MutationsMutation description: Victoria can create and manipulate light.
Strengths: Victoria can amplify the effects of any and all light sources within a city block of her. She can also change their wavelength within the visible spectrum, and therefore, their color. (i.e She can make a dim lightbulb glow like a flashlight, or even like a flash-bang. She can make a green traffic light turn red. ) She can also create light on reflective or clear surfaces provided she has direct contact with them. (i.e. An otherwise normal shard of glass can act as a light source if she holds it in her hands or bumps it with her leg.) Her eyes aren't damaged by bright light, any sunglasses she wears are purely for aesthetics, and she can see slightly better in the dark then non-mutants. With focus, she can manipulate photons to distort cameras and light sensitive equipment with white light. In instances of fight or flight reflex, her brain is wired to subconsciously tap into her power and speed up the rate that her eyes process light photons. This gives her the ability to react slightly faster then the average person when her body senses danger, as her brain receives vision signals and image cues earlier then normal.
Weaknesses and Limitations:Overuse of her power can cause fatigue, drowsiness, headaches, and/or nosebleeds. Her powers are tied to her well-being and any sudden changes in mood, feeling, or physical health can cause her power to spontaneously materialize. If she is kept away from any source of light for an elongated period, she starts to lose her power until it's completely absent after a few weeks. There is no limit to the amount of time she can alter light, the intensity she can amplify light to, or the amount of lights she can amplify at once. However, increasing any of those variables increases the rate at which she overexerts herself and risks developing adverse side-affects. She cannot amplify or otherwise manipulate sunlight.
Physical AbilitiesGeneral Physical Capabilities: Victoria lives an extremely active lifestyle and as such, she is rather athletic. She's quick, agile, and flexible. She has very quick reflexes and above average stamina, but she isn't very strong.
Fighting Style: N/A
Fighting Style Pros/Cons: N/A
History Of Your CharacterVictoria was born in Duluth, Minnesota shortly before her parents moved to Grand Rapids, Minnesota where she'd grow up. Her father worked as a lawyer and her mother, as an accountant. Victoria grew up spoiled, but raised with religion and morals, as she blossomed into a young girl. She learned to skate as a toddler at her Grandparent's cabin and quickly grew to love the activity. Her father hired her a private figure skating coach to give her lessons starting as an elementary student. From then on, she dedicated her free time to competing.
When Victoria was thirteen, her parents split and her father moved to Fargo, North Dakota. Her mother stayed in Grand Rapids and they share custody. Seeing a chance for furthering Victoria's dreams of being an Olympian, at age fifteen her parents agreed to send her with her coach to Minneapolis to further her training for the next chance at qualifying for the U. S Olympic team. She currently stays with her aunt and uncle while she attends Long Lake High School, in a suburb of the Twin Cities. She visits home once a month between training, and Fargo once every other month. Finishing fifteenth at the 2016 U.S Figure Skating Championship, Victoria has dedicated herself to winning it in 2017.
Victoria discovered her power only recently and she hides it to avoid scandal or accusations of cheating, neglecting to explore her limits. She can only imagine the headlines if it was found out she's a mutant. She worries, her dreams and all she's worked for would be over.

Sample RP:Victoria was ready to have the time of her life. She had the entire ice arena to herself, well almost. No competition. No coach. No stress. It was the night after a tough meet in which the girl placed lower then she had hoped. Victoria needed to
unwind.
The girl sat in a penalty box to lace her skates. She wore black leggings and a grey track jacket, her blonde hair down and free. Gently stepping onto the ice after stretching, Victoria glided forward around the edges on sharp skates. Happy with her warm-up, she skated to the sound box and found an aux chord to plug in her phone.
"I'm gonna fight em' off!"She stepped back on the ice and smiled as she drifted toward the center.
"A seven nation army couldn't hold me back!" It was moments like this when she truly remembered why she loved figure skating. With her eyes closed, she let the music course through her veins as she danced on the ice. It was pure bliss as she spun and jumped as effortlessly as a bird takes to the air. She went for a Triple Lutz, and that's when she flutzed it.
"Every single one's got a sto-""Agh!!!"
Falling. Victoria hated that the most. Her toe pick caught the ice wrong and she was sent flailing to the ground with arms outstretched. Everything seemed like slow motion, it often did, as she fell. The lights were
too bright and they only seemed to get brighter as the ground neared. Her left shoulder bit the ice and the sound of shattering glass could be heard as the light directly above her popped.
What the heck?! Victoria lifted herself up and dusted off her clothes.
How'd that break? She bent over to brush the edge of her skate. She stopped dumbfounded. As her fingers drew near, the shiny silver blade began to glow.
"And I'm bleeding, and I'm bleeding, and I'm bleeding right before the lord!" Did I do that? How? She stared at her hands in disbelief and tried again. The same thing happen and she pulled her hand away in fear. As she did a few more lights blew and she screamed causing every light in the arena to flicker.
"Out of every pore!"She wasn't sure how long she stood there, as quiet and stoic as a statue- just watching the ceiling, before the song was over. She skated back to the penalty box and sat for a few minutes before putting on thin gloves and returning to her practice.
It wasn't me...it couldn't have been me... She denied it. She couldn't afford to be a mutant, not if she wanted to make it to the olympics. How many times had she fallen and not have anything like that happen?
It was a fluke.Victoria pressed shuffle on her phone. She began to skate again, only, her smile was hiding new worries inside her head.
I had a way then, losing it all on my own.Every time she passed the broken glass, she prayed for it to just be faulty lighting.
