Gwen squirmed in her seat for a little bit longer, debating if she still had time to run away and hide forever. After all, it was a terrifying new experience realizing she was attracted to someone - specifically, another woman. It was confusing, to say the least. Part of it was definitely jealous at the woman for being so darn attractive and so darn teasing. Didn't the woman know she wasn't use to this?
Gwen knew she was probably making a fool of herself. She needed to get her cool together. But she had never been someone to hide her feelings or her expressions. She just let it out there. There was no point in hiding it, right? She sighed as she stared at the blue eyed woman and tried to think about how to reply to her question. Was she on edge? Yeah, she just found out she liked women and it was pretty sudden, too. It was definitely not something she expected when she woke up. Well, there were signs, she supposed, but still.
She licked her lips slowly and took a sip of her coffee, "I am... Fine. I think. What kind of places will you show me?" She asked weakly, attempting to be flirty back.
Agnes was indeed enjoying herself teasing the sweet brunette. She was inexperienced and seemingly unsure of how to react to the brunette. Maybe she had just come out of the closet or was just discovering that she was in one, but whatever the case, Agnes was more than happy to help lead her out of those dark confines and into the light. Again, Gwen wasn’t exactly shooing her away so that was all the permission she needed to pursue. Besides, some gentle coaxing was seeming to bring Gwen into the right mood.
Some more honeyed words and innuendo and Agnes tilted her head, smiling sweetly to the brunette. Another sip of her drink and she pulled out the straw, taking another lick of the whipped cream from the end of it. She asked if her new friend were “on edge” since she seemed just a little flustered. But it would appear that her actions were spurring Gwen on to be just a little bolder.
>>"I am... Fine. I think. What kind of places will you show me?"
Her smile were all the slier. Gwen’s attempts at flirtation were adorable and actually fairly intriguing. Maybe it was time for the two of them to get out of here so that Agnes to show her the sights. Another, final sip of her drink, and Agnes set it down on the table slipping out from behind the table, jutting out her hip a bit further than she needed to, into a delicious looking curve, just enough so that Gwen to get good look, before she stood up straight. Moving around the table, she held her hand out to her.
”Come on,” she said softly. ”Why don’t I just show you?”
Gwen had agreed to go with the woman off into the city to be shown the 'sites.' What sites they were going to see even Gwen wasn't sure - was it more bodily sites or was it actual New York sites? Gwen's body tingled with anxiety, anticipation, and... Thrill? That had to be the other feeling going throughout her body.
She watched Agnes stand up out of the chair and took a deep breath while she watched her show off her curvaceous body. She couldn't believe she was so attractive, geez. She nodded slowly and put her hand delicately into Agnes hand as she stood up slowly. She took a breath at the skin contact and that alone made her take a deep breath, "Let's see the sites, shall we?"
At first, she figured they would go see some sites, like the statue of liberty or something... But then...? Maybe they'd end up at Agnes apartment for some real site seeing? She wasn't sure if she knew how to, well, do site seeing with a woman. But, if she never tried, she'd never know.
In either case, the first site was the Empire State Building. She had heard about it but didn't really know that much about it. She stared up from the street at the large, crazy tall building. Still afraid of elevators, she wasn't sure if she'd ever actually make it to the top of some of these large buildings. Eesh.
Her hand slipped into hers and Agnes smirked a bit wider at the sensation. The softness of the other woman’s hand, the timidness with which she looked at her, it just gave the insect queen all the right chills. There was no denying what it was she actually wanted from the woman and now that they were in such close proximity, it could be felt in the air. The tension was so thick that it weighed upon their shoulders like heavy quilts just waiting to be tossed off -- amongst other things.
A pleased smile upon her lips, Agnes helped the other stand and took several steps ahead, pulling her along gently towards the entrance to the establishment. It was time for the two of them to go exploring…
Agnes, of course, didn’t want to make this hunt too easy. The truth was that Gwen certainly seemed new to this and she didn’t need her to get startled like a frightened hare. Therefore, instead of immediately dragging her back to her place, she would take a more scenic route. After all, she wouldn’t want to be labeled a liar, if Gwen was new around here then she certainly needed to take a close look at the city that she would be living in. That would mean a quick tour and a few necessary stops.
After the two of them had strolled out of the cafe, they found themselves slowly walking around the city, Agnes pointing out various points of architecture that she knew by heart. When you live in New York all your life, it’s pretty much known that you will pick up a few bits of trivia about the city, including unknown landmarks, beautiful structures, and places where famous movies had scenes filmed in. But, out of all of those, where was on place that needed to be pointed out, that was so famous in the culture of the city that it couldn’t be avoided - -the Empire State Building.
Standing out in front of it, Agnes smirked as she watched Gwendolyn look up and seeming trepidation in her eyes. Vaguely the ex-runaway wondered if the woman had some aversion to heights. That was no problem for her as Agnes herself could fly during the right moments of her molting cycle. This was not the right time, but still, she quickly got over any fears of heights that she could possibly have.
As she broke from her thoughts, Agnes reached out and took Gwendolyn’s hand again. A flirtatious smile, she bit her bottom lip playfully as she brought her towards the large doors, the entrance to building. ”Come on. Don’t you want to see what it’s like on top of the world?” She grinned. ”I won’t let you fall off. I promise, I’ll hold you tight.”
Gwen didn't realize how well Agnes knew New York City. She knew all the crooks and crannies of the different spots in the city. Gwen learned more Agnes than she learned from any of the 'internet.' It was helpful for the big stuff but all the little stores, the little sites, the history? She never would have known without Agnes. The woman knew her city, that was undeniable.
Gwen took a breath as she stared at the large, towering skyscraper. It was a gorgeous building - and it's height was very impressive. The manpower to build such a building had to be astounding. Gwen couldn't imagine being some of those construction workers, especially back in the day. Or even in this day, honestly. It had to be terrifying - just looking down, staring at the ground.
She felt Agnes hand slip into hers and made her insides go all sorts of tingly. She wasn't expecting her hand to be in hers. She nearly gasped, the intensity of the emotions that triggered in her at Agnes touch. Before she knew, she was getting pulled towards the entrance to the building.
>> ”Come on. Don’t you want to see what it’s like on top of the world? I won’t let you fall off. I promise, I’ll hold you tight.”
Gwendolyn nearly shook her head. She would actually prefer not to see the top of the world. Or be anywhere near it. But did she really want to say that to Agnes? Could she be honest with her about her fear of those... Elevators? With a nervous giggle, she nodded, "I'm holding you to that." That was flirty, right? Maybe it wouldn't be so bad getting into the elevator thing. She'd handled most of everything else fine - surely she could deal with an elevator. With a deep breath, she moved into the building behind Agnes and headed towards that steel, terrifying, thing.
A playful smile swept across Agnes’s lips as she pulled the other into the building and towards the elevator on the far side of the room. ”Sweetness, you can hold me to whatever you like.” Another wink and Agnes drifted towards the elevator on a vapor of alluring honeysuckle. Pushing the call button, she waited for the metal chamber to arrive with a pleasant ding!. As soon as the doors slid open, Agnes stepped inside and waved for Gwen to follow her in and ignore whatever trepidation was keeping her from moving forward.
Once Gwen was inside, Agnes slinked towards the back of the chamber after already hitting the elevator button for the top floor. There she waited, sharing the occasional glance with the other woman who seemed to be having trouble in the enclosed space. Agnes pressed closer, her hand reaching up and gently running up and down the woman’s back, soothingly and softly. She said nothing during this, instead merely offering Gwen a calming smile as they rode higher and higher towards the top of the towering building. When the final ding sang, Agnes stepped forward, out of the elevator and smiled at the swirl of cold air that swept across her face.
A tilt of her head and Agnes closed her eyes as she felt the air move around them. It was darker outside now as the sun set in the horizon. Already there could be seen those tiny pinpricks of stars that blanketed the looming darkness above their heads. Ever the sparkle of the silvery moon was beginning to rise, becoming clearer and clearer in the sky as the day swept away into night.
Agnes bravely stepped forward, towards the high railing that prevented anyone from taking a leap over the side. As she strolled only, her fingers danced along one of the many telescopes that lined the ledge, offering people a view of the city for only a quarter. However, the only view that Agnes wanted to observe was already her. Her predatory look returned as she smiled, eyes gazing over Gwen once again when she found her following.
”What did I tell you?” Agnes asked, making a little pose as she gestured towards the city. ”Breathtaking, isn’t it?” She was in no way referring to herself, however, if some wanted to make that assumption, she wouldn’t correct them.
Gwenslinked behind Agnes, nervous about riding in the elevator. A few mental pushes, it's okay, everyone uses them, it was definitely not a tiny box of death... Gwen stared for a moment as Agnes went into the elevator and waved to her. Gwen couldn't believe she was about to do but... She slowly stepped inside. With a nervous chuckle, "I do not like these... Metal box things," she grumbled, unsure if she was loud enough for Agnes to hear.
She nearly squirmed a little bit as she felt a hand run up and down her back. At first, the feeling was a surprise - she wasn't expecting the woman to touch her like that. At the same time, it was relaxing - her nerves fell some, but most of all the fear that had bubbled into her chest.
With a ding, Gwen followed Agnes out onto the top. She looked across the sky top, taking in the lowering sun and the beautiful woman who was posing in front of her.
>>”Breathtaking, isn’t it?”
Gwen nodded slowly as she took all the sites in - the light, the sun, the large, tall buildings that dotted the landscape. And, of course, the beautiful woman. She smiled, her cheeks a little flushed as she looked Agnes straight into those beautiful, deep blue eyes, "Yes, yo- it is quite breathtaking, breathtaking indeed." However, Gwen wasn't one to want to wait around on top of a huge building that made no real sense. She wanted to go back to the safety of the ground.
Agnes bravely stepped out to the highest point that the building security would allow any pedestrian to go. It wasn’t truly that terrifying as the most one could see was the expanse of the city skyline before them. In actuality, it was the idea of how high up, of the structure manmade beneath their feet that made people scared. Agnes wasn’t scared as there were too many times that she had flown thanks to her wings and just general desensitization. Gwen, on the other hand, still seemed to be having issues that was reflected in her reluctance to set foot on the roof. It was adorable, really, entirely not something that Agnes would use to her advantage.
Stepping out, she tried to lure Gwendolyn to follow her, gesturing towards the city, remarking on its beauty, as well as putting herself on total display. Even in the midst of being scared, Agnes could see the look in the other woman’s eyes as she gave Agnes a quick once over. It was an addicting feeling, to know that she affected people in this manner, and it was a sensation that she never wanted to let go of.
>>"Yes, yo- it is quite breathtaking, breathtaking indeed.”
Agnes smiled, biting her lower lip, and slowly advanced on the other. When she was standing before her, looking down into her starry eyes, Agnes reached up, taking both of the woman’s hands and gave her a small, gentle tug towards her. It was a followed by another, her playful grin expanding as she pulled Gwen further away from the safety of the doorway and onto the observation deck. The railing around the ledge was high, higher than any person could possibly jump or even accidentally fall over. They were safe, the city made sure of that. Still, Agnes treated the other gently, pulling her until they were near the ledge and could look out over the city.
Agnes turned, her sapphire eyes gazing out towards the skyline and the darkening sky. A breeze brushed past her, across her goosebumping skin. She smiled a small, sly smile, just taking a moment to look out over the city and enjoy the view. After a moment, she glanced back to Gwen, watching her until she got her attention. One hand, still holding her new friend’s, gently caressed her knuckle.
”You know...you don’t have to be nervous…” she said, letting that hang in the air. She left what she was referring to hang in the air, letting Gwen’s mind run wild before she continued. ”You won’t fall off. We’re perfectly safe up here.”
Gwen followed Agnes timidly out onto the huge roof of the crazy ridiculous structure that humanity decided was a good idea, back in what? Early 1900’s? She shook her head. If she hadn’t been dragged out from her time, she actually would be reaching old age when these huge buildings began getting built. That was a wild idea in her mind.
Instead, she is 100’s of years into the future, young despite her birth year, and they were as common as potatoes. It was pretty wild, really. She was beginning to enjoy being in this time besides the usual missing of her family, her home, her community. She hadn’t even visited Boston. And worse of all, she still couldn’t find any information on her family.
Gwen nearly died on the inside when Agnes came up to her, touched her hands, actually held her hands and began tugging her away. There was no backing out of it. She did ask for this, after all. She took a deep breath and followed Agnes, carefully, slowly. She could at least be cautious – granted, there was several security precautions in place to keep pedestrians and tourists from falling over the edge. She really was in no danger. But the thought of it was… Scary.
Once they were as far as they could get, Gwen cautiously looked out over the city. It was a breathtaking site, despite the height, the scariness of it all. She glanced back to Agnes as soon as she turned back to her. Gwen let out a small smile.
She nodded slowly, waiting for Agnes to finish her sentence. She was terrified of the height, but… She was also nervous due to the attractive woman who was caressing her hand.
She cracked a smile at the end of the sentence, “I-I know. It’s just… We didn’t have these type of things, where I am from.” Well, from when she was from would be more appropriate, but that would be opening a whole can of worms.
Standing on top of the world, Agnes couldn’t take her eyes of the lovely and mysterious brunette. She clearly had a problem with heights but she was still pushing herself through all this at Agnes’ beckoning. That was something that she certainly enjoyed. How many had promised her the world? How many had claimed that they would do anything for her? Crawl through glass? Walk through fire? Hurl themselves off of a building? No matter how many times she heard the promises or witnessed the actions, she was intrigued by it. Maybe that was because her whole life she had been a victim or a ghost; now she was making a presence in this world and it was rather addicting.
Of course Gwendolyn here was in one of those special categories where Agnes wasn’t trying to use her for some ulterior motive. Rather she was intrigued by the unassuming and inexperienced woman. She wanted to explore whatever it was that Agnes was stirring within her, and who was she to say no to that? Gwendolyn had been such a good sport all day, it would have almost been cruel to suddenly lose interest. Not that she had, of course; untapped territory could be oh so delicious to experience.
Standing near the ledge, the other woman at her side, Agnes smiled, giving her her full attention as she watched the little ticks and expressions on her face. She was fearful but there was a rush of excitement just underneath the skin that Agnes zeroed in on. A tender bite of her lip and she pointed out that Gwendolyn didn’t need to be scared -- then clarified that they were perfectly safe from falling over. It was a gesture that her new friend seemed to appreciate.
>> “I-I know. It’s just… We didn’t have these type of things, where I am from.”
Oh there were so many ways that that could be taken. To push the point a little, Agnes gently closed the gap between them. At this point in the evening, the lovers were finding their own little corners of the rooftop of slink off together to kiss or murmur sweet nothings. Agnes carefully wound her arm around Gwendolyn’s waist, her fingers softly stroking the nervous woman’s lower back as Agnes peered into her eyes, keeping her expression locked into hers.
”Really?” she asked with a tender breath. ”That’s a shame.” Her other hand lifted up, the palm softly caressing Gwen’s cheek. She leaned down, her voice dropping to a whisper as the tip of her nose brushed against the brunette’s forehead, the scent of honeysuckle only growing stronger with Agnes far closer proximity. ”But...that means...you have so much to make up for.” Soft, pillowy lips brushed Gwen’s ear as Agnes spoke. ”Gwedolyn…” she breathed. ”...do you think I’m beautiful?”
Gwen could not believe what she just did. What just happened. Did she really just do… What does she think she just did? She closed her eyes, peeked one open and stared at the beautiful woman next to her. Oh God, she did. Who knew the 21st century was so tempting. Would she have done this if someone had come to her in her time? She honestly wasn’t sure.
She slipped off the bed and grabbed her undergarments, slowly putting them back on. Her knees felt weak, her body tired yet satisfied. She was in a stranger’s apartment, by herself, and just did the hanky-panky with a woman. She would have been killed in her time.
Yet, here she was. In her undies, her hair a complete mess, sweaty, next to a beautiful woman. She took another deep breath. She probably should have told the blue-eyed woman that she originally born in 1840 since she did just… Well, yeah. She timidly looked back towards the woman and gave a weak, blush filled smile. Where was this place even at? It was going to be fun finding her way back. Yikes.
"Um... Uh... T-that was..." what did she say? Should she say something? Oh god, why did she put herself in this situation, "Fun."
The heat on top of the Empire State Building could not be quelled when the two women were so close together. Agnes could practically smell the electricity in the air as she pushed, and pushed, and pushed Gwendolyn into exploring whatever feelings were causing her hesitation. Her closeness, the scent of honeysuckle in the air, and warm breath upon the other’s lips seemed to bring all those walls down. Soon after, there was no more need for words as Agnes merely whispered in the other woman’s ear ”My place. Now.” It was not a suggestion, but rather, a command.
One which Gwen had seemingly agreed to without issue.
The Uber ride back to Agnes’ place went by quicker than could be imagined. The combustible energy between the two of them made the time antsy but also extremely exciting. The second the duo walked in through the front door, Agnes already had her lips pressed against the other’s as she was steered towards the bedroom. It was going to be a long night ahead of them but neither would mind.
-----Fade to Black-----
Agnes awoke to the sensation of her lover beginning to stir. She made no movements, others than the gentle opening of her eyes as sunlight began to cascade into her meager room. In silence she watched as Gwendolyn moved, climbing out from beneath of soft covers of her bed and grabbing her undergarments that had been strewn about the room. The brunette said nothing at first, merely observing her, a lazy and lecherous smile on her lips as she observed the out-of-place beauty as she was bare to the world. Truly it was a beautiful sight.
Once Gwendolyn finally turned and spotted that Agnes was awake, the most adorable blush came over her features. Agnes sat up, modesty in no way dawning upon her as she sat up with her sheets pooled around her waist. The old Agnes would have covered up near immediately, but this Agnes approved of the sensation of the morning air upon her skin. Besides, why did she need to cover up when the woman next her had already seen this (and so much more)?
>>"Um... Uh... T-that was...Fun."
Agnes purred as she reached over, her smooth fingernails lightly tracing down the other woman’s spine in slow, deliberate fashion. ”Mmm, that was,” she said in a tender voice. She then smiled as she caught the other’s eye. ”Rest assured, you were excellent.” Though it was never said, Agnes knew that the other had not bedded a woman in the past. Not that it was fumbling or bad, but it was certainly sweet and she could sense some uncertainty. Still, in the end, Gwendolyn proved to be more than up to the task and, as such, needed commending.
Gwen couldn't believe the night she had. She fumbled around putting her clothes back on, slipping her dress back onto her. She was at least going to be modest in the stranger's home, despite whatever might have happened the night before. Gwen couldn't believe she had slept the night away, too. Gwendolyn stared as the woman on the bed woke up, letting herself stay... Uncovered. She turned an even deeper red. Gwen needed to get on board with the way people did things in the 21st century - it was her own apartment and it wasn't like she hadn't already seen all of her. Her 1800's self just struggled with it.
>> ”Rest assured, you were excellent.”
She gave a prideful smile, "Well... Thank you." It was a nice little boost to her self-confidence, especially considering it was her first time with a woman. She beamed a little as she sat down on the edge of the bed and felt the tingle of her body as Agnes traced her spine. She nearly shivered but simply sighed in happiness and relaxed a little bit, "It was my first time, so I... I'm glad it was good for you." Clearly, she wasn't sure what to do next. She bit her lip. Should she compliment Agnes? Ugh, new situations, new feelings, new everything.
The blush and the small shuddering sigh were absolutely perfect coming from the lovely brunette’s lips. Agnes couldn’t help but adore the young woman whom she had help to usher into this new phase of her life. It was clear that she was new to this but, if last night was any indication, then she was going to do just fine. Besides, even if it was something that she would eventually turn away from, Agnes herself would be tickled pink to know that, from now on, she would always occupy a tiny spot in the back of the woman’s head. She owned a piece of her, now and forever.
Leaning up, Agnes brushed her lips against the back of the woman’s neck, still deciding against any need for modesty at this point. Gwendolyn was quick to replace her under garments and dress, but Agnes was too much of a free spirit to allow herself to feel confined at this at this point. Besides, she wanted to enjoy this blissful morning before the inevitability would rear its head.
>>"Well... Thank you...It was my first time, so I... I'm glad it was good for you."
”Mmm, it was more than good, honey,” she said, playfully nipping at Gwendolyn’s ear. However, she aside from some light teasing with her lips, she made no further motions to drag her new paramore back into bed. Rather, Agnes gave the woman another kiss on the neck before she finally sighed, turned, and slipped out of bed.
Standing next to the bedside, stretching out and feeling her loosened muscles pull, she stood in all her blissful glory under the light of the morning sun. It was clear that she cared not about hiding herself as she boldly walked around the bed, offering the woman a teasing wink with her sapphire eyes, before she made her way towards the bathroom. There was silence for a second as she turned the knob of the shower, causing a cascade of water to pour through her shower. After another moment, she reappeared in the doorway, offer the other a sweet smile.
”Again, thank you for last night, darling,” she said with a sigh, her hand on her hip. ”Feel free to take your time before leaving. I’m going to head to work soon.” She turned and disappeared behind the door again.
She certainly did like to love them and leave them...
