Personality: Derek is hard to get to know, mainly
because he lets very few people into his dark and
gritty world. He doesn't trust very many people for
reasons of his own, and is considered a loner. He's
not exactly a team player and doesn't like people
getting in his way of doing things. If someone is ever
lucky enough to team up with him, they need to be sure
that it's Derek's way or the highway.

Notes (hobbies, phobias, worries, ect.): Derek doesn't
have enough time for hobbies between fighting crime at
night as The Archer and managing a Private Eye
business during the day.

Side (good, bad, or neutral): Derek is definitely. a
hero for good, but he also takes it to an extreme,
sometimes taking the law into his own hands and
judging criminals himself.

Everyday clothing: Derek is usually seen wearing a
black shirt, weather it be long or short sleeved with
a black leather jacket on top of it. He wears dark
blue jeans and black boots.

Uniform: As The Archer, Derek wears a body suit made
up of Kevlar on most parts of his body and ceramic
plating on the front and back of his torso. He wears a
mask covering all of his head. Covering his mouth is a
voice changer to disrupt anyone from hearing his real
voice while wearing the mask. A special pair of
one-way goggles cover his eyes that have night vision
and binoculars built into them. There is a radio built
into the mask that is activated by pressing a button
on his belt.

Hair color and style: Short, spiked brown hair and
long side-burns.

Eye color: Blue.

Build: A muscular build due to an almost constant
workout from fighting crime and keeping in shape.

Scars: Several bullet wound scars on his chest and
back.
Tatoos: The names Joey and Kerrie on his left and
right shoulder, respectively. He also has the name
Kristen on her lower neck/back
Piercings: None.

Description of ability(ies): Although not a mutant,
Derek has extraordinary skills with a bow and a quiver
full of arrows. On his nightly outings as The Archer,
he brings a utility belt full of various things such
as smoke bombs, hand cuffs, and a multi-tool. Along
with his bow, Derek carries an air tazer and a baton
to subdue criminals with.

Cons (weaknesses) of ability(ies): Derek has made
special precautions that he has very few weaknesses,
but it still has some. His suit doesn't protect him
from everything or everyone, especially when going up
against strong mutants. Derek also judges quickly in
terms of fighting crime. If he thinks a criminal
should be put to death, he'll do it then and there
himself. This hasn't gotten him the best reputation on
the street or with the proper authorities, both of
which want them off the streets permanently. Whenever
Derek becomes The Archer, he has both street gangs and
police officers to watch out for.

Fighting style (if any):

History of your character: Derek Black was born in
March of 1975. His father was a police officer and his
mother took care of the kids at home. By the time
Derek was ten years old he knew he wanted to be a
police officer, just like his father and older
brother. Derek was also involved in archery. He had a
happy and normal childhood. After he graduated from
High School, he and his high school sweetheart got
engaged and went to college together. After college
they were married and nine months later had two twin
babies, Joey and Kerrie. At age 22 Derek became a
police officer in the NYPD. He quickly moved up the
ranks and was assigned to doing under-cover work. He
was obsessed with his work, but he still had time for
his wife and children. At age 28 Derek was assigned to
monitor a minor street gang. For a year he embedded
himself into the gang, enough so that he even became
the right-hand man of the leader. The time came for
the gang to be arrested, all but one who got away. The
leader of the gang, Richie Deacon, got away and
remembered Derek for what he did. Six months later
Derek, Kristen, Kerrie and Joey were all walking down
the sidewalks of New York. Derek was holding his six
year old twins in both of his arms and holding hands
with Kristen when Richie spotted them from behind. He
didn't think twice before pulling out a handgun and
opening fire on Derek and his family. Kristen fell
first from a gunshot hitting the back of her head.
Derek tried to run but Richie shot at his back. The
bullets went all the way, hitting Joey and Kerrie.
Derek fell to the ground and the next thing he
remembered was waking up in the hospital, and getting
the bad news from his best friend and partner, Eric
Daniels. For the last six months Derek has devoted his
life to fighting crime as The Archer, a name coined by
the local media of New York. The Archer takes the law
into his own hands, punishing criminals as he sees
fit. After quitting the police force, Derek opened up
a private eye business. In his business, he sticks to
just managing investigators and not doing any
fieldwork himself.
