Richard was perched. He was rather happily perched. He was sitting on the second floor of a coffee shop contentedly sipping a large cup of coffee. He savored faint aftertaste of caramel on his tongue as after each sip. It was a good day. He arrived just as it had started to rain, not the heavy torrential downpours but the light misty overcast rain that has stirred and stimulated the muse of authors since time immemorial. Richard was doodling. On the table in front of him were sketches of robots, quad copters, mechanisms, something that resembled an artichoke, piece of code, and logic…… Richard came here to brainstorm. Somewhere to get out of the office. He was staring out the window lost in thought when he realized that someone was approaching.

James had predicted the drizzle, but not that it would last more than 5 minutes. However, his predictions were correct that the subway would encounter some problems today and both him and Isaac would not be able to come home during the usual timeframe. So he decided that he should break his schedule today and spent some time with a book and a nice mug of tea in a coffee shop somewhere, to avoid the rain- Americans and their obsession with coffee. The coffee shop proved to have decent seating and drinks, but it appeared that most of the White-Collars and students enjoyed congregating here after work, therefore not providing empty spaces for him. After a few short moments of searching and observing, James chose the seat opposite to another young man around his age, entrapped in his sketches of robots and code. James himself couldn't help but become interested. After all, his job as a cyber-security tech was 90% code work. He pulled out the chair and sat down. "Sorry." James said quietly, staring down at the wood-grain of the table.
