The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"I teach Biology." Her reply was quiet as she continued to fiddle with the damn bandage like it was helping the situation, when really, it was not going to help the wound close, was it? The fact of the matter was that it hurt... It hurt all the way into her shoulder. She had never had the plant matter ripped directly from her skin. Usually, she was able to shake it off before that could happen. In fact, she was looking quite... Pale... Sweat was starting to glisten upon her brow. But she was not focusing on herself.
"Do you need ride? I have a van. I take you home if you like." Which probably might not be the greatest idea with her looking as if she was about to pass out or puke from pain. "I teach you what I know if you promise to wait until after to do what you did tonight. Hate to see you get hurt over someone else acting stupid."
That was said in an almost chastising manner, but not quite. It was simply clear that Xavia was deeply concerned about Kendra's safety. "Tell me what you wish to do, Kendra. I just want you to be safe, yes? I take you home. You stay? Not angry no matter what you choose, promise!"
Ugh, why does it hurt so bloody much? She did not think about it when she started to cradle the throbbing appendage closer to her heart, nor the fact that the blood was already soaking the gauze and starting to ooze down her arm, smearing upon the tee she had on under the leather jacket.
Kendra watched as she messed with the bandage some more. At first she paid little attention to it. She should have been more worried, but when she came back with just a simple bandage Kendra assumed that it must've not been that bad. After all, maybe the girl could regrow lost tentacle appendages or something. She didn't presume to know how her power worked fully. When she kept messing with it however, more and more Kendra began to notice it. It seemed almost like she was a rabid dog itching for a bone.
"Hey, you o..." She started and then she saw the blood leaking into her shirt. The crimson liquid staining her shirt and seeping into her leather jacket. "Oh ma'god!" She cried. She moved from her seat at the piano so fast she accidentally flipped the bench in her haste to move over to her. She didn't hear the questions about weather or not she waned a ride home she didn't hear the woman say she wouldn't be upset either way. Her eye was busy looking at her tear at the bandage and now she was freaked out.
"What do you need me'ta do?" She asked. She wasn't good in crisis. Sitautions. She didn't know that until right this moment, but she was finding out first hand how scarily uprepared she was for something like this. Towels! She thought, it was her best plan and she rushed through the house until she found a bathroom. She opened the door and grabbed a few towels off a rack and headed back over to her bleeding host.
"Lemme see." She said pulling the bandage away. Kendra took her hand and pulled it towards her. She dabbed at the blood that was coming out in heavy flows. This was bad, this might even need to be stitched up. Could she stitch it up though? Would that prevent it from growing back? Or would it not allow her to shoot vines from her hands anymore? She didn't know anything about mutant biology. God things she was sitting here with a biology teacher. Surely she knew a little about her own biology.
"What do I do? You thank it needs stitches?" She was more worried about this girls safety. This sweet, sweet angel who had saved her, was sitting here bleeiding everywhere and calmly trying to arrange a ride home for her, when she was seriously hurt. Kendra was actually a little mad that she didn't tell her how bad she was hurt. She could have done something sooner. It looked bad, but she really didn't know what she was looking at. Kendra's eyes searched the girl's face for any clue of what she could do to help.
It took her a minute to register what was happening with her hand besides the pain. "Oh..." That was uttered quite softly as she tried to unfurl her fist, which was quite painful. She cursed and whimpered out, "We go to mansion. You drive? No choice. No hospital, mansion infirmary." Oh god, it hurt terribly.
Her fingers wanted to curl back up on their own. "I never have vine ripped from my hand. First time." She let the other put pressure on it, and luckily, the bleeding started to ebb. But it still looked pretty nasty. "It hurts more t'an anyt'ing."
She had yet to move, considering how much she had bled. Ugh, she wanted to sleep. Mmm... Sleep... She would feel better ifshe slept, yes? She sighed and gave in, her eyes closed and her breathing deepened as she passed right out. The plant mutant slithered to the floor into a heap, stool toppling over in the wake of her fall.
Kendra nodded and grabbed the keys by the table. Helping the girl up and out toe the van she quickly got into the driver's seat. She was sure that this was going to be ok. It had to right? Surely she wasn't about to watch someone die. You can't die from a hand wound. But there was so much blood. "Just try'n hang in there ok?" She said nervously.
Kendra flew down the road like a bat out of hell. She honestly had to remember how to get back to the mansion. She wasn't from New York natively. She had only been here a short time. "Im gone need some direction here honey, try and stay awake!!" Kendra said snapping her fingers in the girl's face when she thought she saw her trying to sleep. Sleep would not be good. Sleep would be very very bad when you lost a lot of blood. Or at least Kendra would assume it would be bad. She didn't know these things! Oh man she thought as she flew down the road.
She saw a dashboard gps and plugged the mansion address into it. It said they would be there in about fifteen minutes. Oh please just hang on for a little bit longer. She knew who to take her too. DocProf. She had seen him work before when he heal some injuries of her own. "We're almost there just try'n hang on!" Kenda said impatiently.
She didn't know the girl very well, but she didn't want her to die. It would be her fault. She got hurt trying to save her. She had to make sure she was ok. Not only to appease her guilt, but for the woman's daughter. She had to make sure she was ok for her daughter who was apparently coming home soon. !0 minutes later and several broken traffic laws later they wre pulling up to the mansion. Kendra hopped out quickly and began to help the injured woman inside.

Nonono, she was too tired! She heard the sound of snapping and felt the sensation of floating, but the bubble of serenity remained intact..... That is until she woje up to being ushered into the mansion. Ugh, how did she get there? By that point, the blood was just oozing from her palm.
She blinked a few times and focused upon the face of the lady who she had helped. Oh, yeah... Someone had ripped a vine frtom her hand. No wonder it hurt. "Tired," she said honesdtky, stumbling next to Kendra until they made it to a bed.
She lay down with a sigh and tried, for the life of her, to keep her eyes open. She certainly wasn't dying, she hadn't lost enough blood to do that... A pint or so, yes, but nothing too bad. It was enough to make her tired.
"I sleep now?" She asked, voice gravely with her fatigue.
Oh no no no no no dont'chu do that now! "Heeeey shhhh it's ok sugar, just need'cha to open up dem eyes a bit. Come'on now, let me see those pretty eyes." She said as she tried to coax the girl from falling asleep. She was no medical professional, but she didn't want her loosing consciousness. Kendra gently shook her and tried to keep her attention on her. People in the infirmary started to notice something was wrong and ran to get the doc.
Kendra reached up and brushed the hair out of the girl's face. She couldn't rightly remember if she had even told her, her name. She wasn't thinking clearly she was a bit frazzled in the current situation so she just started talking to fill the void of silence until help arrived. "You know you saved me right? You didn't have'ta do that, you went out of your way to save me and now this is happenin. I'm so sorry that i caused this. Please you gotta try'n hang in there ok?" Kendra said lightly squeezing the girl's fingertips.
Kendra didn't know that she wasn't dying. It was a lot of blood and honestly when that thing was ripped out of her hand it looked pretty violent. She figured it was ok when the woman drove her back to her place, but maybe she had some kind of slow bleed. Maybe something about her mutation caused the bleeding to be delayed she wasn't sure, but the situation had spiraled from 'she is going to be ok' to 'please don't die on me.'
Finally the DocProf. came bounding over to take a look at his patient and see what he could do. "Alright now, let me see what's the problem." He said gently pushing his way past Kendra. Kendra let go of her hands and stepped back so she would watch the Doc take care of her. The Doc would fix it. He had healed Kendra's wounds no problem, he was a healing mutant and she felt good as new by time he was done with Kendra.
Kendra stepped back and covered her mouth with her hands. She didn't even realize that they were covered in blood. She smeared blood on her face, but she didn't notice. She was to worried about the mysterious girl who had saved her and welcomed her into her home. She couldn't help but think that this was all her fault.
She was well acquainted with the doc professor after years of being in and out of the Mansion. "Vine rip from my palm... Never happen before. Hurts so bad." That croaked out, though her eyes refused to open. "So tired. I sleep, please?" She tried, for the sake of Kendra, to open one eye and managed a slight crack, "Just a flesh wound. Promise." A fact that was confirmed shortly after the statement was made.
Xavia sighed and drifted off. The staff knew her by name, they called her by name whenever they talked about her, saying she mostly needed sleep and it was normal... But they had to use a synthetic painkiller for it to work on her since it was hard to inject plant based ones when the cells were already there in her body.
She woke up every now and then before painkiller, and said, "I promise it is ok. Hurts is all. Sorry I bleed all over and scare you. Not every day vine gets rip from my hand. I do what I do because I do not wish you to hurt. Not your fault. Instinct. Will be okay."
Kendra sat quietly and watched as Doc fixed her up and she fell asleep. Well, she wasn't going anywhere. Kendra decided she would stay with her through the night. She was wanted the girl to know that when she woke up she would be there. Kendra pulled up a chair beside the bed she was laying on and got comfortable. Reaching over she squeezed the girl's hand and decided to get some sleep. It had been a long night and it was already almost 2 in the morning. Or somewhere close to that.
It didn't take Kendra long to fall asleep. Maybe about 10 minutes before her body drifted away into peaecul slumber. Kendra was now standing out side of her body. She was astral projecting now. It happened automatically when she fell asleep. She had no way to control it or turn it off. She was invisible to the world except for reflections. That was the only way you could see her astral form was in a mirror or reflective surface.
Kendra looked down over her sleeping body. Her hand was stretched out and holding on to Xavia's hand. She smiled lightly and found a blanket from one of the cupboards and covered both herself and Xavia up. With a heavy sigh, she realized her night was really just beginning. She would wander around in this ghostly form until her body woke up. There was nothing for her to do besides sit here. She decided to go get something to eat and check on her girlfriend to pass a little time. First she went to check on Emily.
Heading upstairs she quietly moved through the halls. She knew it was late and she didn't want to wake anyone up. Arriving at Emily's door she slowly cracked it open and saw that her girlfriend was sleeping as well. She snuck into the room and carefully brushed the hair back from her eyes before leaning down and giving her a small kiss on the forehead. And covering her up. Kendra left the room as quietly as she entered and headed downstair to find something in the kitchen.
Kendra's body was still in the room with Xavia. If she would up she would see Kendra sitting in the chair sleeping peacefully next to her, while her astral spirit wandered through the mansion. Kendra moved into the kitchen and began fixing herself a snack. peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. She made one and thought about making a second but decided against it. Instead she put everything back and headed outside.
When she was astral projecting, anything she fell asleep with came with her astral soul into the dreamworld. It became astral like her. So the phone in her pocket would also be invisible to anyone but her. She could still be heard if she spoke and she could still be touched if you reached out for her. She made sounds and could move objects though if she picked something up that wasn't astral and invisible, something she didn't "Bring" with her; it'd appear to be floating by itself. Her peanut butter and jelly sandwich was floating down the hall as she made her way out to the front steps.
Stepping outside into the cool night she looked up at the stars and wondered how she had let this happen. She knew Xavia was going to be fine now and that was a relief, but she still felt bad that she caused her to get hurt in the first place. Kendra finished her sandwich and sat down on the steps. If something was to wake up her body a loud noise perhaps she would disappear from her astral form and awken in her body wherever she left it last. Kendra didn't think Xavia was going to be up for awhile so she fished in her jacket pocket for a cigarette and lit one up. Blowing out a cloud of smoke she looked at the stars and wondered why she seemed to be a trouble magnet.

Unaware that she was being watched over and that Kendra had left her body via astral projection, Xavia slept on. Her sleep was heavy for about an hour or so, but the drugs had their side affects that could not be avoided. She did not have the abilities that Kendra did, though it would be a blessing.
Xavia started out with just whimpering in her sleep. She started to shift as she relived her past as she always di: in her nightmares. It was natural that she had ptsd after all that she had endured over the years. Being in the infirmary certainly didn't help.
The nightmare for the night consisted of the memory of being injected with different serums, the tubes that were hooked to her body. She tossed and turned. The face of the man that had commissioned her first kidnapping years ago, decided to swim above her. The old man seemed to cackle at her and say, "Your child is next. I am coming for her."
"No... No..." She spoke in her sleep. He was dead, though she knew this was just a dream. But this did not stop her from sitting up with a gasp within two hours of falling asleep. She wrenched herself out of the bed and jerked away from the other, sleeping figure, sweat rolling down her face as she moved toward the nearest sink.
"Gawd," she sputtered, turning on the water and splashing her face with her uninjured hand. If Kendra remained asleep through all of that, Xavia would move back to the bed, curl up and stare off until she slept again... If not, she would probably go find a place to pop a squat so she could calm herself.
A unique part of Kendra's ability was that she was always linked to her body. No matter what. If she were to fall and cut her hand in her dream, she would wake up with a healed scar where the cut would have been. If she ate while walking around in astral form she would wake up feeling full. The same goes for sense of touch. Kendra's body didn't wake up when Xavia woke up in her bed and pulled her hand away from a sleeping body. Though sitting out on the porch of the mansion she felt her hand twist as if someone was pulling at it. She
Kendra looked over to where the infirmary was. She couldn't see it from here, but she instinctively looked because she knew something was up. Kendra stood up and dropped her cigarette on the porch before crushing it out with her boot. Kendra started to head back inside. Blowing out a cloud of smoke into the cool night air she pulled the door open and slipped inside.
The mansion was eerie at night. It almost seemed dead in this place. She didn't like quite mansions with long shadowy creepy halls. She had spent enough time here wandering the halls in astral form to be used to it, but she wasn't. It still gave her the creeps a little. Kendra moved through th hall quickly making her way to the infirmary. The buckles on her leather jacket jingled with each step. The soft footfall of her heavy boots were muted by the plush carpet.
Kendra opened the infirmary door to see Xavia washing her face. She looked over and saw her body slumped in the chair. She hated watching herself sleep. She always thought she looked dead. She slept awkwardly. Her body was always twisted in some weird uncomfortable looking way. Like a corpse slumped in a chair. She thought as her eyes moved over to Xaiva. The door closed behind her and it appeared to open and close on it's own.
"Feeling better honey?" She said in a quite tone. She didn't want to wake herself. It was sleep. She needed the rest, even though astral projecting wasn't exactly restful, it was better than nothing. Kendra moved to the corner across from Xaiva in her invisible form and leaned against the wall smiling at her. "It's me, Kendra' by the way.... I'm using my power, don'tchu freak out ok?"
Purple text = Dialouge White text = Awake Light pink text = Dream walking *Chat Alias* Melody (Daydream)
She cracked an eye open, somewhat startled (which was partially due to the drugs.) Xavia glanced toward the prone figure next to her, then sighed tiredly. "Feel like ass," she muttered truthfully, voice rather groggy. Her hand throbbed a dull throb, though it wasn't at full out pain as of yet. That was good, was it not?
If she had to really describe how she felt in detail, it would be extremely drugged feeling, extremely tired and her body just ached in an odd way from having bled so much. She was alive, though! "Do yourself favor and try not to bleed so much. It knocks t'he wind out of you."
There was at least a tiny bit of humor lacing the statement as Xavia took several moments to get situated on the bed. "I hate being here... Triggers bad dreams. Flashbacks..." And that meant Xavia was in for a long night. The docprof had offered sedatives years ago when he observed her tossing and turning; an offer she declined for the very reason she was feeling like absolute dog turd at the moment.
Kendra watched as she settled back into a sleepier state. She said she felt like ass. Kendra could sense that she was doing sounding a little better. Just sleepy for the most part. DocProf had healed her afterall. It was only a matter of time before she felt better. A little something something to help her sleep didn't hurt either.
Kendra was still sleaeping in the chair. Her physical body slumped over the side of the chair arm. Her arm was dangling and she looked uncomfortable as heck, but Kendra's astral body ignored this. Instead she decided to teleport over to the side of Xavia's bed and pulled the sheets up over her. The sheets appeared to creep up her body all on their own. It could be just her imagination from the heavy sedatives. Kendra never did really explain her powers that much.
Who's to say she wasn't just sleeping in the chair. Xavia was drugged. Kendra didn't even know if Xavia realized there was another presence in the room. Or that it was her astral form that was talking to her. Kendra's hand gently tucked the sheets over Xavia's shoulder and up under her neck.
Reaching up Kendra brushed a few loose strands out of Xavia's eyes and watched her sleep for a moment. She seemed a lot more peaceful. She was freaking out about it earlier, about Xavia falling asleep. Docprof said It was ok though. And he would know better than she would.
"It's ok." She said lightly. Her voice dripped from her lips with sweet motherly tones. The way a mother would tuck in a child who wasn't feeling well. "Just'chu feel better hun." Kendra knew she had some time to kill and sat down and started to play with her phone.
Every so often the invisible girl would look up to see her body or Xavia's shifting around. Kendra pulled out another one of her invisible cigarettes. Lighting it up she exhaled. The cloud of smoke was invisible, just like her but the smell of it filled the room.
Purple text = Dialouge White text = Awake Light pink text = Dream walking *Chat Alias* Melody (Daydream)
She fell back asleep, and was restless. Xavia would be up and down over the course of twelve hours. Sometimes her shifting around would be particularly violent and sometimes just merely restless. When she woke up for the day, it was passed lunch time and she was not well rested at all. Obviously, she would not be able to teach class that day.
At some point, she took a shower, trashing the bloody tee and changing into some clothing she had stashed in her office. She tossed her hair into a messy bun and was dressed in the outfit she usually wore in the gym, yoga pants and a tank top over a sports bra. Her figure was trim and toned, so she could pull the look off with no trouble. Today, it was for comfort.
After fixing her appearance up, she went to the cafeteria in order to get food. She had someone let Kendra know where she was if necessary, she was going to go out in tge sunlight and eat her food. She still looked kind of like a ghost, but that was par for the course with blood loss.
If one was curious enough to check out what she was eating, it was a pretty large meal consisting of fruits, veggies, nuts, and quinoa. Another bowl was filled with black beans. There wasn't any meat in sight, which indicated she was vegitarian, but clearly not vegan since she had been wearing leather.
She had a radio on playing some old jazzy tunes from the fifties, and the day seemed to be nice and warm. She contemplated taking a long run around campus, but would have to change into mire formal and less comfortable wear.
Kendra got up and left the room not wanting her smoke to bother Xavia as she rested. She decided that her body could look after her and she could go try and do a little studying in the library. When she came back later the next morning the girl was gone. After doing some snooping she finally discovered her outside. She was basking in the sun. She was ghostly white and her pale complexion reminded her of her own. Kendra moved over to where she was sitting and sat down.
Kendra knew her body was still back in the infirmary sleeping peacefully. She didn't have the phone number to the infirmary but she decided to teleport back there and wake herself up. It was morning after all. She really shouldn't sleep all day. There was one thing that really sucked about her power. If her sleep schedual was messed up she was in trouble. Teleporting back to the room she gently shook her body until her eyelids cracked open.
Kendra quickly got up and stretched a bit. She still felt tired, but at least Xavia was ok. That made her feel some better. She looked at the spot where Xavia was sleeping and placed a hand on the bed. It was still slightly warm to the touch. At least she knew she hadn't been up and about very long. She would have felt kind of silly if she just slept through her screaming in agony throughout the night.
When Kendra stepped outside she felt the warmth on her skin. Squinting up at the sun and shieling her eyes at it a moment she tried to find where xaiva was sitting. It was so bright outside. She walked over casually and sat down to join her. "You doin any better?" It was a dumb question, but she didn't know. Doc healed her, but she still looked like death. When Doc healed Kendra it was instant. She felt 100% instantly. She didn't know if Xavia's power was different, if it prevented her from full recovery, but she was still a little concerned as she sat down and waited for her response.
Purple text = Dialouge White text = Awake Light pink text = Dream walking *Chat Alias* Melody (Daydream)
"Just tired," she responded, setting her nearly emoty bowl on the ground next to her. "I do not sleep well in clinics... Ptsd? Sun helps me feel better. Wish to run but too tired today." The only other time she had really bled like that was giving birth, and even then, it wasn't nearly like that.
"You get rest even t'ough your soul wanders?" She wasn't so drugged that she did not remember what Kendra had told her already in that she was a dreamwalker. That was at least helpful, yes? She mused over the dream walker thing, pulled out a little memo pad to write a few things down for later. There had to be a song in that.
"I t'ink I eat too much quinoa, but was delicious. You eat yet?" She yawned, even though she tried not to. Hopefully the iron would help her out because it stunk to be so tired. She did not comment on the cigarette smoke she had smelled, it did not bother her too much as long as it was not blown right into her face. "How are you doing after last night? You do okay?" After all, SHE was the one who was being stalked by some jerk.
Xavia recalled the satisfaction she felt when she downed the man by using something as simple as thorns. He deserved it.
