The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Madlaina pulled open the doors to the Sanctuary and stepped inside. Dressed in worn cargo pants, boots, a t-shirt and zippered hoodie, she glanced around the lobby.
Her green canvas bag slung over her back with the strap across her chest, she probably looked like a tourist. As someone who had been a quiet and unnoticed mutant living at the X-Mansion years before, it was unlikely anyone here would know her. And that was just how Maddy liked it.
She needed a safe place to stay for a little while, mutant friendly, that would provide information on the META bots without asking too many questions about her. Hopefully, the Sanctuary could provide.
Madlaina stood in the foyer of the Sanctuary, looking around. She wasn’t sure what she expected, but this wasn’t it. The soles of her boots made a soft clunking sound when she took a step, squeaking slightly on the clean shiny floors as she turned toward the information desk.
There was a woman behind the desk, who smiled in a carefully controlled manner. “How can I help you?”
Maddy leaned against the counter. ”I need a place to stay for a little while.”
The woman continued to look at her expectantly, and Maddy sighed. “This is still a homeless shelter for mutants, right?”
The woman’s demeanor changed slightly, and she pulled out a clipboard with a few papers on it. “Fill out this paperwork and we will get you set up.”
”Really?” Maddy stared at the paperwork and the pen the woman provided. Paperwork? She sighed, and quickly scratched out the answers to a few questions, choosing to leave a few blank.
After a few minutes, the sound of the pen scratch echoing slightly in the space, Maddy handed the clipboard back. The woman gave her a dry look when she saw the blank spaces, but Maddy just raised an eyebrow. Flexing her power, just enough to let her eyes glow purple fro behind brown contacts, she waited expectantly.
Madlaina was shown through the halls, briefly taken through the communal kitchen and facilities, before being deposited in her room. It was fairly basic; bed, small attached bathroom, closet. Maddy deposited her belongings in the closet, before deciding to go out again. After all, there were more hours in the day to look into the META bot situation.
So she walked around looking for someone to talk to.
