The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

She listened quietly as he offered to basically have her back. Get her some food? Stay for the night? God, she was overwhelmed with the size of the place. It caused her to remain silent for quite a bit. Her eyes went to his face and she said eventually, "What is this place, really? It's too big," she sounded genuinely upset about that.
Again, though, she was used to tight spaces. Hell, the city kind of scared her too! She fell back a step and the knot grew in her tummy, "Maybe this ain't such a good idea. Maybe I can just go sleep in my car."
"It's the Mansion! The sister school to Xavier's Institute. It's for mutants to learn how to control their powers and the such," Ignacio noticed that something was up with Martha, but didn't know if he should ask what was wrong with her. Then Martha told her. It was the size of the mansion that made her uneasy.
"Aw, don't go, por favor. It'll be okay, I promise." Iggy took a small step toward her. "Do you just want me to bring you food to your car? I can do that, too! I problem at all."
"I don't know!" She cried out. She ducked her head, she was so very overwhelmed with this new concept. "I don't... I... I just... Holy sh** this place." But she didn't walk out. He was trying to appeal to her somehow and she was just freaking out, and she felt awful, so freakin awful.
"I don't want food, just help me get a room so I can be alone, please... Ok? I don't want to even be here."
When Martha shouted, Ignacio flinched some. It didn't know how to respond to that other than to stare at her with his beautiful wide eyes. The young sun god chewed on his bottom lip before nodding his head.
"Yep!" Ignacio walked passed her and up the stairs. When he made it to the second floor, he led her to the empty rooms and opened the door. "You can stay here."
She went in and right to the bed sitting down and covering her face. "I am sorry!" she said, not having meant to yell at him like she had. She was just freaking out, right? She took a few deep breaths and raked her fingers through her hair. "Don't go," she said, "Sit here with me, kid. Will ya?"
Ignacio hesitated for a bit and studied her closely his kaidescope eyes. He took a hazardous step into the room, then another and another before he realized that he wasn't in any immediate danger. The teenage Sun god sat down next to her on the bed and crossed his legs.
"...I hope you don't have explosive powers," Ignacio ran his fingers through his hair as he tried for a smile. He studied the side of her face again. "What can you do?"
"I can move stuff when I make music," she said, flopping back and running a nervous hand through her hair, kinda exposing an outtie belly button in the process but not taking notice. "It kind of gives me a head ache. I have one right now cause I did it before I bumped into you. That's how I could eat. I don't like what I did, though. I stole from someone, but I was really hungry. It doesn't make it better. I didn't steal a lot, just ten dollars, and now I feel like an asshole for doing it. That is why I am pissy, not you, so you know... This sucks. I never stole before. It didn't give me any good feelings or highs, it just felt desperate. Like... I got up there and sang and made some dude's wallet come out of his pocket and pretended to flirt with him to pick it up and took the dude's money. Who does that?"
"...someone who's starving," Ignacio answered after a few seconds of silence, "at least your power is pretty cool." He slowly shrugged his shoulders. "Maybe you could go to Sanctuary? I hear that's nice! Though, humans there keep disappearing..." Ignacio huffed and looked over at Martha, then around the room. It was dull, but obviously that was the point so that someone could make it there own.
"I guess..." she murmured tiredly and looked back at him. Her mouth gave a half smile and she said, "I guess desperate times call for desperate measures, right? Still don't make it right though. And no, I don't wanna live in a big place, I think I wanna get a trailer and live in that."
But she would need to get money first... And she couldn't do that there at the Mansion, and she didn't want to go live with a bunch of people she didn't know.
"So what are you gonna do then? Just wander around and not have a place to be or starve o-or worse!" Iggy exclaimed, flamboyantly throughing his arms up in the air. He was happy that he was able to get Martha to a warm place, but what would happen to her after she left? Luckily she didn't have a visible mutation so she didn't have to worry about hecklers, but still.
"I don't know." she said. "Why does it matter anyways?" What a silly question to ask. "And I don't know if I am staying tonight. I just... don't know anything right now." She gave a big sigh and rolled onto her belly so she could hide her face.
Everything was messy in her world. She went on further to say, somewhat muffled, "Not like anyone cares. From home."
Ignacio had to pull out the big guns. She needed to at least stay the night and get a good rest before leaving that morning. With a quick sigh, he decided to play hard ball. "It matters. Everything matters." He shrugged his shoulders again.
"...And you're staying the night and if you don't...I'll tell that you stole from a man." What? Ignacio may be a sweetheart, but he's also manipulative. Just another trait of his.
"I don't think you have what it takes to blackmail," she snorted, calling the bluff she thought he was doing. She sat up and said, "I can just walk out. Right now." And she moved to her feet, and headed right for the door. He wouldn't dare go after her, would he? Well??
She made it to the hallway, and then found herself staring one way, then the next... Annnnd she didn't know which way to go! So she took off running in the direction she thought would take her outside.
So, Martha was calling his bluff, huh? Ignacio rarely bluff unless it came to his powers. The teenager watched her walk away before getting up and going after her. She was going to stay there whether she liked it or not! Though, this could be chalked up to false imprisonment, he didn't care.
"Hey, you! Did you take my wallet?!" Ignacio asked as he patted down his pockets. He had this wallet, but this was all apart of him acting as if she did. "You took my wallet didn't you! After I tried and help you?!"
Oh hell no... That turd was falsely accusing her. She skidded to a halt and then turned around, "Don't you pull that s**t on me, kid!" And then she burst through the door to freedom. She booked it over the lawn, but was pretty easily winded right at the moment after several days of no food. One did not get strong again with just one big meal, it would take a few days to get herself feeling better. She barely, just barely, made it to her car and got inside, locking the doors.
She really shouldn't be doing what she was about to do next... She stuck the keys in, she tried to start the car several times, it wouldn't... Once... twice... A third time... It finally started! She put the car in reverse, seeing spots from the running. There was a sharp feeling in her head and it caused her to gun it... The car backed up... too fast... way too fast... And she was headed right for the woods without her seatbelt, and she was about to pass out.
