that, tempt her with cheesecake and then not bring her any? Lee was just about to get up and get her own, a bit annoyed with Jason if she were being honest, when she saw him holding his fork out with a bite of cake on it.
Instantly, the annoyance fell away, one side of her mouth turning up in a smile as she leaned forward. And get eyes slid closed as she treated it. ”MMM, for store bought, this is pretty good,” she finally said after she had swallowed.

"Yeah, it's better than any I could have made," he said with a smile. "I didn't think you were done eating yet, which is why I didn't grab you any. Can't tempt you with dessert when you aren't done with the entree~" he said with a wink. Then, he set his fork down, gave her a kiss on the cheek, and stood to his feet.
He walked back around the counter, putting a piece on a plate for her, but in his other hand, he grabbed the whole platter of cheesecake. The plate, he sat in front of her, and he set the platter between them before reclaiming his seat next to her and grabbed another slice.
”Why can't you?” Lee asked innocently. ”I mean what's the problem with having dessert first?”
But by this point Jason had gotten up again and was heading back to the kitchen to get her a slice of cake. And while she was waiting, Lee picked Jason's fork and took another bite of his cheesecake.
Only once Jason was sitting down again did Lee reluctantly return his fork so that she could take a bite of her own slice. ”You know, I think yours tastes better.”

He smirked. "We still talking about food?" he joked, winking as he took another bite. He shook his head lightly at her words. "It always tastes better when it belongs to somebody else, doesn't it?" he said with a smile, adding another wink.
After a few moments, he finished his cheesecake, and pushed his plate back, finishing his beer. "Alright...I'm done," he said, leaning back on the stool slightly, just enough to relax. After a moment, he stood up, rummaging through the counters and packing up the alfredo and stuffing it in the fridge before grabbing another beer.
He popped it open, then sat next to Lee again. "So what do you think of your first date?"
When Jason asked if they were still talking about food, Lee simply shrugged with a bit of a smile. Well, she had been, but that didn't have to be the only thing she was talking about.
But as Jason continued, Lee nodded and glanced down at his plate. Which was almost empty. So Lee quickly reached her fork out and snagged another bite of Jason’s cake. ”You’re right,” she agreed with a grin after eating the stolen cake. ”It does taste better when it’s someone else’s.”
As Jason got up to put his plate away, Lee really dug into her own cake so that it was almost finished by the time Jason sat back down beside her with a second bottle of beer. And then he asked what she thought of her first date, and Lee smiled over at him, though there may have been a slight blush present as well. ”It’s been really nice,” she told him.
Taking a sip of her largely neglected beer, Lee just sat with a slight smile on her face before looking over at Jason again. ”Did you have anything else planned for the evening?” She asked, truly curious about what he thought should happen on a date.

He chuckled at her stealing his cheesecake; it was so much more...playful than he'd seen her the other times she'd come over. He had to admit he liked this side of her. It was adorable, to be honest. Then, he smiled, seeing the blush come across her face. That was something else he was enjoying. They were both in uncharted territory, but he was thinking he could get used to this in no time.
"Honestly, I had the dinner planned, but I didn't really get beyond that. I sort of put all my eggs in this basket, so to speak. So...I'm at a loss." He gave a slight shrug, the twinkle in his eyes saying he did have one idea...
Lee nodded when Jason said that he’d been focused on simply the dinner part of the evening. ”It was a pretty good dinner,” Lee told Jason with a smile.
But then she tilted her head at him, smiling as she saw the look in his eyes. When she spoke, though, her tone was innocent curiosity. ”I don’t have to go to work tonight, though. So what are we going to do with the rest of the evening?”

"Only pretty good?" he teased, faking a pout as he spoke, but that didn't last long as his smile began to break through the charade. He knew what she meant.
And then, her innocent voice made him smile again, though he wasn't sure how serious she was about that; after all, they were only just getting to know each other outside of...certain extracurricular...though that may not have been out of the question tonight, either. But, he smiled a little mischievously at her question, then gave a shrug as his face faded to something more deadpan.
"I don't know. I mean I've got a checker board over there if you're interested," he said with a feigned innocence, himself. He wondered how she was going to react, or if this was just going to keep on until somebody finally cracked.
Lee couldn’t help but smile at the mischievous look Jason got on his face at her question about what to do for the rest of the night. But then that look faded away, and he mentioned something about checkers.
Lee frowned. ”Really?” She asked, raising an eyebrow. ”That’s the best you’ve got? Cause I’m more of a chess girl. But I guess if all you have is checkers, we’ll have to make due.”

He chuckled, shaking his head with a laugh. "No, not really!" he said as he flashed a grin. Then, he leaned in, his feet planted on the floor as he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her in for a kiss. It was more passionate than most of the others, but it wasn't forceful, and there was still a level of tenderness to it.
After a moment, he pulled back. "That's closer to the idea I had..." he murmured. Okay, he'd cracked first. But it was worth it.
Lee grinned and laughed slightly when Jason brock and admitted that checkers wasn’t really what he was thinking for the rest of the night. That was good, Lee hadn’t dressed like this to play checkers, after all.
But then Jason moved, leaning closer to her, and Lee grinned as she set her beer back down on the counter. Just in time for him to wrap his arms around her and kiss her. Smiling into the kiss, Lee raised her arms to wrap around Jason’s neck as she felt her heart starting to beat faster.
When Jason pulled back, Lee slowly opened her eyes to look at him, her smile widening as she heard Jason’s words. ”I think I like this idea better,” Lee said, tightening her arms around Jason’s neck again to pull them closer for another kiss.

"You know checkers doesn't remotely compare to you, right?" he murmured after pulling away from the kiss, but just enough so their lips were barely separated.
And then, she'd kissed him again, and his arms ran up and down her back gently, one of them moving up to tangle in her hair as it usually did. His eyes closed as his breath sharpened and his heart pounded in his chest. She was really the only one who got this kind of reaction out of him.
When Jason pulled back to speak, Lee could feel his breath on her lips he was still so close. ”I should hope not,” Lee breathed in reply even as their lips were pressing against each other again.
As she felt Jason’s hands running up her back, his fingers slipping onto her bare skin as they reached the top of her dress, Lee shivered in his arms. And then she felt his hand in her hair. Her breath caught in her throat, only to be let out in a moan against Jason’s lips as she moved her own hands down his back so she could pull his shirt up. It was only fair if she was able to explore some exposed skin as well.

The breath on his lips, the hands on his back...it made several small chills run up his spine. He had no idea why she did this to him, but he had to admit...he wasn't about to argue with it. As they kissed, he stood from the stool without remotely breaking the kiss. And then, he felt her hands on his back.
Pulling back only just enough, he pulled his shirt over his head, letting it drop to the floor. Then, with a smile, he leaned in and kissed her again.
When she felt Jason pull back from the kiss again, Lee opened her eyes to see that he was now standing beside her rather than sitting. And he was pulling his shirt up over his head, dropping it...somewhere.
Grinning, Lee turned in her seat so that she was fully facing Jason. But even though he was already leaning in toward her again, he was taking too long in Lee’s mind. Reaching one hand out, she grabbed Jason’s belt, pulling him close to her, as her other hand wrapped around him, her head turning up to kiss him as he leaned down.
And as they continued to kiss, the hand that was around Jason’s back clung to him. Lee’s other hand, however, may have been working on blindly undoing his belt.
