Character's real name: Fumio Iishi
Codename: Siren
Gender: Male
Age: 32
Nationality: Japanese
Birthplace: Kumomoto, Japan
Personality: Very, very positive. Very cheerful. It's hard to get him down... Unless you hit one of his (very few) buttons. Then he gets going, and is hard to cheer back up again. He's also very much into the ladies... (read: a player)- or at least he
was, until his girlfriend caught pregnant, at which time he voluntarily gave up his polyamourous lifestyle. He's also relatively superstitious, and naturally charming.
Notes (hobbies, phobias, worries, etc.): Believes the number "3" to be extremely,
extremely unlucky. He used to spend spare time traveling around the country on foot, trying to find work, and dodge a specific Ex. He still likes to travel but is happy to stay put now, and teach music, playing in a bar/club on the weekends.
Side (good, bad, or neutral): Good
Everyday clothing: Comfortable clothing. Tends to favor shirts that he can leave open at the top. Example: A button down shirt with the top three buttons left undone, and slacks. He also wears low-perching red sunglasses that have no ear-resting parts. They simply balance on the end of his nose.He doesn't need glasses to see... He just likes how they look.
Uniform: n/a
Pajamas: He sleeps one of three ways- in whatever he was wearing during the day... In his under ware (if he decided to wear it)... or in the buff. Depends on where he is, and how hot out it is.
Hair color and style: Thick and very dark black. He keeps it a little messy.
Eye color: Dark brown
Height: 5' 10"
Build: Well toned ~ average.
Scars: n/a
Tatoos: n/a
Piercings: A small gold earring in each ear, plus a cuff-style earring up higher in his left ear.
Description of ability(ies):- He has an "affinity" for music. Learning to play instruments is second nature to him- easier than learning to ride a bike, for instance.
- He can cause music to sound out of thin air. The creation of music includes all instrumental sounds, drums, and even additional voices of any gender or age.
- He can sing harmony with himself, up to seven part. The voices can be singing different lyrics all at the same time, but the diction gets less distinct the more different sounds he's trying to make with his own voice at once.
- His own singing voice is hypnotic.
- He can sing through others, forcing them to sing. Their voices are not hypnotic.
Cons (weaknesses) of ability(ies):- His powers are rather passive, and he can't exactly attack very easily with them. He cannot sing for a living, due to the fact that his voice hypnotizes crowds.
- His powers are tied to his emotions... If he's upset, one will probably hear discordant music. Happy, perhaps an up beat drum and flute, or brass. If the emotion is too overwhelming, he probably will not notice that he's creating the music out loud, and just go on with it.
- He constantly hears music... 23/7. It never stops for him.
- His natural way of communicating is singing. For him, speaking in a normal voice is paramount to everyone else singing all the time. Over the years it's become second nature, but it can slip.
Fighting style (if any): a bit of this and that. More Aikido than anything else, but nothing terribly serious.
History of your character: Fumio Iishi was the first child of a rich, well-to-do, traditional Japanese family. Unfortunately for him, he mutated at the age of 11. It was then that music started playing nonstop about him. He couldn't stop it. And whenever he opened his mouth, all that would come out was song. Finally, around his 12th birthday, he managed to get his powers under control... mostly.
When he was 12, his parents had a second child; a girl, named Makoto. Fumio loved his little sister with all his heart, and spent the majority of his free time with her. He would sing to her, and with her, and the two got along very well.
When he was 15, and Makoto was 3, his parents decided that the second child, who had not shown any signs of being a mutant, would be a better heir to the family name, and disowned Fumio.
Moving to Tokyo, he got an apartment using a portion of the money his ex-parents had given him when they disowned him. He lived fairly comfortably, if not happily, off the money.
Around age 19 he met a girl by the name of Itsuko, whom he fell deeply in love with.
When he was around 22, a 17 year old American boy named Eric Daniels came to Japan. Seeing Eric as in need of help, Fumio offered his home to him, and the three lived together for a bit. Not soon after that, however, Itsuko died tragically.
For many years after having been disowned, Makoto's nanny, Ama, had arranged meetings for Fumio and Makoto. Makoto's parents did not know about this, as they would have severely disapproved. One bad incident, however, put an end to those meetings forever.
When he was 25, Eric left to continue his quest elsewhere. Fumio left Japan all together, having nothing left to tie him there but an ex-family he was no longer aloud to see. He 'settled' in California, not particularly staying in one city, but partying and dancing his way from place to place. At 27, he met Donna- and fell in love again. Donna, however, turned out to be a big mistake, when she revealed her true colours, robbing Fumio blind, and breaking his heart.
The next three years were spent wandering around the country, trying to avoid his insane Ex, Donna, who had slipped into true madness. One day, he thought he saw his long-missed sister on the television, which was showing a fight in New York. Finding his way there, it was not long before he was living in the mansion, in the roll of a Music "Professor". He also found himself falling in love for a third time in his life- with the beautiful blue-haired Delphi Starling. Some odd power malfunctions later, Delphi caught pregnant, and is now the mother of three of his children- Aria, Harmony and Apollo. Fumio loves his new life, his children, and the woman who gave them to him.
He used to harbor deep resentment for the human race, but Delphi is bringing him around towards a more peaceful state of being. He is still not ecstatic about them, but he's getting better.
Siren is currently an instructor at the institute, teaching all of the music classes.
