The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Y’ve got a power most people would kill t’ have in their teams.”
Henry rolled his shoulders to work out some of the tension in his limbs. Old scar tissue strained on his right shoulder, an old knife wound that gave him trouble from time to time.
Gunna have me feelin’ like I’m gettin’ old if y’ keep that up."
Henry let out a chuckle and thought over what Ranger had said. Getting back in the field would be nice, and familiar. Henry could use some familiarity in his life again.
" I served because it got me out of prison. Then I fought cause I realized I was doing good, defending my country. I'd thought about doing contract jobs, but I'd have to make sure it was the right person for the right reason. Otherwise I'm pretty content baking cookies." He said simply.
Henry had served as a way out of prison. The Ranger had met a few of those. As a group they were a mixed bag, some just kept on and received a dishonorable discharge before being shipped back to prison. Some, like Henry, used it to turn their lives around.
Then he asked if the Ranger was looking for someone. "I'm always lookin' f'r new shooters. You saw what kind of jobs I take on. The same missions I did while I was still in. I work for any NATO power who can pay." The Ranger chuckled a little, "Which means it's mostly America. I've done a couple f'r Britain an' one f'r France an' Germany each."
The Ranger patted where he would normally have his wallet. "I don't have a card on me or I'd give y' one. If y' think y're up f'r it I could run y' through selection."
The Ranger gave Henry a polite proposition. Henry knew he had skills, that he was probably exactly the kind of guy Michael probably wanted on the team. The way he presented it was pretty simple however. He wasn't pushing Henry, he was simply giving him a choice.
The idea of going back to war, getting back on the battlefield was like handing an alcoholic a bottle of whiskey and asking him if he wanted a drink. Henry had come home to be with his family and to take over the bakery. He had made the choice to stay away from conflict. He had served his country, done his part.
But then he thought of Aerial. His daughter was a smart kid, not in the "My student is on the honor roll" kind of way. She was smart in the "I built a self sustaining power generator out of paperclips and copper wire." Kinda way. She deserved her choices of college when she got older, and that was pricey. Henry had sunken a lot of his money into the bakery, it wasn't an investment that was being very profitable.
The Ranger would pay well, that was obvious. He owned a company that had contracts with some very wealthy nations. Henry could sign on, do some missions, and make enough money to ensure his family was taken care of for the rest of their lives and then some. It was an offer that was sweet as honey. But he had to be careful.
"I'm game, but I won't lie to you I have some reservations." He said simply.
"Do you hire contractors? I have a business of my own to run. If I pass the selection" He gave a little chuckle at the idea of not passing, " I'd want to be able to choose what missions I'd go on. And I'd want full disclosure in the nature of those missions."
"No offense. But you run a company, which means money is part of the equation. I fight because I want to do what is right. If I can do that and make some money for my family all the better." He concluded.
He offered Ranger his hand, "You still interested in a weary, grumpy old vet?"
Henry was interested. He had reservations, but he would be crazy if he didn’t. Though most people’s reservations had to do with the fact they were risking their lives, who they were working for, where they would be working, and so on. Henry’s had to do with him having a business to run.
The question was if the Ranger hired contractors. Henry wanted to still be able to run his business. So far Blackforest Tactical had only hired people on as employees. The ability to tell someone where to be and when to be their for training and missions allowed the Ranger to more easily negotiate contracts.
”I’ve never taken someone in as a contractor. I think we could work somethin’ out though. If y’ can make it through selection I keep y’r contact information handy. If a mission comes up where I need the extra hand I call y’. Y’ maintain the right of refusal.”
The Ranger wasn’t sure how well it would work out. He could always have the documents drawn up and give Henry a shot. Worst case he failed selection, best case he made it through and he used him on reconnaissance. Not being available to to train with the rest of Alpha he would not be part of any regular operation.
