The punch was too little, too late. The woman caught the arm and drove her forearm into the elbow. While it wasn’t as devastating as the first arm, it still managed to tear connective tissue. And hurt. The entire world was pain to the Ranger now.
When the woman had climbed back onto his chest, he couldn’t even feel the punches she was savagely delivering to his face. Sometime during the barrage of strikes his eyes rolled back and the world went dark.
After one last blow to his skull the woman left Ranger lying in the alley. She had succeeded in unknowingly helping a purse snatcher. The purse snatcher of course had used the opportunity to shift into another woman and slip away into the city a silent thank you to the woman who had pummeled the man who tried to help his victim.
The woman had also managed to save the Ranger a headache down the line. While he now had a New York City license to carry, his SIG was by no means something that was legal. She had carried that away so it wasn’t with him when the EMTs and later law enforcement showed up.
Ranger was transported to Bellevue Hospital and was taken in for emergency life-saving care. A nurse took his wallet and from his identification contacted his emergency contact. Blackforest Tactical. Tedward was at the front desk and received the call. His first call was to Haven. He didn’t have Noel’s number available, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t get word to her.
Several breaks, concussions, building pressure on his brain, blood loss, and a laundry list of other injuries. The Ranger was hanging on by a thread.
