The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Well I'm glad I got the chance to prove myself," he said with a sly wink as he juggled eating breakfast with looking her over. He still wondered how he'd gotten so lucky, but at this point, he didn't question it. After all, it happened, and it was amazing, though there was something different about her. They seemed to have more of a connection than he usually felt with people--then again that wasn't hard to do, but...it was still nothing to sneeze at.
Then she traced his tattoo, and asked about it, and he smiled. "I like wolves. They're strong, pack oriented, and excellent fighters and hunters. While I....am none of those," he said with a slight chuckle. "And yet, I admire them."
Seeing Jason's wink, Lee grinned over at him. ”Oh, you more than proved yourself,” Lee told him. And he had; she never would have stayed even until the sun had come up, never mind put his shirt on and stay for breakfast.
Lee laughed slightly along with Jason. ”I don't know, maybe you want to be more like them?” Lee suggested with a shrug. ”Or maybe you just wanted a damn good tattoo?”

"I proved I can keep up with you, anyway," he teased lightly as he finished his breakfast, then downed the rest of his coffee.
"Maybe a mix of both, I always kind of admired them," he said, though it was only a half-truth. Really, he was quite drawn to all canines for reasons he had yet to reveal, and wolves just seemed to make for a better tattoo. Every now and then he'd steal another glance at her; honestly, he loved seeing her in his shirt like that. Part of him hoped that maybe he'd see more of that, but there was this feeling in his gut that he'd be just another notch in her belt, and her in his.
And he didn't know if he was okay with that.
After a moment, he excused himself, disappearing to the bathroom, but stealthily grabbing a pen and one of his business cards off of his desk while he was in there. After a few moments, he flushed and left, the card and pen now tucked neatly in his pants pocket. Sure, he was grasping at straws, but she was bound to leave soon, and this was his only plausible idea to have a chance at seeing her again--at least without coming right out and asking her and making it weird.
As Jason spoke, Lee couldn’t help but smile as she looked down at her coffee. He had done a pretty good job keeping up with her the previous night, which was an accomplishment considering the time she had spent at the bar, and then the time they had been touching. Anyone keeping up with her when she had that kind of energy was impressive.
Then Lee nodded as Jason said that maybe his choice had been a bit of both.
When Jason excused himself, Lee waited just long enough for the bathroom door to close before she stood up. And made her way into the kitchen to refill her mug. She knew that this was the perfect time for her to leave, Jason was out of the room, she could have easily gotten dressed and left without having any awkward goodbyes. Instead, Lee stood there leaning against the counter in Jason’s shirt sipping her coffee.

When he reemerged, he breathed a quiet sigh of relief to see her still in the kitchen, and wearing his shirt. He knew she could have gotten out of there in a hurry if she wanted to. But she stayed. Maybe she really was special. Maybe...maybe she'd be different. At least, he was starting to hope so, anyway, but...that always led to heartbreak. Then again, maybe he was a hopeless romantic. Or maybe he was simply hopeless.
Flashing her a smile, he walked around the counter into the kitchen like he was heading to the coffee pot, but instead he stopped short, wrapping his arms around her waist and planting a light kiss on her neck. If this was going to be their only encounter, he'd at least make what he could of it. Granted...once she left, he was probably going to spend the whole day asleep. Though he didn't admit it, she'd taken quite the toll on him.
Lee heard the bathroom door open, and saw Jason walking back toward the kitchen. As he passed where she was leaning on the counter, she returned the smile, but otherwise, she didn’t move. Well, except for taking another sip of her coffee. Not that she needed to turn; Lee could sense Jason’s movements, knew where he was as he got closer to her.
And knew that he was walking closer to her. Though she didn’t turn her head at all, didn’t look where he was, Lee wasn’t surprised when he wrapped his arms around her; she had been able to feel him literally right behind her. What did surprise Lee was when he kissed her on the neck. Even with how the rest of the night, and now morning, had gone, the soft, tender kiss on her neck was surprising. And at the same time caused her to shiver slightly.
Lee closed her eyes for just a moment. She should have left before he had reemerged. But since she hadn’t, she may as well take advantage of it, right? Setting her mug down on the counter, Lee turned in Jason’s arms and looked up at him a moment before circling her arms around his neck and stretched up for a kiss.
