Derek had took the town car to Sanctuary so that he and Donahue could find him some clothes. He was dressed for a relaxed day out in a simple pair of khaki joggers and green t-shirt. The mutant had called Don two hours in advance to tell him that he was coming by.

He was actually excited about getting to know Don a little bit more. The twenty year old got out of the car and made his way inside of the homeless shelter and community center. 

Once he made it to Don's room, he knocked and waited for him to respond. 

Don was sitting in the chair in his room waiting for Derek to arrive. He had gotten ready as soon as he got Derek's call. He had explored a little bit of Sanctuary and made some light conversation with a few mutants the night before. He had went to bed a little late but it was fine as he was used to running on a few hours of sleep.

When he heard a knock on the door he hopped out of the chair and opened it. When he saw it was indeed Derek his face broke into a smile. "Hey, feeling refreshed after a good nights sleep?" The teen was happy that he was getting to hang out with the older mutant.

"Yep! And you?" Derek asked with a returned smile. He sniffed and wrapped a loose arm around Don's shoulders before letting it slide down and away. He led him away from the bedrooms, to the ground floor, through the foyer and out the golden doors.

"How was your night? Did you get enough sleep?" Derek asked. He wanted to know what Donahue was up to. He hoped that he enjoyed himself and if not, Derek was more than happy to take him to the Mansion or to his Co-op for him to stay a few days.

The twenty year old mutant opened the car door and slid to the other side so that Don didn't have to walk around.

"Yeah, it was pretty good. The bed's great after a good bit of walking around." Don followed Derek through Sanctuary. He was still surprised at how nice it was considering it was a homeless shelter. People were a little cagey but that was to be expected with what some mutants have been through. Overall it was a nice place to call home until he found his own.

"I got enough sleep, yeah." He did technically, though it would probably be considered unhealthy by most people, but he felt fine. He climbed into the car into the seat beside Derek's.

"Good," Derek smiled down at Don. He was more than happy to find that he had a comfortable night at the Sanctuary.

The twenty year old told the driver to go ahead and take them to the mail. As they started to drive off, Derek looked over at Don with a smile on his face, "so, tell me about yourself, Donahue. What are your likes and dislikes."

Oh, um, okay. Well, I like almost all types of music. I always wanted to learn how to play the guitar or something like that." He thought for a second about what else he liked. "Video games are pretty great too. RPG's mainly, but I'll honestly just play what ever I'm in the mood for." He hadn't been able to play any in a while, but that was probably because he's been living on the street for a little bit with no access.

Now for his dislikes. "The only thing I really dislike are people who will judge someone or hate them just because they're different. Especially if it's something they can't control." Don had never understood why people did that, maybe it was because they didn't know how to react to differences so they responded with aggression.

The twenty-year-old nodded his head slowly as Don explained his likes and dislikes to him. He found Don very interesting especially since he just met him about twenty-four hours ago. Derek turned his attention to look out of the window at the passing scenery, then back at Donahue, "That's very interestin', Don. I've never been a huge gamer, but I do enjoy playin' MMORPG games. I think that's the name of it." Derek wasn't too sure, "where you can customize your character and everythin'."

"Same here. Bigots and I don't mix well."

"Yeah, those can be fun, but the other players sometimes ruin it all." Don didn't want to just focus on himself all day as he didn't think he was all that interesting. He turned in his seat towards derek. "So, what do you like to do? Well besides what you've already said." He wondered how much him and the other mutant had in common being that they grew up in two completely different atmospheres.

"Ah," Derek nodded his head. He heard how some players became way too serious and started doing things that damaged the fun-ness of a particular game. When Don asked Derek would he enjoyed doing, he had to think about it. The slightly older mutant couldn't say 'gawkin' at cute boys' for obvious reasons. So he decided to answer it with more appropriate responses,

"I...I like cookin', going to Central Park, hangin' out with friends, talkin' with friends, and several other fun things. I also like watching Binge." Some, if not most, of his favorite shows was on there.

"Yeah, just being out with friends is always an easy way to have some fun." Don turned back towards the window after he said this looking out it to see all the scenery. Well, as much scenery as a New York road could get. After waiting a little bit he spoke back up. "So, I know you're not from here, but I don't think I ever got your opinion on what it's like compared to where you were before." Don had been living here his entire life and he wanted to know what Derek's thoughts were when he saw it for the first time.

"Well," Derek started to answer, "being in New York, people are way more acceptin' than being in North Carolina. I would love to stay here for the rest of my life, but I don't know how my future will turn out." He sniffed and leaned back in his seat to look over at

Five minutes later, the town car pulled up to the New York mall. With a smile, he opened the door and walked out. "Ready for new clothes?"
