The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Indeed... Delilah didn't just see the clothing, she saw Kendra as if she wasn't invisible. The little one smiled toothily at her and said, "Preddy." Then climbed out of the bed and shuffled sleepily out of the room to go get her grandma to help her with the potty. Her little head was rumply with mussed hair, and her clothes were in a state of disarray as well. She started climbing down the stairs ever so gingerly, acting as if not one thing was out of the ordinary. So... Delilah was gifted... Yeah... It wasn't hard to tell that she was pretty smart for someone with a disability such as hers, maybe learning wasn't easy for her, but she was quite self aware and aware of things that even some others were not.
Hell, it would probably shock Kendra to learn that not only did Xavia's mother know about Xavia being gifted, but she was the only one actually aware of Delilah's gifts. It would probably shock Kendra to learn that Xavia's mom was... also gifted... But her gift was not so easy to spot and she hid it well.
Xavia, who felt the lack of her kiddo with her, stirred and rolled to her back. She woke up and sighed tiredly, making a sound that could have been a gag, but she didn't get up out of bed just yet. The plant mutant lay there and tried to gain her bearings before doing anything.
Kendra noticed Xavia stirring and moved over to the bed. She sat at the edge of the bed and ran a light hand over tired, tense shoulders. Kendra's fingers danced along Xavia's back as she tried to comfort her. She wasn't sure, but.... She thought the girl had just seen her invisible. That wasn't possible right? Kendra looked around the room and didn't see any mirrors. No reflective surfaces, and she was to far away from the window to rightly say that she had seen her in the pane of glass. It just wasn't possible....Was it? Kendra didn't know that Xavia's daughter had gifts. She knew that she loved her daughter, but they hadn't spoken much about her daughter save, for that one time the night they met.
Kendra supposed they hadn't talked much about a good many things. Like how she came to the mansion or why Kendra left Georgia. Their friendship was one of experience and shared memories. They had been through a lot together in the short time that they knew each other. It didn't make their bond any less meaningful, just because there were things they still didn't know about each other. Kendra didn't think she had any other mutants in her family. She would be wrong. There were other mutants. It was the reason her father hated them so fiercely, but she never knew that. Her father would never offer it up either. He would rather she live her whole life thinking she's a freak to punish her than tell her the family secret to ease her guilt just a little. Her father was a bastard.
Kendra sat on the bed trying to rouse her friend from sleep. Her fingers moved over her slightly exposed shoulder. She could feel the warmth of Xavia's skin and the smell of roses. The whole place just smelled amazing, but Xavia did especially. Kendra bit her lip a little and pushed thoughts out of her mind. Crazy thoughts that she shouldn't even be thinking. She was never one to....Oh no that's just crazy. Kendra smiled lightly at Xavia when she finally did wake up. She was wearing just some thrown on clothes over an invisible body. Nothing too formal but she joked "Im all dressed for dinner." She paused a moment before adding. "Your ma's not going to be freaked out that I'm a mutant is she?" Kendra had some experience with families that hated mutants. She couldn't shake her self conscious fears as she sat there staring at the face of someone she was close with. They had a connection. Her eyes seemed like deep pools of so many mysteries, Kendra wanted to REALLY get to know her better over the next couple of days.

She spent a few minutes just... breathing. The sensation of those invisible fingers was felt, she knew Kendra was there, especially when she saw the floating, but formed clothing. She gave a sigh and sat up, murmuring, "I ate too many onion rings. Good, but greasy." She wrinkled her nose. "No, mama knows I am gifted, and she t'inks Lilah is gifted... And I t'ink mama is gifted." She shrugged a little, "But if she is, she hides well." Of course, Mama was old skool. She grew up in a time where being mutant meant she might die, so old habits prohibited her from talking about it very much. "And she knows t'is is a boarding house for gifted. I promise you, she is t'e most chill mom ever when it comes to t'is... She had to live t'rough what I did from a different perspective... When one loses t'eir daughter like t'at, t'ey tend to figure out fast t'at some t'ings don't matter. I promise she likes you already, she doesn't cook and offer food to just anyone."
And then she was out of bed and on her feet. She gestured for Kendra to come downstairs and to the dining room. Mama was already plating food for Delilah, who was freshly washed up and hair brushed out after the mussing it got from her nap. She ate at the goulash with gusto.
Mama saw the two, didn't even at an eye when one was just floating clothes, and then said, "Bout time. Hope you hungry."
She dished put all the pots and pans on the table, serving it family style, and gestured for them to dig in.
Kendra pulled out a chair and sat down. She supposed she didn't have to bother putting on clothes, but he was glade he did. She looked over and saw the little girl smiling at her. She smiled back unsure if she could see her or not. Her face was a mixture of amusement and confusion, but he was a sweet little girl. Kendra sat down at the table and looked at all the food in front of her. It was a lot of food considering it was just the four of them. Xavia had mentioned this was a boarding house for mutant. Did that mean there were others here now? Would they be joining them?
Kendra pushed her hair back over her shoulder. Her hair was still wet and stringy from her bath, even in her astral form her hair took on the properties it had when she fell asleep. Kendra quickly threw her hair up in a ponytail as she looked at the massive amounts of food. It looked good at least. she had never had this type of food but he would eat it hungrily and with Gusto. Kendra wasn't a picky eater. In fact, she was quite the little piggy. Often times she found herself dream walking around the mansion at night with nothing to do but eat and watch late night TV. She found that she loooooved to eat.
"Thank you look really good mama." Kendra said. She didn't know Xavia's mother's name so she opted to call her mama. She got a warm feeling from her. Kendra felt silly that he was nervous around the woman at all. Sitting across from her at the table she felt like she was a part of this family. It was kind of strange for her thought. She had never had a family home cooked dinner before. Her family just wasn't like that, what little family she had. Kendra being from the south should have been raised like this. Everyone sharing food across a fully stocked table with home cooked southern offerings. She picked up a bowl of rolls and put one on her plate before offering one to the little girl, who seemed to be reaching for it before she even motioned in her direction. Like she could see that she had looked her way. Finally it was killing her she had to know. "Delilah....Can you see me honey?" She asked outright. The table got quiet for a moment as they waited for an answer.

Delilah watched the lady her mommy brought home. She was very curious why the lady just asked her if she could see her. Her brows puckered in some confusion and she said, "Yeah, priddy." She then giggled a little and stuffed a mouth full of dumpling into her mouth, going, "Mmm!" Apparently, the little girl didn't pay much attention to people when she was eating and getting red sauce all over her face in the process since her motor skills were not the greatest.
Mama smiled and nodded, then sat down next to Delilah to help her out some with her food, as well as to eat her own stuff. She pointed a spoon at Xavia and said, "You... Eat... Feel better." Her accent was much thicker than Xavia's, words slower.
Xavia sighed and served the cabbage and noodle dish for herself, then tucked in. She did something that she wouldn't do out in public, and propped her foot on the chair so her knee was upraised and she was completely relaxed. Her pallor was still kind of ashen, but she was able to eat at least a little bit to start, and mostly to please her mother. She looked over to the invisible girl and said, "Mama is a good cook.
As far as the boarding house went, Xavia was still in the process of restoring some rooms and hadn't gotten anyone living there just yet. Nobody was coming in for dinner, Mama just liked to cook big meals sometimes. Besides, with Derek coming around, there were never leftovers for very long, the boy could eat.

After dinner was over Kendra found herself settling in. Her body was still upstairs sleeping in the tub and she supposed she'd have to move it. She headed upstairs and moved into the bathroom. First thing she did was drain the water. She didn't want her body sitting in the now cold water just chilling there. That's a good way to find yourself with a cold or worse. Kendra found some clothes in the next room and put them over herself. First she lightly pulled the shirt down over her sleeping head and then she managed to drag her body to the bed where she slipped on a pair of shorts. The clothes appeared on her astral body as well after she put them on her sleeping body. Kendra then simply peeled off the new layers and tossed them in the floor. Though, the clothes remained on her sleeping body. She paused a moment to realize how bizarre that was. She just shook her head lightly and covered herself up.
Moving back into the hall she found Xavia again. It was something that had been on her mind for awhile, but she never brought it up. Kendra didn't know about Xavia's stalker. She thought she had helped her handle that problem once and for all. As far as Kendra knew the matter was settled. Still, she knew that Xavia was a tough gal, but she didn't really know how far her plant based powers went. She could make vines from her hands and that's all she knew about her powers. She had really been interested in seeing more of her powers in action. Kendra even had a few tricks up her sleeve to show Xavia. Her teleporting wasn't really something Xavia was aware of. She had done it at the nightclub, but Xavia was drugged. Kendra wasn't even sure if she remembered much from that night. Her memory of it was sort of hazy herself.
"Hey! This is gone sound crazy and random, but you thank you could show me your mutation? Like what'cha can do. I can't believe we've never showed off for each other before, but knowing that your whole family is gifted just got me thankin... I wanna see what'cha got." Kendra said in that sweet southern voice. She would be thrilled to step out into some place safe to practice and just see what Xavia could really do.

Xavia was on the couch, staring down at her phone when Kendra was finished with what she was doing. She had gotten this weird text, it made no sense, and she didn't know who it was from but the fact that it was happening and weird things kept happening since after the attack, she wasn't sure what to think. Her eyebrows were puckered as she read and reread the text.
2375399002: I bet your skin is as soft as the roses you smell like.
What in the hell?
When Kendra started speaking, she jumped and the phone was dropped. She put her hand up to her throat and took several breaths. Crap... She peered at Kendra while trying to calm her pounding heart, saying, “Uh... yeah... I can do t'at I suppose... But I have to be careful not to overdo it.”
She reached down to pick her phone up and tucked it into her pocket, standing up and taking another deep breath. “I keep having weird t'ings happen lately, and feeling like someone's watching all t'e time. You t'ink I am having issues wit' my hormones or am I really seeing t'ings happen?”
She led the way toward the back yard where her garden was.

Kendra noticed the startled reaction, but for the moment she didn't say anything. She kept that worry to herself. She didn't want to drape herself all over Xavia and be a worry wort. God knows she could be when she wanted to be. Kendra had nothing but time on her hands. Being constantly conscious and awake left you with a lot of time to consider every possible outcome of any choice you made throughout the day. It was a conscious effort sometimes not to just sit in her head and think about things. Kendra hated that Xavia couldn't read the expression on her face. Her face was twisted into a look for concern. It was enough to say 'hey i'm here for you if you want to talk' without being that much of a bother.
Kendra followed her outside into the backyard. She was actually kind of excited about this. Xavia's mutation was still a bit of a mystery. She knew it was plant based, and that she could construct vines from her hands, but was that all? Was there more? Kendra was excited to find out. She moved out into the soft grass.. Kendra started by teleporting around the yard a few times to get a feel for the space she would have to move around in. Each time she teleported she exploded in a red and white mist. The fire of her hair blending with the pale hue of her porcelain skin to make an invisible cocktail of red and white blur. When she reappeared she just appeared where ever she was thinking about appearing. Kendra could teleport anywhere within the radius of a mile. "Alright, how bout'n you start us off. Show me what'chu can do there honey." Kendra called out gleefully. She was really excited for this demonstration. She didn't know if Xavia knew about her teleport ability, before now but surely she saw her moving around the yard disappearing from one spot and reappearing somewhere else. Each time she disappeared her black boots and pink t-shirt exploding into a mist of pink and black that Xavia could see hang in the air like a dust cloud until she reappeared somewhere else in the yard.

She continued to feel kind of unsettled, but didn't know how to take the text messages she kept getting, that sense of being watched, etc. Her fingers twitched with the urge to turn her phone off... She very well could have at that point, seeing as she was home, but she didn't. Xavia didn't say anything about it after that, she would figure it out, wouldn't she? Well? Probably not.
She thought about this as she approached one of her favorites, her rose bushes. Kendra seemed very eager to see some of what she could do, and though Xavia wasn't eager to show off, she would do it because she was asked. She touched some closed buds with her fingertip, and the buds would bloom into their full glory. Xavia knelt down and touched the ground, causing more stems and blooms to pop out.
It was all easy stuff for her, it might seem complex to others, though. Yes, she knew about the teleportation, Kendra had used it on her the night after a-hole did what he did. Just like Kendra had seen the vines and such.
