The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

One of April's favourite pastimes by far was to explore new bars when she wasn't on shift early. And today she'd decided to one of the ones near the college. College bars were kind of cool at times, she generally found if you batted your eyelashes it was easy enough to skip queues, and on top of that they tended to be pretty cheap. Which was also good because she wasn't exactly loaded at the moment with money for bars.
April was wearing jean shorts and a sleeveless tie dyed tank top, her hair wasn't done up or tied up, she'd simply just washed it and let it dry in open air, so it was tending more towards curly than normal. She reached the bar and gave one of the bartenders her most flirty smile, before grabbing a menu and browsing the cocktails and drinks, thinking about asking another patron what was good here before her gaze froze on somebody completely unique.
A mutant, definitely a mutant, with a grey hue of skin, absolutely alluring curly hair and a pair of freaking wings and a tail was just walking in towards the bar. She did a double take to make sure she wasn't seeing things, and then her lips spread into a large smile, resting a hand on the bar and twisting so that she could face her full on, she subtly checked the girl over. The gargoyle's skin was so pretty, and the tail and wings were just fascinating. "Well hello there!" April chirped in greeting to the beauty.

Tonight, Gina was out with college friends. Now that she was of-age, she could accompany them on the 21+ outings. It opened a whole other world of possibilities. It was the kind of bar with live music, dancing, and scant seating. A little hole-in-the-wall place over by campus. Gina had managed to snag a stool by the bar, and was resting her feet.
She kept her wings folded close (or at least, tried to) to allow for other patrons to sidle up to the bar and make their orders. The tip of her tail idly flicked this way and that—she was so short, even her tail couldn’t reach the floor from her high seat upon the stool. One patron in particular sidled up but lingered longer than usual.
>> “Well hello there.”
It was a bright greeting that pulled at the gargoyle’s attention. A pretty blond woman, trim and athletic, was addressing her. Gina was dressed in high-waisted, black skinny jeans and a flowing maroon camisole. Somewhere in the coat check-in, she’d left a sandy-colored leather jacket. Gina had even donned coordinating gold earrings and necklace. For the time being, her hair was down. She wasn’t far enough into the evening to want to tie it up.
“Hello,” the gargoyle sang back in response, a faint smile twisting at her lips. She stole a sip of an alcoholic beverage that was fruity, opaque, and probably blended, “How is your evening treating you?”
Ugh. She was just too cute. April hadn't met all that many visible mutants before she'd moved to New York. Sure, she'd met a few others mutants here or there while she was doing her thing, but NYC seemed to have a much larger concentration of mutants in the country. Though it might have been that she'd not socialised nearly as actively when she was still on duty, or she was busy with family stuff.
The flirtatious blonde just couldn't suppress her grin in front of the cute gargoyle. "Just peachy hun" she chirped. "My, you are so gorgeous." April observed, very genuinely, admiring the girl in front of her.
"I definitely need to make my mind up on what I want to drink though." she added, glancing down at the cocktail menu. College bars were so damn cheap.

A faint blush colored the gargoyle’s cheeks at the compliment, and the gargoyle rested her chin upon her hand, and her elbow upon the counter.
“Oh, you’re too much,” Gina said shyly, “Thank you. You’re very pretty, too.”
She really was. The gargoyle wasn’t just saying it to be polite. Slim, tall, blonde. An entirely different type of beauty. The blond said something about ordering a drink.
The gargoyle returned her attention to her own drink, casually sipping away at the blended beverage. If she didn’t mind fruity drinks, the smoothie Gina was currently imbibing in wasn’t half-bad. But maybe she was one of those hard liquor kind of women who didn’t like fruity drinks?? It was a true mystery indeed. The gargoyle waited to see what sort of thing the blonde would order.
She was very happy when the gargoyle decided to take a seat next to her. The grey skinned female was by far the most interesting person that she'd come across in this bar, possibly all week for that matter. She grinned more brightly as the lovely woman blushed, April absolutely loved it when pretty people blushed, it was this combination of the cuteness that came from the instinctive shy reaction and the beauty that was so very alluring.
"Oh thank you darlin', it always brings a smile to my face to see a beautiful dame commenting on myself." She chirped, quickly scanning over the drinks menu with the corner of her gaze, trying to keep most of her attentions focused on the gorgeous lady in front of her.
She quickly made her mind up and turned to a gorgeous dark haired bar tender, probably another student and made her order. "I'll take a cubre libre please."
Before turning back to the woman. "So what should I call you, other than gorgeous?" she purred before adding. "I'd definitely be making jokes, but I'm sure you've already heard the 'something something fallen from heaven lately' too many times."

It took all sorts of people to make the world go around, Gina supposed-- ranging from people who would rather see her dead, to people whose interests were piqued by the gargoyle's unique appearance. This woman seemed to be the latter as she lavished compliments upon the gargoyle, taking a break only to place her order, before returning her attention to Gina.
The gargoyle casually curled her tail around the barstool, and idle finger twirling a loose curl of hair. Gina smiled when the lady asked her name.
"Gina," she answered honestly, shrugging her shoulders. This was the best part of going to bars-- working her charm on people she may or may not ever see again. The blonde mentioned that she would make jokes, excluding the whole fallen from heaven trope. Gina hummed, nodding her head. She had heard that one far too many times. Her demonic appearance gave it a different connotation, which was amusing to hold over someone's head for laughs, when they weren't necessarily of interest.
"Do your worst," the gargoyle challenged, taking another sip of her drink, "Miss ...?"
It wouldn't be polite to not ask her companion's name, after all... her tone implied that, contrary to the gargoyle's statement, getting hit-on was actually welcomed.
