The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

She nodded understandingly, “Yeah, all that bull.” She sighed a little and finished off her coffee, “Life’s a b*tch.” She confirmed. It was half way in response to him and half way just her saying it. She nodded as she waited for him to return.
She grinned as she saw the notebook with tons of songs and lyrics on several pages. She flipped through until she found a blank page and ripped a piece of it off. She took the pen and wrote down her number and her name, “So you can call me next time you have a gig. Or you know, whenever you want.” She gave him a small, teasing grin. There it was - she had showed her interest in wanting to continue this. It would be in his court, now.
She thought for a moment, “You’d probably just need a human to sponsor you or whatever they do. Like, the trainers? I guess.” She seemed lost in thought for a moment before grinning widely, “I can get you registered, I’ll be the human trainer stuff. You get all the money but I’ll do the human part stuff.”

He smiled, but this one wasn't the mischievous, catty grin he'd been sporting most of the night. Not that those weren't genuine, but there was something more heartfelt behind this one. He was glad she showed a more lasting interest in him. "I'll make sure to hang onto this, then," he said with a wink. He definitely planned on calling her back, gig or no gig.
And then, out of nowhere, she was helping him with a scheme. Technically there wasn't anything illegal about it, so he would opt not to tell her about his extra-curricular ways of making money. "Actually, that's not a bad idea. I'd just have to find an appropriate greyhound, preferably one that I won't have to race. I mean, it'd be weird if two identical dogs raced, right? Though it's not illegal, I'm pretty sure die-hard race fans would frown upon it, so...best not to draw suspicion." He finished his second cup of coffee, and put the mug in the sink next to him.
"Though, what would you get in return? I can't let ya do it for free, after all."

Zelda felt that he was interested. That made her feel slightly more confident (and less like a fool for giving him her number.) Maybe this would be more than just a one time hook up. She leaned back a little bit, content and happy about the possibilities.
She bit her lip as she thought about it, “Well, I’m sure there is places outside of the city that we can go to. We can act like we’re going to buy one from someone or something.” She shrugged, “Might work in that kind of situation.” She thought carefully how to say the next part, “If they are sick or something, you’re still fine, right?” If the dog was too sick to race, it might make it safer for her and him. If the dog can't race, then no one would ever know. “Oh yeah, I’m sure. We’ll just have to be careful.” She winked.
She shrugged, “I mean, more nights like this wouldn’t be a bad bargain for me.” She grinned as she used her hands to hold her head up, her elbows resting on the counter top.

"I like the way you think," he commented slyly, his genuine grin becoming laced with a more sly, cunning one. "Yeah, I only get the form, so it can't be missing any limbs or anything like that, but if it's sick, I'll be fine. Really though, it's not like we're cheating. You know, I'd still have to be on the top of my game, but I think I can handle it."
He looked her over as she leaned back against the counter. "I wouldn't object to that either, that's for sure," he murmured, his voice almost a purr. He sat at the table, the gears in his brain turning as he thought. "So in the next few days, I guess I'm going dog-shopping. It's been quite some time since I got a new form, so...should be interesting." He propped his head on his hands, looking up at her.

She smiled mischievously towards him. She liked the way he thought too, even if it was more unethical. Maybe they would go through with or maybe not, but it was always fun to conspire. Plus, maybe dog racing would be fun.
She nodded, “Good to know, good to know.” She wished she knew dog breeders and the such, but she really had no idea about them. She didn’t really get involved in that kind of stuff. “I mean, it might be slightly unethical – but why wouldn’t you use your powers for a profession? A mutation that lets you heal people – you’ll probably become a doctor. What’s so wrong with it in this case?” She shrugged.
“I wish I knew of some places, but… Nope. How does it work exactly? You just have to see them?”
She let her eyes lock onto his, since their faces were facing each other and both leaning on the table. She had a small grin on her face as she let her eyes wander around his face.

Heh, little did she know, a lot of what he did could easily be considered unethical, but he didn't think it was the best time to have her finding that out. After all, he liked her and would have liked to see her again.
While she was merely entertaining the idea, Jay was thinking of an actual approach. Sure, it started off as a joke, but now that he was entertaining it, it didn't seem like too crazy an idea. "I have a few friends who may owe me a favor or two, so I can try to pull a few strings. And I just need to spend a few minutes watching and studying a dog to be able to gain its form. So it's at least somewhat intentional. I can't just look at a dog in passing and turn into it. As easy as that would be."
As he leaned forward, their eyes locked, and he had to smile. He didn't know what it was about her, but it was nice that they actually had chemistry.

Zelda kind of felt like a teenager again – scheming about crazy ideas that actually could turn into crazy plans that might actually work fairly well. It was a refreshing feeling – after all, being a boring adult person was kinda lame. It was a nice change of page.
She nodded slowly, “Well, that makes sense. It’s never that easy, right?” She chuckled quietly. As a doctor, she kind of wished she could video tape him changing. It would be remarkable to see how his body handles the transformation. It didn’t cause him pain, which was good, but what did it look like during the switch? Either way, she shook the idea out of her head. That wasn’t her job anymore, after all.
She gave him a teasing grin as their eyes locked. Half of her wanted to just crawl onto the table and pounce him. Would be kinda too soon for climbing furniture though, right? It was nice just looking at him, anyways.

"Yeah, it's never that easy. Besides, I still say I got dealt a better hand than some of the other mutants. I mean, I'm not sure how I would be able to handle something that made life more difficult like...I don't know, being a human-fish thing...or getting a massive migraine after using a mutation...or only being able to shift into inanimate objects...stuff like that." He gave a shrug, getting up to turn off the coffee pot and pour what little bit was left into the sink. Then, he rinsed the pot out, and got the machine ready for in the morning. That way, when he--they?--woke up, all he'd have to do was push one button.
When he finished, he walked over, giving her a kiss on the cheek. "Maybe I just got lucky." Grabbing the notebook, he put it on the living room table, making sure he didn't lose it. Then, he checked the time; it was almost midnight. Man, how time flew. "Hey, you wouldn't mind staying over, would ya? Wouldn't feel right to have you out this late." Yeah, that was it. Well, part of it.

Zelda listened with interest as he explained how he was lucky than some other mutants. She nodded a couple times. “I gotta say… Turning into a dog and only having to study it for a bit definitely sounds better than literally all of that.” She grinned, “I had a friend in college who had antlers and looked kinda of like a deer, except with 2 legs. Killed in the registration camps, it can be extremely rough for some mutations.”
She twirled in the chair as he walked by, secretly enjoying the kiss on the cheek. She crossed her legs as she watched him place the notebook on the living room table. She nodded slowly as he mentioned sleeping over. She grinned and walked over to him, letting her fingers trace up his chest as let her eyes followed them up to his eyes. She leaned towards him, letting her lips dance across his, “I don’t think I mind.” She gave him a wink.

He nodded, visibly wincing at the word 'killed.' Sure, he may not have always been the nicest guy, but he did have some semblance of a heart. "Yeah...it can be rough sometimes. Hate it has to be that way though. At least my mutation showing helped stop my mistreatment..." He let out a sigh, trying to push his emotions back into their cage, deep down.
He found his smile coming back when she was close to him, however, and he loosely wrapped his arms around her. "Good." He winked back, taking her hand and leading her to the bedroom.
