The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

A while ago we talked about having the X-Men execute a poorly planned raid on the Camps which gets defeated. The idea lapsed when Cassiel did, but it’s precisely the sort of hairbrained comic-book thing Andy would do, so I'm considering resurrecting it.
Andy convinces some of the "wandering mutants" (those neither in the Resistance nor the Camps) to help out. This includes (confirmed) Naveed and (possibly) Fade, Sebastian, others. ("Come on, let’s put on an escape! Mom and Dad say we can use the barn! Isn't that cool?") If you want in, let me know. The team should be small, on the naive/impractical/downright-insane side of the fence, and without strong ties to the Resistance.
Hunter becomes aware of this (for example, Andy suggests it to Sebastian while Calley is around and Hunter hears it over CalleyCollarCamTM) Hunter decides this is a fine idea... the raid is absolutely doomed, of course, but that way he can observe the Camps’ defenses in action while also lulling the Camps into a false sense of security. So he assigns Calley to join them (in order to record their inevitable failure, and also to get Calley in good with the X-Men for future spying purposes if they survive). Cuz what's the use of having a spy if he isn't spying for you?
They do very minimal planning and go charging in. Naveed neutralizes the human guards, but the team gets their heads handed to them by the Stalkers. They survive by sheer luck and flee, suffering significant injuries. It's a complete debacle. Possibly the team will include a couple of red-shirt NPC mutants who get killed in the process.

An excellent idea Sonya! I'm afraid that Sebastian won't be able to participate because it would be out of character for him to rush into anything. I wish you the best!
Kai might like to get in on this. He'd be all for rushing in and saving mutants from oppression. It's the kind of thing he didn't know was going on, so a little information slanted in the right direction could provoke a big reaction for him. He is, after all, new to his powers and rather naïve. And has no real ties to any organization.
I'm not sure how you would meet him and tell him about this, but from Kai's encounter with Sonya, Cameron and my names might have started circulating around in the mutant world. Or possibly I would read about it somewhere??? Not sure about this part.

This sounds good, as it'll give the resistence some good intel via Calleycam, and will give some action for non-resistence-ers. Also, it will provide some very much needed action for us campees to... watch. But still, it'll liven things up. Also, it'll depress Ted and Deathstar especially (go read grave digging) as it'll destroy their faith in the X-men coming and saving them. Some good times all round
Sebastian - Andy sez: "please do this stupid thing with me?" and bats his eyes... (which is a disturbing stroboscopic affect) and, um... did I happen to mention that Andy has never had a girlfriend? Or a boyfriend?
Kai - easiest would be for Kai to join the Unicorn in New York thread, and for me to handwave chronology such that that thread comes _after_ he meets Fade.
Ted - yay! crushing the X-men's hopes! always fun.
well, like I said to kai, if you wander into the calley/sebastian/andy thread, we can probably bring the conversation around to discovering our mutual mutantness and andy will make the suggestion. how kai and cameron will respond is up to you.

The more weaknesses you pile onto your team, the more likely it is that you'll be able to drag Sebastian along. He'll be smacking his head the whole way because he knows it's stupid, but he might not be able to resist cute puppy dog eyes from Andy, Calley, Kai, and Cameron.
