Hello, citizens of MRO!
MRO is switching over to using out of character player “aliases” in the chatbox. We are making these and other cbox changes in order to enhance the MRO experience. To find out what everyone is going by, check the Who's Who Directory.


What does this mean for MRO?
None of the MRO essentials or how we play will change. We will still be an original X-Men roleplay with a cbox, posting, and an awesome community. The only thing that will be changing will be how we refer to one another in our (already out of character) chat.

We will also be switching over the cbox so that players can register for accounts under their alias. The moderators would love it if people could start chatting under their alias right away so that we can make the change as smooth as possible.


Do I have to do this?
We would like unanimity, but we're willing to meet the community half way. If you can’t possibly imagine chatting under a different name, then let the mods know and we can work something out. Be warned, though, these chat names will be permanent, so if you do end up switching out your character, you will not be able to change your name.


I can’t think of anything!!
There are a couple of things that you can try!

• Ask the cbox!
• Use a random word generator or a random username generator.
• Use some sort of diminutive of your name/nickname, your character’s name, or a username.

Where do I start?
Either fill out this form or make a claim on the Who's Who Directory to tell us what you would like your alias to be. Once you’ve done that, you can start chatting under your alias.

STOP! Do you know how to tag yourself in something? The @ symbol goes in front of the USERNAME that you registered under, not your display name. If you can't remember what it is, look on your profile at the top right-hand corner:

Or, if you're lazy, you can just hover your cursor over your display name for a minute. Either way, use your USERNAME, not your DISPLAY NAME.

The moderators will be compiling these names into a Who’s Who list that will be our reference for who everyone is and plays. We will be taking some time to compile that list and it will be released on June 8th. On June 8th, we are going to ask that you start going by your alias in the cbox.

We are also going to ask that you edit your character profile(s) to reflect your chosen alias. We will be adding a section to the applications for players to add their alias for easy reference. Copy this code and put it in the roleplay section of your application.
