The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Jesse's head was still reeling from the sudden change. She was... out of the mirrors. And she was definitely not going back in. She felt weak, and stunned, and... damn hungry. Mirror was already walking her out of the room, but she felt bad about leaving the kid alone in there. Even if there was a counselor present.
"I'll be back soon, Seven" she waved a hand with a faint smile "You can trust them. They are good people."
Gemma nodded as the mirrorwalkers walked out, and turned back to the task at hand: Making not-Chase feel at least a little more relaxed.
>>“Delta Seven. Seven for short. Delta is my rank.”
He had a number, but no name. And a rank. Delta. Did that mean he was important?
"Is Seven what you'd like to be called? Or would you like another name?" she ventured "I am sorry, I will need to catch up on some things. Can you tell me what the Delta stands for?"
The boy wrapped his arms around his legs as Mirror and Mirage left him. Mirage was the only person here he really trusted, the only one he really wanted to be around. Even though this other Agent Taylor seemed nice enough, it didn't change the fact that he didn't know her. And, now that they were alone, there was no telling what the woman might pull. Perhaps the softness was just a ruse for when there were bystanders. Perhaps she was just biding her time.
>> "Is Seven what you'd like to be called? Or would ou like another name? I am sorry, I will need to catch up on some things. Can you tell me what Delta stands for?"
Seven pried his gaze from the door, and looked ponderously at Ms. Taylor. He didn't trust her, but he could report information to her... it would help him bide his time until Mirage got back. And giving information was an easy enough task. Besides... no one had ever asked him if he "liked" to be call Seven.
"I do not like it," Seven murmured, "But I don't... not like it... it is simply what I am called. Sometimes, when we are outside, I pretend to have other names. 'Seven' is the only name that is mine, though."
Perhaps, at one point, there was another name... he had a blurry memory of someone else in his cell, giving him a name... but he could neither remember that other person, or that other name... so that information was virtually useless.
"People that serve... SUPER... are sorted, based on what they can do," Seven mumbled, "People like you, Ms. Taylor, who makes powers stop, are Kappas. People like me, whose powers you can see, are Deltas."
"There are more rankings than that... but this is my ranking. I am one of many Deltas... but I am the only Delta Seven... that is why I am called Seven."
As he reported this, Seven's stomach yowled in protest. He braced his arms against his gut, and laid down on the floor.
"What is the hour?" he asked Ms. Taylor. He asked because he wanted to know how long he had to wait until breakfast.

The boy did not even have a name. Or if he did, he did not remember. That in itself said a whole lot about SUPER; however useful or necessary they might think themselves, the way they treated a mutant child spoke louder.
>>"I do not like it. But I don't... not like it... it is simply what I am called. Sometimes, when we are outside, I pretend to have other names. 'Seven' is the only name that is mine, though."
Gemma nodded. Seven it was, at least until the boy got comfortable enough to pick another name for himself. Or another gender. Until then, all she could do was try to make sense of the world this other Chase was coming from.
>>"People that serve... SUPER... are sorted, based on what they can do. People like you, Ms. Taylor, who makes powers stop, are Kappas. People like me, whose powers you can see, are Deltas. There are more rankings than that... but this is my ranking. I am one of many Deltas... but I am the only Delta Seven... that is why I am called Seven."
"So... adapted humans are Kappas. And visible mutants are Deltas." Gemma noted, mostly to herself. She was sure the information was going to be useful in the future.
Seven's stomach growled audibly, and the boy lay down on the floor.
>>"What is the hour?"
"It's..." Gemma glanced at her watch "Just past 3am. Are you hungry? I can bring you some food. What would you like to eat?"

"Zero-three-hundred," the child reiterated. That was nowhere close to mealtime. Meals were at zero-seven-hundred, twelve-hundred, and seventeen-hundred hours. He was no stranger to hunger, though. He could tough it out for four hours, or... well, whenever this place served meals.
>> "Are you hungry? I can bring you some food. What would you like to eat?"
Owlishly, Delta Seven surveyed the woman. Was she joking? What was her angle? She could get him food, at this hour? No one would offer him food outside of designated meal-times, unless they wanted something out of him.
"I am hungry," Delta Seven confirmed. That's where his pronouncements, and possible requests, ended. He didn't know food-words very well, beyond "food" and "chocolate". Kappa Five had always been giving him chocolate. He knew that food could be warm, or cold... some had flavor, others did not.
"Do you have warm food?" he asked. If not-Agent-Taylor left, he could have a look around... maybe try to sneak away and hide.

The boy checked the time, and seemed to be a little confused again. Gemma wondered if he was confused about the time, or maybe about something to do with the food. There were a lot of things a kid like him could be confused about.
>>"I am hungry. Do you have warm food?"
"I am sure I can find some" Gemma smiled, happy to be talking about an imminent problem that she could solve "There should be some mac and cheese left from dinner. Maybe some pizza I can put in the oven. Is there anything you... like to eat? Or don't like to eat?"
It was kind of a shot in the dark at this point. But she wanted to make him feel at least a little more comfortable.
