The Atlantis Club
"Uncover Your Fantasy."

Just another nightclub, that is what most would think when looking among the heavy wooden doors of the establishment located in an abandoned distraction of offices and rundown buildings. The truth was that behind the brick wall façade with the kaleidoscope of blue, green, and aqua neon lights, and the neon tubing that spelled out the name “Atlantis”, was one of the most elaborate and expensive nightclubs in New York City.

The entrance to the club opens into a large staircase that head downwards a few feet. Upon reaching the bottom, patrons will immediately feel a cooling sensation from both the buildings air-conditioning and the fact that they were partially under the East River. Following along, curved shaped wall, they will find it opens in an elegantly situated room with a large open space for tables and chairs, a bar which lines the wall filled with a variety of drinks and experienced bartenders that can make practically anything your heart deserves. The most impressive view is the opposing wall which is entirely made of thick glass that peers out underneath the East River where a variety of fish, animal life, and structures can be seen an a seemingly endless expanse of blue.

On the far side of the room is a stage where booked performers are allowed to play. On either side of the stage are towering structures that spill water from the top and send it cascading down into an open tub that collects and recycles it, creating an endless waterfall effect. Such décor is tastefully placed throughout the entire, cavernous room, including watery paintings, statues, pottery, and other such knick-knacks that bring a sense of classical prestige to the establishment. But that is only the patron floors.

Behind the scenes, several offices honeycomb the establishment just out of patron sight. The largest office, has a one-way glass window that overlooks the entire patron floor and it is here where Jorge Cervantes, Poseidon, sits and observes and meets with the organization leaders. The rest of the offices are used for other activities, including storage, meeting rooms for Captains, sleeping stations for Soldiers, and so on. The lower levels offer even more amenities.

Thanks to the efforts of a Technopath and Engineer named River Red Fish, Jorge has created several lower floors. These are protected under tons of rock and water and house some of the shadier aspects of the Syndicate. The most well-known is a large, domed room for training and containment purposes of abilities. Dubbed “Practice of Lethal & Armed Training Operations” or P.L.A.T.O., the training room is the most high end tech that River Red Fish could create. It runs very similar to the Danger Room of the MRO!Verse and affords a variety of scenarios and simulations for soldiers, captains, and leadership to train in.

Vices to be found: back rooms for gambling, strippers, as well as some very under the table drug trafficking, including the selling of Ambrosia, a street drug able to temporary unlock a human's dormant X-gene.

The Bathhouse

Of course while the Atlantis Club offers a number of amenities on its dance floors, there is an area set aside for those people who want to cleanse before they get a little dirty. The Bathhouse is a section of the Atlantis Club set aside patrons of a certain level of status. All patrons are welcome to the club, but the Bathhouse is exclusive two silver level members and up. Patrons who have paid a certain amount of money for membership are allowed to bring a single guest into the Bathhouses to enjoy the sights, sounds, and utter relaxation.

The Bathhouse is a larger section where the floors are all tilted in various classical patterns that could be found in the bathhouses of Greece or Rome. The designs of various sea life can be seen on the floors while the walls have a similar look and feel to them. The walls of beautifully painted frescos, however there are large sections that are windows which look out under the water of the bay, much like in the club area of the Atlantis.

However, despite the classic appearance of everything in the Bathhouse the amenities within are kept at the utmost standards of modern comfort. Several pools of water are available for singles or groups of people to climb in and enjoy. The water is temperature controlled by the user so allows for some extra steamy types. And if its steam that you’re after, the Bathhouse does provide several steam rooms along the walls for patrons to sit and just relax while enveloped in warm mist.

Towels, robes, and bottle service, of course, are available to all patrons using the Bathhouse. Call buttons and wandering waitresses and waiters are all available to take orders drinks and bring items to your specific pool. Best of all, for a certain price, they are even allowed to join you in the warm pools of water if you wish to partake of their more than accommodating company.

Access to the Bathhouse is limited to employees, Syndicate members, and patrons who have a Silver-Level membership with the Atlantis Club. So partake and enjoy.

The Music

A club wouldn't be club without some great music. The Atlantis Club hosts a variety of musical acts. Musicians clamor for a chance to get a limited gig at the Atlantis Club, fighting tooth and nail for a chance to perform there. Stars are breed in this hallowed place.

The stage is deep in the club, situated towards the back, against a glass wall that peers out underneath the cool, blue water. Flanked on either side of the stage are two water features, waterfalls, that recycle water endless and adds to the fluid ambiance of the club. Musicians have almost full run of the stage, provided with whatever they need in order to make the show a good one (just hold back on the pyrotechnics).

In addition to numerous live acts, there is an in-house DJ, DJ Squiggly Jimmy (management is trying to convince him to change that, and thank you KHZAR for the suggestion) who plays a variety of music based on themes, all of which are approved upper management.

The Pearl Lounge

The Atlantis Club is a feast for the senses, a balm to sooth any man or woman’s vice. Lust, another of the great sins of mankind, it more than welcome in this particular establishment. While the dance floor does have a small stage or two for scantily-clad, yet clothed, dancers, there is another room entirely dedicated towards a more mature audience – especially for those who have the money to spend.

The Pearl Lounge is a section of the club dedicated solely to the sin of lust. Behind a pair of large, red velvet doors with brass handles, is where the club’s exotic dancers reside. The room is large and cast in a blue light. The most prominent visage within the Pearl Lounge is the large smooth stage with a pair of brass poles at either end, and a wall of glittering sequin separating the two sides. Dancers can each have their own performances, or the wall can be opened in the middle to allow them access to move about to either side of the stage. Either way, the ladies (or gents, depending on the night of the week) always make it the best of shows.

Around the edges of the room, there are small, single tables utilized sole for individual dancers and a small crowd of admirers. These are usually reserved for the new dancers who have to earn their way to the big center stage. However, so long as they have skill, the money is just a green.

Large, bulbous windows, reminiscent of bubbles, line the room, looking into a watery tank where water dancers (here called ‘Mermaid / Mermen) perform. They swim and twirl under the water for the amusement of patrons.

Throughout the room, the comfiest of leather chairs are situated around small, tables with programs of the evening’s “attractions” listed. Customers here can have drinks, enjoy a show, and purchase items of passing employees who are just as scantily clad. Music pours out from unseen speakers that is different from the music out on the club level. Here the music is especially for the dancers.

Through a black door towards the back, this leads into a hall with several other rooms. One branches off back stage where performers can wait and prepare for their shift. The other direction will lead to the private rooms where dancers can give individual performers for a greater fee. However, be prepared to spend money for this as they are not cheap.


Note On Exotic Dancers:
It is true that the dancers are all mutants (with some exceptions) and while it isn’t a priority, each of the dancer has mutations that usually help to get more money and attention from customers. If management sees an employee or prospective dancer that has such a gift, they will immediately be courted to see if dancing exotically is an option they would like to explore. Dancers will usually earn a bit more money than regular employees, on top of being able to keep most of the tips that they receive from being on stage.

Neptune’s Bounty

The club offers more than just a feast for the senses in the form of alcohol and visual stimulation and relaxation, rather it feeds into the vices that every man and woman that passes through the heavy wooden doors of the club; including gambling.

Just past the stage for live music, away from the bar and the wall-length windows that peer out into the blue waters, there is arch way, lined with neon lights and a trident in the center of the arch – this is the entrance to Neptune’s Bounty. This is the casino floor of the Atlantis Club, a place dedicated to promises of wealth beyond one’s wildest dreams.

Here the room has several tables set up for card games, as well as several slot machines located on the far wall in a variety of flavors. Between the games, beautiful individuals march, selling candies, gum, whatever else a healthy gambler needs to keep adding money into the machines. Several security individuals travel the floor, extremely kind to those who follow the rules, and quick to drag out those who don’t.

In a far corner of the room, hidden behind thick, heavy drapes, is the high roller’s section of the club. Shielded from wandering eyes, it is here that the most expensive card games and slots are available to those with the money to make a bet. Here there can often be seen people of personality, celebrities enjoying the club environment, as well as dealers and workers, all of which are hand-picked as the best of the best.
