The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The warm feeling of the healing and the bright light emitted from Doc’s hand gave Sam some momentary relief. Doc looked from Sam to Juliette, “You must have been the one who stiched Sam’s arm then?” he asked curiously then nodding his head, “Very clean, if he did what he was told and rested it, it would have healed beautifully.” Sam shifted uncomfortably as Doc moved from his arm and then to Sam’s back and touched the hole with his light. Sam turned his neck to the side and cracked it then did it to the other. ”Good as new.” the icemancer said as he looked back to Juliette, ”Doc’s good but his bedside manner sucks. Why I like coming to you.” Sam attempted a wink but wasn’t sure if she’d pick it up due to his single eye.
“My bed side manner is fine in small doses, you and Gawain just see me too much. You want me to heal that eye yet? Or you still gonna keep the patch?” Doc asked Sam as the ice mancer slid from the table and walked over to Juliette. ”Nope, not ready yet.” Sam looked to the light vampire and then pointed to the nearest outlet. ”Charge?”
Ten minutes ago, Sam's line would have been fine, but after the little meeting with the Doc, it only made her purse her lips harder. She wasn't particularly fond of being referred to as she had just been.
She wondered why Sam hadn't chosen to have his eye healed if it was a possibility. It seemed strange to want to hold onto a wound like that, especially if it was debilitating for things like driving or even the wink that he had attempted to give her. Why would he not chose to just get it over with if it was that simple? She supposed that everyone had their demons, and it wasn't her place to judge at that point.
>>”Charge?”
Juliette shook her head, "it doesn't work like that. I need a light source, not just electricity. I could you the lamp, but it would go dark in here for a little bit."

”Alright probably not the best idea. Pretty sure Doc needs more than just natural light.” Doc chimed in as he looked over some of his notes, “You’d be right.” Doc then cleared his throat then added, “It was very nice meeting you Juliette, next time you’re here without the added company I wouldn’t mind discussing some of the treatments you practice I’m always looking to expand my knowledge and understanding.” Doc looked back down to his notes and Sam took that, as a cue to leave, however if Juliette decided to stick around Sam would wait.
”So, first time at the mansion and you need a charge but we don’t want to inconvenience anyone. Two places come to mind, one is the danger room which has plenty of power and lights or… my room…but… we’d just be going as friends.” Sam said with a smirk. ”You direct, I’ll lead the way.”
"It's been a pleasure, Doc," Juliette gave the man a smile and shook his hand, "I'll be sure to stop by at some point." He seemed like he would be a generally agreeable person when not around Sam. She understood, though. She knew that there were a few regular patients that she worked with that probably didn't receive the same level of bedside manner as others.

Oh, that was a sly question. Juliette stood still for a moment, then returned his smirk. "Why don't we go to whichever one you think has the best lighting? Since you know the place so well." She gestured down the hallway for him to lead the way.

When she returned the smirk Sam knew he had to make a quick decision, he just hoped he wouldn’t regret it later. Though under the right circumstances the Danger room could work in his favor. ”Alright, while I’m very tempted I think we should have another date before you see my room. No offense, but I don’t want the kids getting attached.” Sam said talking about his cat Cammie and his dog Bruno.
”Who knows we might have time to check out both.” Sam then took the lead and started towards the stairs then went down stairs. ”Danger Room it is. It has hard light constructs so if I’m being honest it has a lot more light for you to charge up with than my room but…” Sam started to chuckle, ”You’ll understand when we get there.” When they got down the stairs Sam pointed at the end of a long hallway with large reinforced metallic doors.
The hallway was different than upstairs the floor was more metallic and the rooms more bare occasionally there were a photo of some of the team members but more could be found in the other room. The war room however wasn’t open to the public and neither was Cerebra. Those rooms required more credentials. ”Uhhh… any medical conditions I should know about?” Sam asked as he got to the doors which ‘whoosed’ open.
Stepping in the large open room Sam looked to the god room and inhaled. This was one of his favorite things about the mansion.
"Kids?" Juliette raised her eyebrows at him, partly as a way of teasing, but mostly out of real surprise. She would have assumed that he would bring up the fact that he had kids before that moment. "I didn't know you had kids. How old are they?"
She followed Sam down through the school to a room he called the 'Danger Room'. The name was a little bit odd, especially for a room in a school. She could only guess what kinds of things went on inside. According to Sam, it used 'hard light'. Whatever that was.
"No medical conditions," Juliette said as she watched the huge metal doors open with a 'woosh' noise. The room was a lot bigger than she had first assumed, and it was covered completely in metal siding. It looked more like something out of a sci-fi movie than something that belonged in the basement of a school.
Sam looked entirely content just to stand in the middle of the room. Juliette glanced at him briefly with a smile before stepping along the edge of the room, running her fingers along the sides.
"So what exactly does this room do?" She asked after a moment, breaking the silence. She assumed that it did a bit more than just look like a bit metal circle, especially judging from Sam's reaction to it.

The last thing Sam wanted was to go see Doc again, it would be even worse seeing him a second time only this time having Juliette in need of healing. No medical conditions was a good thing. Sam shifted and looked back to her, ”The mansion kids have been calling them my fur babies. Bruno is my dog, he is about four or five now and Cammie is my cat. I think she’s about three.” Sam said figuring that was enough explanation. She’d meet them eventually, either by Sam introducing them or her running into them in the mansion. They wandered the grounds a lot and everyone had an idea of who they were.
”We use it mostly for training, the room is designed to contain pretty much any mutation there is so the kids have somewhere to practice using their mutation. It’s a good place to teach control. I however use it for training from…” Sam yelled loudly activating the god room, ”Giant bunnies and Sesame Street monsters!” the room activated and a few projections of bunnies and evil looking big birds appeared from the hard light generator. The bunnies were just for show the big birds were something he actually had to fight before. Sam frowned and raised a hand shooting a large beam of ice at one of the birds.
The bird froze instantly in a block of ice and looked far less menacing as a popsicle. Sam shifted and turned to Juliette with a smirk, ”Where was someplace you always wanted to go?”
"Oh," Juliette couldn't help but grin a little at the fact that his 'kids' weren't actually human. Pets were much, much easier to deal with, and they didn't usually come with an angry ex. Plus, pets didn't make her question whether he was older than he looked. "Well, I'd be happy to meet them whenever you're ready."
>>”Giant bunnies and Sesame Street monsters!”
Assuming he was joking, or that there was some other kind of protocol put in place in a room that could do so much, Juliette chuckled at him. That was, until, she turned around and saw that he was most definitely not kidding. There was suddenly a group of bunnies larger than her, and a pack of evil Big Birds. That was... Not what she had been expecting to happen.
The constructs looked entirely real. Like if she reached out her hand to touch them, there would be something tangible there. When Sam shot an ice blast at one of the birds and it actually did something, she figured there might actually be some truth to her thought.
>>”Where was someplace you always wanted to go?”
She closed her eyes and thought for a moment. Some place interesting, that she would never have the chance to actually go to. Really, she just wanted to see the limits of the machine, so she said the most difficult landscape that she could think of in the moment. "Victoria falls in Zimbabwe."

Sam thought about the scenery as if he had been there before. He had been to Africa a few times but never the falls she was asking about. He was curious if someone had uploaded the data or if the room would find the information and have no problem creating the scene. Sam repeated the location and the birds and bunnies disappeared. At first there was nothing then some sound of some falls followed by the smell of fresh water then the heat.
Sam winced slightly as the temperature started to raise the amount of the information his sixth sense caused him the rest of his vision to blur for a moment. Sam turned and looked to Juliette with a smirk as some animals formed in the distance. If she didn’t know she was in the danger room she would have thought she was actually there. Sam could feel the heat signature from all the animals forming. Elephants, hippos and lions, a few birds flew overhead and he turned to the falls feeling the mist. ”Beautiful. Never been here.” Sam said wondering if he should take another month off so he could come here.
”Keep in mind you should be able to absorb most if not all of this. It is hard light after all. Don’t bother asking how this works. I have no idea. I just know it works.”
Juliette took in a deep breath and looked around. She had expected great things, but what she saw surpassed all her expectations. It was incredible; if she cleared her mind and stayed still for a moment, she could convince herself that she was really there. Even the temperature had changed in the room.
"I'll be careful, then," she nodded to Sam, not wanting to disturb any of the surroundings. At that point, she wanted to sit and enjoy where she was more than absorb energy. She could get energy later.
Animals native to the area had formed not far off. Juliette grinned at them, never having been that close to anything before. Granted, they weren't real, but it was still incredible. She really hadn't seen anything like it.
"So you guys just have this place open all day? How does anyone spend any time doing anything else?" She asked curiously as she walked over to the edge of the falls. She sat down and let her feet hang off the edge, confident that she would be fine since it was merely a simulation. Even if it felt entirely real.

”No, its more used for training sessions between the X-man and the faculty. I have most of my classes in here because it gives a good opportunity to deal with sometimes-real life problems and dangers in a safe setting like…” Sam looked up to the danger room. ”Session ninety- nine, keep the scenery.” the sound of something far off could be heard it sounded like a lion but it was louder and further off than the ones nearby. Sam shifted on his feet and got into a fighting stance.
”The room is open twenty-four hours and pretty much can create anything you want, it’s meant for training really than anything else. I think I’m the only one to every use this room for a date, though that’s a conversation for another time.” Sam said feeling the heat signature move closer towards them. A pair of male lions came from the forest first followed by a humanoid lion. The humanoid lion was on two legs and twice the size of the other lions. The beast roared and Sam’s hearing went as they started ringing. ”See what I mean?!?” Sam yelled as his ears rang.
The two small lions charged towards Sam and then leapt at him fangs and claws bared. Sam ducked one then rolled from the other then shot a beam of ice at one of the lion’s paws causing him stick to the ground. Sam looked up to Juliette and smirked.
"Date, huh?" Juliette raised her eyebrows at him. "You'll have to tell me about that later." It definitely sounded like it would be an interesting story to hear. Apparently Sam was full of stories.
Juliette covered her ears as two lions and something that resembled a cross between a lion and a human appeared following Sam's words. The roar was one that could shatter eardrums. She hoped that the room was soundproof so no one else got a bit of the same horrible accosting sound as they had.
Instead of turning off the simulation or just turning away, Sam took on the lions. Well, took on was a bit of an understatement. He leaped headfirst at the pair of them. Within seconds, one of them was glued to the ground via ice on the paws, and Sam was smirking up at her.
She shook her head and laughed quietly at him, unsure of how else to respond. That was the first time someone had ever tackled a simulated lion in front of her. She stood up from the side of the falls and held up her hand at the lion that Sam had pinned, shooting a blast at it.
The lion tried to pull away, but it was stuck. The blast hit it directly in the head, causing it to slump to the ground. "So between this and protecting strange nurses at hospitals, I can see why you spend so much time with the Doc."

Sam smirked when she struck the lion and he started to laugh, ”Yeah, I’m in there typically a few times a day.” Sam said leaning back and then jumping to the side as the next lion swatted at Sam. He then added, ”And nothing strange about you. Beautiful yeah,” Sam raised his arm and blocked the next swat when his arm coated itself in ice. The claws broke through the layer of ice and went into the skin a bit. Sam slammed his foot on the ground and a wall of ice spikes shot outwards towards the lion. The ice found the target and the lion was neutralized. ”strange not so much.” he tried to wink at her with his one eye when he heard another roar from the humanoid.
Sam yelled back then shot a beam of ice. The lion-man dodged it with ease then closed the distance swinging at Sam with one claw then the other. The ice mancer danced around him and redirected the second swing then kicked the lion-man in the back of the leg then jumped back when the beast dropped to one knee.
”Maybe I can jut show you? I think this counts as a date. Right?” Sam asked as he brought his hands up into a guard then stared at the lion-man feeling a few heat signatures approaching from behind him.
The woman stood watching, feeling almost inferior as she watched Sam take on the lions with ease. It was a little old fashioned, her just watching while he did all the legwork, but it was hard to know what to do. Most of her life had been spent waiting for someone to be injured rather than being the inflicting the damage.
Sam attempted to wink at her following a cheesy compliment. She shook her head again with a smile and stepped back as the beasts drew closer. Her day had been far from boring, she had to give him that much.
>>”Maybe I can jut show you? I think this counts as a date. Right?”
Alright, fine. She had been denying that fact long enough. "Well, not exactly a typical one," she pointed out with a smirk. "Usually there's some kind of dinner involved, and a lot less shooting and lions."

Closing the scratches on his arm with more ice then forming a full body armor Sam dodged the next swipe and brought his foot up into the humanoids gut. Sam used the kick to push himself further back as he started to laugh, ”We can get some dinner later if you want a typical date. Most things I do are far from typical though. Just a heads up.” Sam said as he laughed. Shooting another beam of ice at the humanoid hoping he could trap him long enough for Juliette to get another shot off he shifted then shot a beam of ice into a cluster of trees. Three more lions jumped out while the fourth was frozen solid.
”You just gonna watch?” Sam asked with a grunt as he ducked and rolled from one of the other lions that he had startled out of hiding. ”Didn’t take you for that type of woman.” Sam laughed some more. Ice covering his feet now he dodged and slid with controlled ease the lions kept trying to sneak up on him but he saw them coming before they striked further infuriating them.
”I mean I took you to one place you had to see right? Figured you would at least give me a little help.” Sam said as a lion started stalking towards Juliette.
