The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Character's real name: Ted Thorn Codename/Alias: He hasn't chosen one for himself yet
Gender: Male Age: 18 Nationality/Ethnicity: British Birthplace: Cambridge Personality: Quite, he keeps himself to himself. He likes to help others where he can, and expects nothing in return. He is intellectual, having been one of the best students at Cambridge University. After his time spent on the streets, he will often peer over his shoulder and appear to feel unsafe, due to him still being a wanted fugitive. Notes (Hobbies, Phobias, Worries, etc.): He's scared that his powers will cause him to seriously harm/kill someone. Again.
Allegiance (Good, Bad, or Neutral): Good
Everyday clothing: He likes to wear a three-quarter-length leather jacket, and jeans and a t-shirt underneath. He also likes to wear a wide-brim hat that cloaks his face in shadow. Uniform (Optional. Required if eventually becoming part of the X-Men): Leather jacket with traditional X on it. Blue T-shirt and trousers (also with an X on each) Pajamas: Just a pair of pin-striped pajama bottoms.
Hair color and style: Dark and scraggly, it's cut at the front so that it hangs just above his eyes thus not being a nuisance. Eye color: Grey Height: 6'3" Build: Appears scrawny, but has surprising strength. Most underestimate his strength and agility based on his build.
Scars: A few from gunshot wounds after his running from the police, mainly on his chest and back though there is one in his shoulder where a shot just missed his neck. Tattoos: None Piercings: None
Description of ability(ies): When subjected to more than minor pain (i.e. being stabbed as opposed to stubbing his toe) he transforms. When he transforms, he becomes a beast that has short, brown fur and vicious fangs and claws. Noone is quite sure of the species, only that it is something different from any known animal. Not only does his body transform, his mind does too. his consciousness is locked away, so that only someone like Xavier has any hope of finding anything other than the beast's uncontrollable hunger and rage. But recently, under the tuition of Professor Xavier, he has learnt to gain control of his beast form by fighting with his instincts for control. His beast-form's strength and speed are unmatched by any non-mutant, and if Ted has not gained control, it will happily eat its "prey". Thus, he tries to avoid situations where he could be seriously injured (i.e. contact sports, getting into fights etc). When in beast-form, his healing rate is also increased, and once whatever wound that was causing the pain is healed (i.e. he is no longer in pain) he changes back. He will also change back if he is knocked unconscious. When in human form, he has heightened strength and agility and his senses of smell and hearing are also better than all non-mutants. He also has a heightened metabolism that is similar to a wolf's or a bear's, so he can eat large amounts of meat without much trouble. This means that he also doesn't have to worry largely over his diet, as he can happily live off of meat and not suffer from the deficiencies that other people would. Fighting style (if any): Not much to it really, just fangs and claws.
History of your character: Ted was born in Cambridge, and grew up with a peaceful, normal life. He excelled in school, and he had surprising strength and speed for someone of his size and youth (this was the first manifestation of his powers, though noone knew it at the time). He triumphed at school, but when he was 17 he managed to get himself injured during a rugby match. Someone had made a bad tackle, and seemed as if he had dislocated his leg. Ted should have been in agony, but instead he glared at the guy who had tackled him. He teeth began to lengthen, as did his nails and fur began to spread across his body. Someone screamed, and then everybody ran as the creature that Ted had become leapt to his feet. He raced after the boy that had tackled him, totally ignoring the pain in his leg. He caught up to him easily, and lunged. He landed on top of the boy, and dragged him to the ground. He proceeded to bite and tear at the poor guy, and although someone had called the police by the time they arrived Ted had killed the boy and was starting to feast on his flesh. The police attempted to circle him, but he saw the danger and was quick to rush at them. He tore down 2 coppers before the police had hit him with enough tasers to knock him out. He then changed back, and seemed to be sleeping peacefully despite the blood and gore on his shirt and face. The police arrested him and locked him up. Despite many attempts by his parents to convince them otherwise, the police refused to let him go and decided to ship him to America where mutants were more common and they might know what to do with him. He was put aboard a plane, and soon landed at New York Airport. There he was to be taken to a high security holding facility, but whilst he was being taken a group of over-confident pro-mutant activists that had gotten wind of it decided to try and free him, mainly as a publicity stunt. They attacked the armoured car that was transporting him, and he got injured during the fighting. This triggered his transformation for the second time. He was soon roaring and ripping his way through the police, and as they opened fire on him the few shots that hit only insured that the transformation would last all the longer. The beast saw that he was being surrounded, as the not very successful (or competent) activists were rounded up. He made his escape up a nearby building with surprising speed, and was soon lost from sight. He transformed back a good while later, and found himself in a small back alley. He began to look around, and decided that there must be somewhere for him to hide, and probably other mutants too. He remembered reading once about the "Xavier's School for Mutants", and decided that he should check there first. He realized that he had no idea where he was and that he had no possessions, so decided to strike out right away. He made his way through New York, stealing for food when he had to, sleeping where he could. He finally stumbled upon a large mansion (note: this is the second school for mutants which he found by chance) and stumbled up to the main gate.
Sample RP: Ted stole through a quite alleyway. He was hungry, and knew that one of these houses would supply his breakfast. He found a fire escape, and moving stealthily up it. It was as he guessed, the windows on it were all locked. He found something else though; a window ledge that went all the way round the building. He was able to stay on it easily, though any human would have struggled to keep balance. He made his way across, but none of the windows were unlocked. Pity. He picked one that looked like it lead into the kitchen, and shattered it. He was careful not to cut himself on it, as a transformation now would be disastrous. He stepped in, and found that his guess was right. He was in the kitchen, and quickly began to check the cupboard and the fridge for suitable food. He found a loaf of bread and some cereal, and was about to make good his escape when a middle-aged man with a shotgun walked into the doorway. Ted looked up in shock, surprised at the fact that he hadn't heard him and making a mental note to keep his finely attuned ears out in future. The guy had the shotgun pointed at his chest. "Put my food back and get out of my house." "Trust me, you do not want to do that." Ted knew that if a shotgun blast didn't kill him outright, then he would transform, and even with Ted badly wounded the other guy wouldn't stand a chance. "I think I do. Now put the food back and leave before I kill you!" Ted glowered at the man. He wished it hadn't come to this. "Fine. I'm putting the food back." He went to put the cereal down, but just before it hit the table he flung it at the man. He had hoped that this would just distract him long enough so that it would escape, but the man was more jumpy than he thought. He was hit by the blind and panicked shotgun blast as he went through the window, the pain coursing through him as he only thought of two words. Oh, no. He was transformed before he hit the ground. He landed skilfully on his feet, and the beast swiftly made it's way through the city, as approaching police sirens were heard in the distance. He was soon a whisper on the wind.
