The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

... Brendah wasn't listening to her. Elke's phone was monotonously voicing directions at her, which she was being steered in the opposite direction of.
"...@#$%in' really, Brendah?.... Really?" Never mind that Saph was out there in the control room losing his #$%@ laughing at her, but now the stupid fake alpaca wasn't listening to her either.
Her patience was drawing thin. She wasn't sure how much more of this she would be willing to put up with.
The other guy who had been tailing Brendah back when she was a skinny white guy popped around a corner, and her ride slammed on the breaks. Fuming, Elke prepped herself as the Llama slowed, getting her feet under her and balancing herself on the animals back. When she was close enough she used the remaining force behind Brendah's sudden stop to launch herself off the animals back, leaping into a full body tackle in order to take the thug down.
Considering he was winded from his presumably long run, she used her own weight to take him to the ground with a shoulder to the chest. She heard the thunk from his skull meeting the pavement, but moved to take it a step further. The teen hooked a leg over the guy's chest, pining him down and unable to reach up at her fully. Then she turned with her knife in hand and went after the back of one of his legs, intent on severing the muscles and tendons there allowing him to walk.
...It wasn't killing him, and therefore fine, right?
If it even worked, that is. After that attempt, she turned back, gripping one of his wrists as he reached for her and moved to punch him in the face with the fist wrapped around the knife handle.
She stood up a moment later, wincing and shaking her hand from the pain of that particular move.
Then, she turned her attention back to Brendah, and the other fellow. The pain in her butt who seemed to travel through glass and @#$%, who was still attempting to plead with the Llama for forgiveness.
... Oh, she was so, so close to giving up on this deplorable idea for a simulation.
Frank, the kind hearted thug with a degree in Llama handling, was very surprised when suddenly launched herself at him like a rabies infested krav maga practitioner. He yelped as she tossed him to the ground, and managed a brief. "Oh-god-" when she struck out at him.
"OW! OH GOD WHY!?"
She hobbled him, and then punched him in the face, knocking him out cold. His frail form shivering on the cold ground.
Saph's voice chimed in. "Wow... You just stabbed the npc I put in the there to help you... You're pretty scary, ain't you."
Brendah walked over to the KO'd llama whisperer and started licking his wound. Slowly, the leg wound healed up. He lay there a bit longer, and then slowly came to. "Hello, Brendah... Oh, god! am I safe?" He sat upright, looking about to see if his attacker was still around. Seeing as she was right there, he gasped, and scrambled away from her a bit.
As soon as Saph's voice faded out, she reached up and tore the mic from her ear. Elke was absolutely livid. Red in the face, and so tense she was sure she would have a few pulled muscles after this STUPID simulation was over.
The terrified Llama whisperer, who was surely rethinking all of his life programmed life choices at this point, tried to shuffle away from her. Elke was quicker, though. She strode forward, drew one leg back as far as she could and then kicked the man full force directly under the chin.
"@#$% YOU! COME BACK FROM THAT!"
Then, as if she were drawing upon all of the pent up teenage hormonal rage contained in the universe, she turned on Brendah. "AND @#$%," The native zoomed in on the now startled animal, reached out to roughly grip her by the ears, and planted her feet. "...THIS @#$%&@ LLAMA!"
With all of the strength she could muster she twisted and turned, both moving to snap the animals neck and bring it to the ground. There was an audible crack, and then Brendah collapsed on the ground in a heap.
ELke turned on the last target within the area, the mutant who moved through reflective surfaces, and started toward him.
Right about then a huge GAME OVER flashed to life in front of her, and the city scape vanished into an expanse of pitch black nothingness.
The teen screamed her frustration out at the nothing.

Well.
That happened.
The Simulation fell apart, and Saph soon showed up, heralding the danger-room's return to the default format. The soft light around them shone innocently as the veteran X-Man settled down next to her, and stared with a slightly disappointed look on his face.
He sighed. "Elke... You can't do stuff like this all the time... you know?" He ran a hand down his face, and looked off to the side. "I mean... That was pretty uncalled for... You snapped poor Brendah's neck." Sure, it was just a simulation, but that was pretty violent.
"How'm I gonna trust you to be on the team if I can't trust your judgment? If I know you won't listen." He summoned a chair, and took a seat, doing the same.
"Elke... You can't do stuff like this all the time... you know? I mean... That was pretty uncalled for... You snapped poor Brendah's neck."
The teen turned to him slowly, face red and eyebrows pinched together so tightly she was starting to giver herself a headache. Her fists were clenched at her sides, and as he made himself comfy and tried to angle that i'm not mad, i'm just disappointing look at her, her knuckles faded white from anger.
"How'm I gonna trust you to be on the team if I can't trust your judgment? If I know you won't listen. You, eh... I dunno... Wanna talk about it?"
"... How are you gonna trust ME!?" She was so... so angry that at first she couldn't even find words. She just wanted to open her mouth and shriek at him inhumanly, like some kinda velociraptor. Finally, through gritted teeth, she managed to reply.
"I played your @#$%in' game by the books and all you did was mock me from your goddamn seat in the observation room everytime I messed up! I TOOK THIS SERIOUSLY, until you decided that my training simulation needed to involve ridiculous @#$% that I WON'T EVER ENCOUNTER. How are you gonna trust me? HOW THE @#$% am I ever gonna trust YOU!?"
Her face deepened in color, and if she had been standing next to a wall she would have punched it. "NO, I don't want to @#$%in' talk about it! You are the last person in this solar system I want talk to right now! WHO THE @#$% PUT YOU IN CHARGE OF CHILDREN?!"

As she freaked out, He remained calm, sitting there, staring at her.
"Looks like you still don't get it..." He sighed... How could he show her?
"It... Ain't the context that matters, Elke, it's the concept. I need you to be able to listen, and make good calls no matter what the situation is. You're already ready to fight people. You ain't bad at it. You're just..." He stared awkwardly for a moment. How did you tell your daughter that her judgement was @#$% and it would likely get her killed if she found her self in the sort of situations he usually found himself in.
"I wanna know that you can act with discipline. I can't let you on the team until I can see that from you. You gotta follow rules. You gotta show me you are willing to work hard, and not always try to take the easy way out."
And then there was the taunting. "You also gotta keep a level head... That's why I was saying what I was saying. If you lose your cool in a fight for life and death... You're more likely to find the second of the two. I need you to understand that, Moose." He needed to break her of that.
He tried to rationalize his actions, but she wasn't having any of it. As he spoke in that calm, condescending tone she stared down the bridge of her nose at him. It didn't matter what kinda box he wanted to put this in, he'd screwed up in his weird attempt to break her of issues he presumed she had.
"Oh, yes. Because all of the people who call themselves X-men are calm, rational people who totally think through all of their actions and never lose their temper." She knew for a fact that even Saph himself struggled with it, and she wasn't above calling out his hypocritical bullshit while he tried to play parent with her.
"You don't teach a bear manners by pokin' it with a goddamn stick like a moron. If you were really trying to help me you would have pointed out all my supposed fallacies an guided me to approach them differently, instead of purposefully antagonizing me."
"You don't really %$#@in' want me joining up with this place, because you suffer from some delusion that no one else is capable of taking care of themselves when you aren't around. Maybe you should take a look at your yourself before you try and psychoanalyze everyone else, you... you domineering, machiavellian, @#$hat!"
She didn't flip him the customary bird. She was still too angry. Instead she headed directly for the door, intent on leaving to her room.
